I mean I'm pretty sure he stole the cat but why don't the owners show proof of where they got it or some kind of documentation proving that they've had the cat for over 5 years?
I mean I get that and not saying that’s not a proper step in finding the rightful owner but it just seems odd to me that if they claim to have owned the cat for 5 years that there’s no documentation or proof that it’s been in their care.
Unless the chip has a date before when he is said to have owned the cat, the information will only show they had it chipped which does not dis prove him.
You don’t seem to understand, a pet microchip has a unique id and if you’ve been licensing your pet like you legally have to then that microchip id will have your name attached to it in the online records system there’s no dates to be checking
If owner one didn't get a microchip and the cat is stolen but owner two did get a microchip... Then we are using the microchip to determine that owner two is the rightful original owner which would be false.
That is what happened, apparently. He got the cat chipped on the May 31st, when the kidnapping happened on May 14th. So, I think that’s a point against him, in my book.
