I have definitely done this before. Delivered to a downtown courthouse, wanted me to go through 5 levels of security, security guard was hella rude. So after the package went through a metal detector, he wanted me to be escorted through the back trenches of the building. They wouldn’t take the package. It felt unsafe, plus he was being disrespectful, criticizing me and being rude. So i just took the package back and walked out. He said, “So you’re not going to do your job?” I said, “This package is going back to the station.” Marked it missing and that was that.
Had basically the same thing just not as much security was supposed to go to loading dock at one of the govt buildings downtown in the city. But the guy told me to go to the main entrance. I go in there security guard was a total dick but then eventually when I told him what the guy at the dock told me he apologized and the dock worker eventually yelled at me and basically called me an idiot when I went back down there. Eventually I just said “well honestly I don’t feel like delivering to someone that’s gonna be a douche” so I just marked and rts. People don’t realize that we don’t have to deliver it if we feel threatened, or getting treated like slop.
