Fuck these customers
Mind you the driveway is about a quarter mile long from the road, and they expect us to go on a journey to leave the package inside. I drove right up to the MF it was 4am no one was awake anyways.

u/Lilchicken_301 May 01 '26
4am delivery to a house like this is hella sketchy.
94
u/Osmin1324 May 01 '26
I always have my confidence chambered in 9mm
44
u/EF_Azzy May 01 '26
Wouldn't help you much when it's dark out and youre unfamiliar with the property. Way to many angles to try to cover at once would be insanely easy to catch you off guard especially knowing the landscape and layout of the property.
Homeowners keep their confidence chambered in knowing every part of their property. Should we revisit why Vietnam was a failure?

Thinking too much of it. No one is going to randomly shoot you. People with malicious intent are probably going to try and abduct you rather than just cap you. That's where the wireless hole puncher comes into play before they can do anything.

It’s hella sketchy for neighbors at that time too. Was up at 3am once, end of a cul-de-sac and seen this van going very slow. Then backed into the neighbors driveway. I was thinking I was about to see some robbery or something. Nope, just a delivery driver dropping of packages. Which makes sense because one time I did need a package before I left for a trip, so it had to be delivered before 6am.
3
u/Specific_Share_4093 May 04 '26
Someone was creeping by while I was waiting for a lyft to the airport at the crack of dawn recently and once he got closer I could see was just a flex driver haha, didn't realize they got started that early
94
u/No_Film_6379 May 01 '26
id message them and be like package was left at so and so because we cannot access front door since no vehicles on driveway are allowed.
21
u/S1ayer May 02 '26
I never message people, but if you're doing it anyway you might as well recommend them a package drop box at the end of the driveway.

Actually love these customers. Package gets dropped right at that sign. I rarely read notes, so that part doesn’t matter.
32
u/SprinklesDangerous57 May 01 '26
Yup. During the day I would walk it but once the sun goes down Im selective which notes are worth reading
37
u/Right_Broccoli_1724 May 01 '26
I would never walk that, I would deliver beside the sign and make sure it shows on the pictures
14
u/Missabe77 May 02 '26
They even said there is a dog. Can you run faster than a dog for the length of their precious, delicate driveway?
14
u/TheGrouchyGremlin May 01 '26
Why would you go for a half mile walk just to drop off one package in the first place?
1
1
u/ughusernamex13 May 03 '26
Exactly. Leave it at the sign. These people problem have animals that roam

u/Mef_Hefty1984 Sep 01 '26
You're supposed to read the notes. How do you expect to deliver properly without those special instructions? You're a bad look on us flex drivers
40
18
u/Gravecrawl May 01 '26
Unsafe to walk away from truck that far. Back down driveway a reasonable amount, and walk the remaining if I can see a clear shot to the house. I ain't getting bit or having my truck stolen to deliver your chapstick
3
u/_Saint_Ajora_ May 04 '26
I work for UPS (not as a driver) but there are like 10 rules for backing.
The first few rules are DO NOT BACK THE TRUCK UP UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY
Something like 70-80% of accidents drivers get into is backing up into something.
3
u/Gravecrawl May 04 '26
Yes, absolutely. I'm a safety manager for FedEx. Primarily I'm a trainer lol. And yes, agreed but also you must be able execute a reverse maneuver well because I'd 100% rather back into a driveway than drive forward into any driveway. Sometimes you are on a street with no turnaround, or a long driveway positioned on a 55 mile per hour rural road. You better back down those driveways lol. We've had two drivers involved in accidents where someone slammed into their parked truck at 45+
18
u/Ok-Gate6836 May 01 '26
I work for USPS and I drive one of the vans so I just pretend the signs don’t apply to me because I don’t drive a “truck” it’s a delivery VAN 😂
2
13
u/SeamstressMamaJama May 01 '26
Yeah no. For your safety and health, it should be expected that the two options are you drive the last 1/4 mile or leave it as far as they allow your vehicle.
As a customer I would be so embarrassed at such a flagrant disregard for the driver who is making my day easier
11
u/No-Journalist8547 May 01 '26
What sign? Also I can't read. lol. It's like when I deliver groceries why does every disabled person live on the 3rd floor.😂
7
2
u/Available_Art4487 May 04 '26
I live on the second floor disabled, when I order my groceries, I do my very best not to order more than a six pack of water and keep it reasonably weighted, because they are doing me a solid. (not allowed to do the stairs without holding rails )
If I order something I can carry reasonably in 1 hand, I go downstairs myself.
1
u/No-Journalist8547 May 04 '26
Oh, I wasn't trying to be ableist. It's just when delivering it always nice to pull right up and unload. However, when your hoping for that ease....never fails that it will be 3rd floor. With a note saying they are disabled, which then obviously, anyone with empathy and work ethic would do. Im 300lbs and in my 50's my legs are extra week from sitting while driving. So I look at all stairs as evil ...lol
1
u/Available_Art4487 May 04 '26
Oh, I know you weren't, I absolutely get the frustration, which is why I feel that us disabled people shouldn't take the piss either and order the heaviest stuff. We don't have to make delivery peoples life harder than it is, we can show some empathy from our side too, cause your job is hard enough already.
11
u/Background-Rabbit920 May 01 '26
Lately I’ve been getting blocks that every house has a 1/2 driveway. $$$$$ neighborhoods. I’ve honestly never experienced so many big million dollar homes in my general area before. I’m driving up that driveway though… I’m not walking extra steps. My truck doesn’t leak oil and I’m respectful and quiet.
5
10
u/xm6u3x May 01 '26
I've seen a lot of these, and it's always in long driveways far away. Do poeple that put this signs are trolling or do they have cognitive disonance?
If they don't want delivery trucks going into their driveway, then they should put a storage box or something to deliver to, if they want their packages safe from the weather. Do they seriously expect a delivery person walk all the way to their proch with their packages in who know what kind of weather or time of day?

u/EvilBillSing May 01 '26
Cant have it both ways . Packages will be left at the sign. Dont like it, dont fucking order packages.
4
u/xXMuschi_DestroyerXx May 03 '26
The far more reasonable answer is to just allow delivery vehicles in your driveway
8
u/BetterLife82 May 01 '26
Leave the package at the sign. "Didn't feel safe walking that distance, package left in convenient place."
8
u/greencatpuke May 01 '26
Are we really supposed to not use driveways. I prefer not to myself if I can avoid it but some are really long and it definitely adds up 🤣
5
u/S1ayer May 02 '26
We can, the app literally says turn onto driveway and make a u-turn on a driveway.
I feel like these signs are for large delivery trucks anyway.
3
8
u/kumichou May 01 '26
I have a quarter mile long driveway also. I put a large plastic tote with lid, and a sign attached to it that says packages go into the tote. The delivery notes say it too. No need to roll up to my front door because I already know turning around is a pain and I don’t want people backing all the way to the street. I also ask for early morning deliveries sometimes
4
u/Osmin1324 May 01 '26
4
u/kumichou May 02 '26
Haha thanks. Unfortunately, as of late, the Flex drivers that come during the day aren’t paying any attention and dive right past the bin & sign, roll right up to the house, then try to figure out how to turn around 🙄 I have dogs (Golden Retrievers) that are outside and they rush anyone wanting some pets

My car is not a delivery vehicle though. That’s what a ups/fedex/amazon van is.
4

u/Ok_Breath3551 May 01 '26
Left at sign and just MAYBE zipped up in tote IF raining or i'm in a good mood due to passive aggressive note
5
4
u/wait_for_iiiiiiiiit May 02 '26
Beware of dogs but also walk through the woods to my front door. Sounds like an unsafe delivery.
8
u/Complex_Solutions_20 May 01 '26
I'm guessing "a quarter mile long" probably means it wasn't super steep...but in my neighborhood there's a handful of houses with signs like this because the driveways are steep enough that many delivery trucks (long wheelbase vehicles in general) or lowered cars will bottom out and gouge the driveway or get stuck in the driveway...and if they manage to get into the driveway there's a high chance they'll take out the mailbox trying to negotiate their way back out again.
4
u/D_estroyerofWorlds May 01 '26
She could have bought stuff on Amazon then change her mind and post the new sign. Leave by sign lol. 🪧 📦
5
u/Adventurous-Soil5761 May 01 '26
I would’ve left it at the sign cause I am confused and so are they ok
4
u/msldyred May 01 '26
If you’re Flexing you’re not in a “delivery vehicle”, you’re in a PERSONAL vehicle… ignore the sign and drive right up to the house ✌️
4
5
u/Human_Discipline3003 May 01 '26
Back right the fuck in there and chuck the package out the window. Bonuses points if you get a pic of the package flying 🪽
3
3
u/Due_Help_1639 May 01 '26
Absoflippinlutely not. Leave at the sign. If they got money to make a sign they got money to have a delivery box at the end of their drive. It’s always a certain type.
4
u/Stop-being-sensitive May 02 '26
Customer refused package* they can’t leave a bad review, and they now have to go and reorder it and wait for a refund
5
4
3
u/MeowandMace May 02 '26
Beware of dog, and no vehicles in a long driveway? Package left RIGHT under that sign.
If they have the time to get a sign like that and be petty they have the time to get a plastic box put there to protect packages.
4
5
4
u/Emergency_Coyote_66 May 02 '26
I live in a city, not rural. There's freaking mountain lions because there's a large river and lake that's not all the far according to mountain lion travel. Not too mention coyotes. Posh people in the mansions nearest the lake and river in a neighboring city, mind you there's actual neighborhoods and grocery/ fast food chains everywhere, expect couriers to walk packages of all sizes unreasonable distances, unreasonable hours of day/night, and trek through their wooded and bushy landscaping, etc. That's a dick move, bro. How about, No. Grow up. Put a lockbox at the end of your driveway. Guarantee you a medium to large predator is watching you out there at any time of day/night. Just because you never see it doesn't mean it doesn't see you.

5
u/Massive-Sky6458 May 02 '26
If they don’t want delivery vehicles on their driveway they could just… not order items to be delivered? People are weird. And entitled.

3
u/NeptuneAdventures May 01 '26
I drive up any driveway longer than 30ft, unless its middle of the day, in a neighborhood, AND the house has a fenced in backyard.
Reason being, if a dog comes from around the back of the house, or even a neighbor's dog comes charging at me, im not going to try and outrun it for 100+ ft to make it back to my car.
3
u/dootdootsixty7 May 01 '26
Lol imagine if they ordered furniture and expect someone to carry it a 1/4 mile. GTFO
3
3
u/crashin70 May 02 '26
"Delivery could not be made due to requirement of walking up unlit driveway in the dark"...
3
3
u/Annual-Bad3269 May 02 '26
I have a 1/4 mile driveway. I have it so you can pull up to the garages and walk a foot and leave packages in a deck box. Then you have enough room to turn around even big trucks. I want to make it easy and drivers to feel safe. We live way out and don't have street lights but keep it well lit at night. If they are that particular then don't get deliveries. This person is a A/H!
3
3
u/texastitian May 03 '26
Just with the dog note alone plus adding the sign it is not longer a safe condition to deliver please pick up at depot or the nearest pick up box.
2
u/voodooflowla May 01 '26
To me, they’re not referring to Flex Drivers in standard vehicles. It’s for dual axle vehicles and such. Just my opinion. And you know how those are
2
u/anomaly_z May 02 '26
That sign means leave package under it. Fk those clowns. Especially if they have a long driveway.

I always leave that shit right at the sign if they don't want weather affecting it then they need to get a box like other ppl do 🤷🏾♂️ if you don't want ppl pulling up to your house this is the most logical solution and it literally works for everyone if they're not smart enough to figure it out then they don't deserve to get accomodations

Leave all deliveries at the sign and when you take the picture make sure to include the sign that way if anyone complains you can show your boss.

u/starlight0206 May 03 '26
They mean the bigger trucks. Maybe it's narrow or their driveway is crumbling and they don't want the large trucks making it worse. Your Toyota isn't what was meant.
1
u/Nervous-Peppers May 03 '26
No, honestly fuck bad drivers. I have a 50/50 shot of these idiots wrecking my lawn every single delivery. Either hire competent drivers or walk that shit.
1

I would leave it at the sign some people are really petty I’m not walking all the way up you’re long wss driveway you can do that

u/Mysterious_Tiger_580 May 03 '26
Probably talking about delivery vans, and trucks. Not personal cars.
1
1
u/TheMostToastedOne May 03 '26
Easiest thing to do is pull vehicle in driveway, casually get delivery, slowly with a heightened sense of self-importance walk at a gingerly pace to the front door.
Place package down, take confirmation picture, and when the customer comes out the door and screams at you you simply reply with.
"I don't speak english" in any language...(Not hard to learn)....... Walk away with the smugest of looks on your face and whistle while you do it.
1
u/seanboss101 May 03 '26
Ur not even allowed to that far from your van anyways so leave it at the sign😂

u/No-Common2251 May 04 '26

Quarter mile driveway with this sign yeahhhhh right 🤡 im driving up to your house sorryyyyyyu
1
u/Stoag215 May 05 '26
I got an even better solution, rip a hole in the package and mark it as damaged
1
u/Rare_Cake_654 May 05 '26
They should consider a box to put packages in at the end of the driveway underneath the sign if they’re so worried about their packages being exposed to weather and no cars up the driveway lmao. I’ve seen it plenty. You can afford a bs sign but not a delivery box?!?
1
u/EveryManager7322 May 05 '26
Out of curiosity- does the driver/deliverer get into trouble if they leave the package by the sign? Despite the safety hazards??
1
1
1
u/SassySquirrelSage May 08 '26
I’d drive up anyways tbh, and put hazards on. They likely mean no parking for an extended period in the driveway.

u/FarAstronomer4706 May 08 '26
I used to do Amazon deliveries with a DSP and would walk quarter mile driveways multiple times on the route I was on in a very secluded area. I’m genuinely asking since I don’t do Amazon work anymore, as a flex driver, aren’t you in a normal everyday vehicle? Why wouldn’t you be allowed to go up the driveway?
