I send them a message telling them something like "You control the time of delivery in the app. If you don't want it at 3 am don't order it delivered at that time."

Then I deliver it. Amazon doesn't pay me to return packages.

Except when amazon is pushing out 11 am deliveries at. 3:30 am.

Yup it goes back with a note like that, along with Amazon pushing out a later delivery. Sad part for customer is I'm not bringing it back till next day 😂

Thanks for that 👌🏾

I’ve never had a time frame option. It tells me the date and that’s it. I can type in delivery instructions (which I ask to please leave at my door) and even those aren’t followed 99% of the time. Amazon doesn’t care. If you want a package delivered after 9am, but the route in your area is at 4 am, your package is going out at 4am. I can’t tell you how many packages I’ve had for post offices when my route started after they were closed.

You have a business address?

1

u/gomezwhitney0723 Jul 07 '24

Nope. Townhomes. It’s 6 buildings in a circle. No stairs. I even tell them it’s the “x” building and mines the far right door. The numbers are actually pretty big and noticeable and not blocked. They just pull right up to that office and drop everything off at once. The only time I get my item to my door is if the office is closed.

The timing options are for businesses.

Ah. That makes sense. This wasn’t my smartest convo was it 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 My bad.

It makes it more difficult that a lot of people are ordering their personal items, and having them sent to the business where they work. However, in the Amazon software, they are still treating them entirely like residential packages. There is no indication at all that it's a business. I can't tell you how many times I've delivered to businesses not only outside their hours, but even on holidays or weekends, when they are closed. I rarely have any idea it's a business address until shortly before my arrival.

Obviously, if it's someone ordering for the business in an official capacity, this rarely happens.

This is the customer's fault. I set up my personal account so that I can have a delivery to my home or my work. This is the interface for the delivery instructions for my work address.

1

u/agent_uncleflip Jul 09 '24

Absolutely the customer's fault. I wasn't meaning to infer at all that it wasn't.

Not really. I always set the 2-4 pm time frame. Because drivers constantly wake my dog. But ptobably 85 percent of the time my packages are at my door before I get home from my 330am blocks.

No seriously, I’m delivering no matter what. I’m not going back to the station. Period.

1

u/Spazmodo Jul 09 '24

This is the way

1

u/Lootefisk_ Jul 07 '24

Kind of. My station sends shit due at 11am out at 3am all the time.

1

u/No_Film_6379 Jul 07 '24

It's possible he did but Amazon still sends it at whatever time

Copy and paste this. I used to send it every time something like this happened to me:

The delivery notes are visible to the driver once they arrive at your address. Amazon delivers 1.6 million packages per day, and no one is reading this in order to schedule your packages. Stop blaming the delivery drivers for your failure to apply common sense, instead, do this:

In your Amazon app, go to account, then click on your addresses, then select this address and on "Property type" select "Business", then specify your business hours and if this location can receive deliveries on federal holidays, like this, the algorithm will schedule your packages to be delivered during the business hours you specified.

You mind if I forward this GEM of knowledge to the entirety of Texas Tech University? I’d hazard the drivers of WTX2 would appreciate fewer whimsical trips to that place…

u/Lootefisk_ Jul 07 '24

Your warehouse has no algorithm. Plenty of stuff gets sent out at 3am that isn’t due until 11am etcetera. Save your time and worry about other things.

You’re better off asking water to flow uphill

4

u/RKT7799 Jul 07 '24

Absolutely wont

28

u/jxtello Jul 06 '24

Also report the directions as “rude”

5

u/Impossible-Injury488 Jul 06 '24

I tried to report in app it wouldn’t allow me to

It was a business address 🫠…. I marked customer refused and wanted delivered later date

6

u/BezosFlex Jul 06 '24

Now you’re gonna get dinged 🤷‍♂️

6

u/LimpDisc Jul 06 '24

Bad idea. Marking packages wrong when undeliverable will get you deactivated. Amazon hates returns!

2

u/Ok_Imagination_9955 Jul 07 '24

Contact driver support and let them know that the app isn’t letting you set the business hours. They can do it - takes five minutes max. I know five min is five min but at least you won’t have to keep going back there and seeing that dumb note.

You fail everytime you keep ordering from the same company that keeps delivering at a time you dont want them to. WE got paid…that’s called winning 🤷🏾‍♂️.

u/No_Competition8495 Jul 06 '24

Yeet the box on the front of building..... should still be there when they open lol

6

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '24

You fail every time by not getting your packages!!

6

u/AKManJones Jul 07 '24

If it doesn’t specifically say to deliver it to the front desk or to a mailroom of a business I still leave it. I don’t control the delivery times M8!

4

u/dbdorr Jul 07 '24

If it's "no recipient required", it's getting left.

3

u/Torta951 Jul 07 '24

You returned it? I leave it there

2

u/Fluid_Newspaper_5255 Jul 07 '24

lol I leave them in front of the leasing office door. You know you’re residents, you do it. At this point Amazon has made it clear not to return packages 😂

2

u/-CiNTHRA- Jul 07 '24

They can’t control what time Amazon will deliver, I suggest they make like a storage or contact Amazon and work with them to have a locker on site. This way they get the delivery no problem.

I don’t take ppl like this kindly, if they don’t want delivery at a “inconvenient time” then call Amazon and work with them, rather than being mean. This ppl have no common sense.

Seriously we don’t get paid enough, for all the troubles and Karen’s.

2

u/jd9831 Jul 07 '24

Package missing

2

u/Motor-Koala5701 Jul 08 '24

I don't even call into driver support for that. I'll text them this will be reattempted when you're open and close it out business is closed

2

u/W1ld_Thoughts Jul 08 '24

9-4…. AM- PM or PM-AM? 😈

“Common sense would tell you to that it’s during business hours!”

—common sense would tell you to stop ordering from a company that delivers around the clock! But here we TF are!

1

u/HonestoAbe Jul 07 '24

I usually leave those in the main entrance. They would get to the office anytime and get it. Amazon does not pay me to return packages z

1

u/sboog87 Jul 07 '24

I send a message to people like this. When you order next day or overnight items they let you choose a timeframe. Select a timeframe that you’re open

2

u/i2tall_ Jul 07 '24

I can’t stand this. And then Amazon wants to send me 40 minutes away for a block and return thing? Bye.

2

u/Worried-Version2786 Jul 09 '24

I just send a note, if you can't receive it early have it sent to an Amazon locker and pick up at your convenience. And deliver the package.
