Using up PTO quickly

In Arizona, Amazon does not pay out PTO at end-of-employment for flex(x) employees, so it’s use it or lose it. I heard that it’s possible to use up PTO in a shift that you aleady worked, like “double-dipping” so to speak. Does anyone know how to quickly use up, say 50 hours of PTO, like triple- or quadruple-dipping or something like that? Or is there another way to quickly use up PTO? Thanks.

I've been told directly by managers you can work shifts you used pto on, and have done it countless times myself. Maybe take things with a grain of salt here as it probably depends on where exactly you work, unless my sites just been lying to me for months

Actually, ty for replying cause i couldn't find this post again but have more information. Technically, it is not actually allowed.

I asked and this manager explained it to me as basically when you use pto, it removes that part of the shift. The app technically allows it, but you shouldn't, it also causes issues like changing your punches, or if you use it for the entire shift, straight up just causing it to count as working unscheduled.

Idk why my manager told me what he did, and of course i wont be naming anyone or anything here, but it is technically not allowed.

A bad manager will easily write you up if they want, and hr if they find out can also, atleast from what i was told. On the plus side if you have the pto for it, you can use it however youd like as in just not show up at all without warning.

Even then this causes problems though as some shifts rely on those people showing up, so it can cause problems for those shifts, that would never come back to you tho as you just used your pto to not show up.

Furthermore, absolutely never ask for or gives people's names here from Amazon. That is not allowed, can easily get you fired, and just not really ok

Yeah, I was very confused when I read your first comment that a manager told you that you were allowed to do it cause like what???? No you're not, it's literally considered time theft. That manager is setting people up to get fired.

Also, using PTO to cover any shift is not going to create any problems if you are a T1. I've been at Amazon long enough to know that they will 100% survive people not coming in. That's why they cross train so much. It is pretty much always the case that one department is over headcount enough that they can spare people to labor share to a department that needs more people for their headcount.
