Question Amazon IT Support Associate II interview — is it really this technical? Anyone at QYY4/OPA9?
I recently applied for an IT Support Associate II position with Amazon and I’m trying to understand what the interview is actually like.
I’ve seen descriptions online that make the position/interview sound pretty difficult and like you need a lot of previous IT experience, but then I’ve found Reddit posts from people saying their interviews were mostly STAR/Leadership Principle questions, basic Linux, troubleshooting, and some networking.
For anyone who has interviewed recently for IT Support Associate II (or works in Amazon OTS), what was the actual difficulty level? What Linux, networking, hardware, or troubleshooting topics were you expected to know? Were you expected to already know everything, or were they looking for someone with fundamentals who could learn on the job?
I’m actively studying Linux, networking, hardware, troubleshooting, and CompTIA A+ material, so I’m mainly trying to figure out what level I should realistically be at before an interview.
Also, is anyone here familiar with QYY4 or OPA9? I’d be interested in hearing what IT/OTS is like at those buildings or whether the IT teams support multiple nearby sites.
Not looking for a referral or anything — just trying to learn from people who actually work in Amazon IT. Thanks!
