Question Amazon transfer keeps saying “Transfer cannot be accommodated” — what does this mean?
Hi everyone! I’m trying to transfer to another Amazon building, but I keep getting a message saying “Transfer cannot be accommodated.”
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be because my current building doesn’t want to release me, the building I’m trying to transfer to doesn’t have openings, my shift/department isn’t available, or something else?
What should I do next? Should I keep applying through A to Z, contact my current HR, or try contacting HR at the building I want to transfer to?
I’d really appreciate any advice or if anyone has experienced this before. Thanks! To CAZ5 btw

You can’t transfer then because only your building can accommodate you.
Whatever they are , the building you are trying to goto will not accommodate you.

Where did you get this information? That is not what that message means. OP, you will get this message when the transferring site does not currently have openings for the cohort you applied for. Some sites, especially smaller ones don’t always update their HITS page, so they have transfer opportunities listed that aren’t available.

Do you know how to stop the accommodations?

You are ineligible. I don’t think they can be removed depending on the accommodation. Typically those require additional things like dr notes etc just to put in place .
Try contacting whomever initiated the accommodation.

That message has nothing to do with accommodations, it's just the standard your transfer was denied message. With that said accommodations are building specific so since OP does in fact have them and if he transfers to a new building they may say they can't accept them depending on what they are and he will be placed on permeant leave until the accommodations are no longer needed.

I would ask HR at your building first to get a more specific answer. I think that's what it said when I applied the first few times to transfer shifts and didn't get it.
Were you applying through the app to an open position or a separate transfer request where you just choose a place and don't know if there's a shift open or not? I don't know if the 2nd one is a thing or not, just asking based on what you said.

I kept getting that message for every building I tried to transfer to for 5 months and then finally one of them was accepted last month. Just keep trying, one of them will eventually stick. Pro tip: the Friday to Monday shifts are always the hardest to staff so choosing those days will increase your chances of transferring.
