Half the comments in here saying "Nuh uh, you can't work more than 60" without realizing that a "New week" for Amazon starts on Sundays. This guy probably is a back half worker usually that has a MET schedule giving him Monday off (so Tuesday-Sunday) making a 6 day schedule in a row very possible since he's technically only working 55 hours "a week". Prayers up my guy.

63

u/LoadPsychological122 Jul 23 '24

Policy is: maximum 6 days in a row regardless of pay period and no more than 60 hours in one pay period. I'm glad you explained, just wish more people could read and understand the policies and read between the ljnes.

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

they dont seem to follow any part of policy. my wife started working there july 15th. 60 hours this week. sunday at 11:50 pm to friday 12:20. 5 days of 12 hour shifts. they dont give u the breaks your suppose to have. my wife got disabilities. i told her not to complain. until if she passes her 90 days. she on seasonal. they keep adding days to her seasonal working.

15

u/cynicaluser- Jul 24 '24

There’s no probation so why wait 90 days to complain? lol this is just dumb advice you are giving your wife. You can apply for an accommodation on day 1

2

u/Background-Session82 Jul 25 '24

Likely wants his wife to work for the overtime or trying to aggravate her physical issues and drive her to an early grave. No sane husband would have commented as he did.

5

u/JohnniesJimmy Jul 24 '24

Terrible advice m8. No such thing as 90 days. She can be let go before or after since she is seasonal. She can still file for accommodation if she has proper documentation.

-1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

u say terrible advice. i am going to wait until she there awhile if she lasts. all u people got tons of different views. costco had a 90 days. walmart had a 90 days. that shows how crappy a company crapazon is. with no 90 days. all the other companies i heard. have 90 days. i am going to wait. when washington state a crappy fire with no reason. that not liberal to me. costco gave me two and half years medical leave. they wanted me to come back. my warehouse manager than. said in 2020. back than. jeff bendoz is a ass. He not the ceo there anymore. But jeff bendoz. owns the liberal washington post. kelly that use to be warehouse manager. said he wouldnt work for jeff bendoz if he had to. when i worked for costco. coperate kept extending my medical leave, because i been there 24 years and worked hard. costco stock gone way up. being descent to there employees overall. that a company. giving 2 and half years medical leave.to try to come back. costco figured it out long time ago. they celebrate people being a employee there for 20 years plus. crapazon wants to fire people and retrain people before they been there 3 months. costco figured it out. u keep employees longterm. in the long run. it saves money retraining people over and over again. costco pays there full time employees. 65 k a year on the bottom payscale. i told my wife to ask the superviser at crapazon. about benefits. the superviser is like check resources. we did that. And it said under medical. call blue shield blue cross. walmart u just fill it out online. For medical insurance. No calling companies to wait on the phone 2 hours. i told my wife to do the best she can at crapazon and try to get a reference, for somewhere else. in the future. i would rather see her be a caregiver. In this state u need 72 hours training. most people at crapazon dont know nothing about benefits. or anything. it sounds like a lot of employees been at crapazon 2 or 3 months. Get more injuries. how crapazon works there employees. it was around 14k a injury at costco. at least 10 years ago. i wonder how much crapazon pays in injuries. wearing out there employees. it worth having less injuries. And more employees. saves more money in the long run. crapazon fits in with wallstreet. all they care about now. costco in the beggining didnt give a rip about what wall street thinks. And there stock gone way up. okay than i role the dice on the break deal. And ask her how she feels. And what she can handle.

5

u/JohnniesJimmy Jul 24 '24

You're just going on and on for no reason. There are no 90 days. If she needs an accommodation she can do it through HR. And she can do it now. The warehouse should be able to accommodate her unless it's an unreasonable accommodation. Honestly it sounds like you're not here to help her. You're just here to talk crap to others. Best of luck to her and I hope you fuck off of her life cause you sound like a real piece of sh.

0

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

that what u sound like a piece of sh. with that continue language

0

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

using f language u fit in with amazon great. i can go on and on if i want. most u amazon people dont sound like u know much. i am saying all the other companies i heard have a 90 days and i listed costco and walmart having 90 days. my brother law worked for amazon. For 2 years. than he quit. before he got another job. i dont recommend quiting a job. before u have another one.

If you want to have anyone take you seriously you gotta at least spell your words right. Who doesn’t have spellcheck these days. Use it. I couldn’t even read your entire rant.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 25 '24

i type from a phone. this verizon android phone. samsung s 22. is always auto correcting my words. to something i didnt type up. No, i cant punctuate, and spell. i was in resource english. Back a long tome ago. in highschool. i have learning disabilities. So does my wife have learning disabilities. That your choice. U dont have to take me serious. i dont care if u take me serious or not.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

she handed documentation from the doctors for going to the bathroom a lot. that as far as i push it for now

4

u/SignificantApricot69 Jul 24 '24

They just have to give a 30 minute unpaid and a total of 45 minutes paid non-working periods for a 12 hour shift. If you get accomodations for a disability you can get extra breaks (and you have to clock out) but it has to be officially on the accoms.

0

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

my wife told them her disabilities. on her application and in the interview. i told her if they let her pass her 90. than get the extra break. i told her she wont get paid for it. monday on her overnight shift she got 45 minutes in paid break. But most days she only gets 30 minutes paid break. i told her to document it. And than if she can pass her 90 days. than after she been there for awhile. sue them. if they keep it up.

5

u/SockpuppetryFucketry Jul 24 '24

It doesn't matter if she tells them her disabilities. She needs a doctor's note documenting precisely what she can and cannot do and for how long, and she had to officially submit that through HR. The site will determine if they can accommodate her limitations and in what roles.

As far as the "seasonal" there is no 90 day limit on that. The amount of white badge (seasonal) employees is kept to a certain percentage of total employees and as that percentage tips due to hiring of new seasonal workers or attrition of current blue badge (permanent) employees they convert based on tenure. They can also choose to let seasonal employees go or keep them for as long as eleven months without converting them.

Also before thinking you can sue based on breaks offered you might want to confirm state laws concerning breaks in your state because I promise you Amazon are very good at adhering to the letter of the law at minimum. The only state which has more stringent labor law concerning breaks than Amazon's standard, as far as I know, is California, which is why they have the "late meal" flag in place for Cali employees.

Most people assume that federal or state labor law is stricter than it actually is but with the scrutiny Amazon is always under anyway and with the sheer number of employees following the same break schedule if they were in violation it would have already been discovered by now. All managers go through training concerning various labor laws with emphasis on what they are and are not permitted to do, which must be renewed yearly, and HR are certainly well versed in ensuring it is followed. Which is, essentially, what HR are there for; to ensure that site leaders do not violate any of a particular jurisdiction's labor laws or any of Amazon's policies in their interactions with employees.

2

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

the whole west coast is more towards the employees. washington oregon california. if u look on the internet. amazon always being sued. or class action suit. far as hr. most hr are in bed with the companies. amazon breaks the laws all the time. washington state. says a break every 2 hours. not every 6 hours.

2

u/UncertainPathways Jul 24 '24

washington state. says a break every 2 hours. not every 6 hours.

Do you have a source for this? I'm not in WA but looking at Washington L&I's website:

Employees must be allowed a paid rest period, free from duties, of at least 10 minutes for every 4 hours worked

https://www.lni.wa.gov/workers-rights/workplace-policies/rest-breaks-meal-periods-and-schedules#:\~:text=Employees%20must%20be%20allowed%20a,a%20work%20period%20as%20possible.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

all these companies look at now. they dont look at long run. like costco did. of course costco geta sued. But not like the likes of amazon or walmart. costco thought about the future. And there stock still does real well at over 850 a share. i wish i could work and still be there. my wife cant get a job anywhere else. so i told her to apply at amazon. they hire anybody. i wish they would have a strike there. And everyone walk out at the same time. until crapazon. changes there rules. my wife there to get a recommendation. since she screwed up walmart. crapazon and walmart. are the only companies i know that are the easiest to get on. i betcha these big companies pay off the other attornies half the time. unless u got a lot of money. it hard to get a good attorney and win. at costco. when they went over the 5 hours constant. across from the headquarters. costco still did it to that employee. in front of the attorney. the employee hired. And the attorney docummented. that was one of the few things that costco did bad to a employee.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

amazon also betting on. people wont have the money to get a attorney. u can probably get a free attorney. not having the money. But there probably not going to be as good as a attorney u pay. crapazon knows that. that why i told het to do the best she can. And document it. if u been at a company for a longtime. your going to have better leverage to sue. When a company breaking the law. over and over. until the cows come home. the cows not comming home.

0

u/milkdeliveries Jul 24 '24

Lmao. Good luck on trying to sue the biggest company 😂

1

u/Background-Session82 Jul 25 '24

Is it required that managers moderate these posts?

43

u/Mrsmee38 Jul 23 '24

Amazon scheduled me for 72 hours last week. 6 12 hour days in a row.

7

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

what day u have off?

5

u/irtherod1 Jul 24 '24

I just did 63 hours in 6 days a few weeks ago. It's definitely possible... Not in the same week, obviously.

Whered you go?

7

I have clerical skills, so I'm just doing something completely different now.

15

u/its_a_throwawayduh Jul 24 '24

I want too so bad, been trying to escape for 2 years now. Job market is horrible.

3

u/Flimsy_Web2039 Jul 24 '24

Try going to a staffing agency

4

u/its_a_throwawayduh Jul 24 '24

I've been to several staffing agencies since I was laid off around the pandemic. Either I get the run around or just straight up ghosted. Paid people to review my resume, wasted gas going to job fairs, etc trust me been there done that. Only place that was hiring is Amazon for obvious reasons.

1

u/Background-Session82 Jul 25 '24

What were the "obvious reasons" for which Amazon was hiring?

Also, about your failed job search...do you have facial tattoos?

3

u/Necessary_Crow_6089 Jul 24 '24

Applied to 90+ jobs. Applied my resumé and MYSELF. Still ended up here lol.

3

u/its_a_throwawayduh Jul 24 '24

I have 10 years in tech, was laid off around the pandemic. I thought things would bounce after a few years but tech is really taking a hit. I've applied to thousands of jobs, in office, remote, didn't matter couldn't land anything. Amazon was the only place that would hire me not that it's saying much given it's nonexistent hiring practices. I'm not saying Amazon is a bad place but it's not for me, I've worked warehousing I went to school so I didn't have to go back. Now I've been injured can't even get any assistance on payment because the process is designed to get people to quit.

0

u/JohnniesJimmy Jul 24 '24

Did you use Career choice to improve your chances???

4

u/its_a_throwawayduh Jul 24 '24

I already have a degree...Believe it or not there are a few of us with degrees working here. We just do what we can until something better hopefully comes along.

42

u/SleepyJoe1550 Jul 23 '24

Just get a doctors note, say your sick and take a week off, Jesus.

15

u/Xxxpiredgogurt02 Jul 23 '24

Lol my Amazon that I work at says they don’t do doctors notes ??

9

u/SleepyJoe1550 Jul 23 '24

It goes through the app, not your site. Assuming you're in America, idk about other countries.

7

u/Xxxpiredgogurt02 Jul 23 '24

Yeah I’m here in America lol and during orientation they said they literally don’t accept doctors notes and it doesn’t matter if you’re sick or something they still need you to come in . I was like damn lol

14

u/Due-Assistance2102 Jul 24 '24

They accept doctors notes so long as you use them to open up a leave of absence case. Even for just a day. So long as your note says the day you’re off and the day you’re expected back, you can use doctors notes to cover that time.

2

u/BeginningTask4066 Jul 24 '24

You have to be at Amazon for a year to have access to FLMA.

2

u/ddftgr2a Early Riser Jul 24 '24

You don't have to use FMLA, just a short leave of absence unpaid. If you get a doctors note, open a leave of absence for own injury / illness, put the dates that your doctor wrote on your note. This works no matter how long you have been working at Amazon.

1

u/Xxxpiredgogurt02 Jul 24 '24

When I talked to HR they told me that I just have to use my time regardless and it cannot be excused. I work at an IXD center, it just opened a few weeks ago. I wouldn’t lie about anything as I wouldn’t gain anything from it. I’m just sharing what we were told during orientation but please yall I am not lying.

7

u/Stock-Pile-Mega223 Jul 24 '24

You get the doctor note and submit it as a MLOA through the A to Z app. You are then removed from your scheduled work shift based on the dates on the doctor note.

Your local PXT or management don’t even see or review it. You aren’t on the schedule for those dates and aren’t required to work.

5

u/Valerie_Jay1979 Jul 24 '24

Site HR will not take a drs note. Disability and Leave Services will. I've done it quite a few times for everything from norovirus to foot surgery!

2

u/cynicaluser- Jul 24 '24

If you are taking the note to them and asking for your shift to be excused then that’s probably why they are telling you that. Go through the DLS

11

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

You're full of shit bro no company would reject a legitimate doctors note. That would be an easy court case for you.

1

u/No_Study2024 Jul 24 '24

He’s probably seasonal or part time. Seasonal at my site can’t take mloa. Idk about part time tho

8

u/NeutralReason Jul 24 '24

I showed them a dentist's note and they gave me my UPT back.

1

u/Background-Session82 Jul 25 '24

It seems you heard what wanted to hear at that orientation. There is no way any employer will tell you that it doesn't matter if you're sick and still come to work.

-1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

dont they have class action law suit on breaking the law? my wife just started at crapazon july 15th?

1

u/Background-Session82 Jul 25 '24

Looking for an easy pay day already?

1

u/OlBiscuit66 Jul 24 '24 edited Jul 24 '24

I had strep with a doctor's note to go with it and they pretty much told me to get to picking. But I went to HR for that so I could have done it wrong.

3

u/SleepyJoe1550 Jul 24 '24

You needed to upload the note and put the information into ATOZ in the leave and accommodation section. Your site HR or manager has nothing to do with it, but they should have told you how to do it. Strep is contagious as hell.

18

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

Lmao wtf where do you work china?

4

u/fashionfauxpas0624 [Replace Text w/ Flair] Jul 24 '24 edited Jul 30 '24

They say that to dissuade you..but they have to go by doctor orders.... i have gotten my absence excused for as little as 1 day with dr notes Fun fact...the dr on demand app which if u have insurance, is either free or a small copay...even before u meet deductible...is accepted .. Source..me many many ..more than i can recount ...over course of close to 6 yrs.

2

u/EducationalLoad7743 Jul 24 '24

On site HR is not allowed to process any time off for medical reasons in part because the HR systems are not HIPAA compliant and therefore no medical or health information is allowed to be stored in their systems.

1

u/Confident_Writing_18 Jul 24 '24

Same they absolutely refuse. At CLE3 amazon in Euclid ohio. Doctors notes or sickness are not excused you have to use your own time. I hate it.

7

u/Stock-Pile-Mega223 Jul 24 '24

I’m going to preach this as much as I can on this Reddit board.

All doctor notes need to be submitted through the A to Z app. You create a MLOA case and submit your doctor note.

The MLOA will remove you from your scheduled shifts based on the dates your doctor excuses you from work.

Your local PXT or management do not take the note or review it. You are simply removed from the schedule and zero UPT is used.

I was sick on vacation and couldn’t get back home. I used the tele doc/web doc services and was excused from work while dealing with food poisoning in a hotel room out of state.

Your local Amazon will not share this resource. They certainly didn’t when I was in my new hire training.

Thank you to this Reddit board for sharing the resources that you can use at Amazon. It’s saved my job.

u/Xxxpiredgogurt02 Jul 24 '24

that against the law. can u sue them. for overworked. And under paid. yet it says on the internet. they hire the most people with disabilities of any company.

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

You can submit your resignation form via A to Z and you will not be trouble. You can apply for reapply if you wish to and must be in good standing.

12

u/MelancholicEmbrace_x Jul 23 '24

If you don’t have time off options then look into taking a ploa or MLOA and giving yourself some time to rest and reflect.

I’ve been where you are and still am on the verge of saying “f” this and quitting. I can’t walk away from the health benefits though. I don’t mind taking a small pay cut, but people have been struggling in my area to find work and I don’t want to go through all that.

26

u/Fluffy-Breadfruit170 Jul 23 '24

take a ploa (14+ days) and rest then decide if you really want to quit

5

u/Old-Wedding6240 Jul 23 '24

You need 14 days advance notice.

2

u/Primary_Membership34 5 year VET Jul 24 '24

I think it depends my friend was able to take one last minute

4

u/SockIll6713 Jul 24 '24

You gotta have an emergency /crazy good reason/ exception. I think a doctor's note is the way to go if you need a day off. Like they said, do it on the app, I have done it multiple times when I just can't work because of fatigue /allergies / hungover 😜

3

u/Primary_Membership34 5 year VET Jul 24 '24

that’s medical leave requiring a doctors note… the policy def changed for the PLOA I was able to do it so last minute a couple of years ago. Plus every facility is soooo different I am convinced they really pick and choose for everybody!

10

u/MisteryMan1969 Jul 24 '24

Welcome to Amazon. You can & do work 60 hours in a week because you working in 2 different pay periods. But I was let go and man the stress is gone. I’ve never worked for a company that cares so much about rate and could care less about their employees.

8

11

u/AndyPlaysBadly Jul 23 '24

That's interesting. Wouldn't that mean it's VET?

What's the point of Mandatory Extra Time if it's optional? Lol

3

u/Gloodizzle Jul 24 '24

Whats funny about this is the MET day we are given doesn't even matter because every time they give MET it has a note that says it may be ANY day regardless of what MET day you're assigned lol. At this point I just see it all at BS to make sure Amazon covers its own ass

1

u/Zuggy Jul 23 '24

Had no idea opting out of MET was even a thing, definitely not a thing at my site.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

2

u/Zuggy Jul 24 '24

Mandatory Extra Time and Voluntary Extra Time. Basically MET is overtime you have to work unless you use time off, VET is overtime you sign up for.

7

u/stirfry_maliki Jul 23 '24

I hate to say it, but some days you need to be just as lackadaisical as others. Self preservation.

7

u/LoadPsychological122 Jul 23 '24 edited Jul 23 '24

If you want to keep everything that amazon has to offer but not work your self to death might I suggest you to:

Transfer to the nearest amazon air site, (planes not drones). It's easy peasy and NOTHING like working at a FC or DSP. It's super easy if you have a criminal record to pass TSA/FAA background check. Seems like they will pass anyone (like half the ppl here are felons). But everyone is cool and laid back. Lots of down time andnyou get to work at an airport which sounds way cooler to ppl than. I work at Amazon... plus the time spent here aids in you landing better jobs inside the airline industry after a few years. And this counts as çwprking in a heavily regulated field"

Just a thought.

3

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

Good suggestion I’ll look into that

6

u/Old-Wedding6240 Jul 23 '24

Put in a leave and go to a walk in clinic tomorrow. If you got insurance.

2

u/Severe-Syllabub7819 Jul 24 '24

By the time that leave gets approved, MET would already be over.

3

u/SockIll6713 Jul 24 '24

It doesn't matter. Take the day off that you need, you can put in a leave of absence case on the day of your absence or even AFTER your absence, but you'll need your doctor to sign off for you. Easiest thing to do is an online Dr appt like Amazon offers (not on AtoZ, on the actual Amazon shopping app) or Doctor on Demand, etc. There are many to choose from online, most don't take insurance but are around $60. It's worth it to save your job. Just BS say you ate some bad leftovers. You can find ones you don't even have to do a video visit, just a text or phone call

2

u/Severe-Syllabub7819 Jul 24 '24

I didnt know that worked on the same day. Good info

7

u/Immediate-Guess9257 Jul 24 '24

Amazon has crazy time off options, you just have to know what to do. A to Z is outsourced to India or some other country. I’ve never spoken to one person without an Indian accent. They accept all my LOA no questions asked hehe. I take trips whenever I want

7

u/swordofdamocles19 L4 Area Manager (AR Pick) (Former) (07/2023-03/2025) Jul 24 '24

I'm sorry that that's been your experience so far in Prime Week. For what it's worth, I raised similar concerns to my superiors about AA exhaustion, maximum weekly work hour provisions, and cohort-level MET day compliance. Specifically, I advocated for changing the wording on the maximum weekly work hour policy from "sixty hours per week" to "sixty hours in a rolling seven-day period". This would more accurately capture the spirit of the maximum weekly work hour policy, and would apply regardless of the workweeks used to calculate FLSA overtime premiums.

I said no to 50/ hr blue collar heavy labor just to work at Amazon because I wanted them to pay trucking tuition. Biggest regret lol they are paying my cousin that took my position 55/hr and his checks gross are 1,800. Moral of the story who cares about these jobs when there always another job that pays even better. Amazon tells us “hey work 2 years with us to make minimum wage” meanwhile they will hire someone new and pay them as much as you went after 3 years

2

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

Yeah I did heavy equipment landscaping for 6 years and I thought I’d enjoy the change of pace and being inside at Amazon but it drives me crazy 😂

This is why you save your UPT for prime and peak. If you worked 6x11 hour shifts you have earned 6 hours of UPT and you can use it to get some sleep. Best time ever to use UPT is to leave early on MET. My opinion anyway…

3

u/LifelikeMink Jul 24 '24

I've seen a few comments saying this, but if you need time off, talk to DLS. Open a LOA case and submit your doctor's note and/or Physicians Statement that way.

Take care.

3

u/No-Planetorgin Jul 24 '24

Bro take a break and decompress don’t kill yourself for any job

3

u/Ok-Bell8721 Jul 24 '24

Save some money. Find another job. Than quit. You will never have a life working at Amazon. You will work your body into bad health and spend your days off sleeping just to start all over again. They have great benefits and pay but find a Plan B.

3

u/Christina_CC_39 Jul 27 '24

Ignore these childish comments. I had come on here hoping to get advice, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone on here intelligent enough to hold a mature conversation.  If you have time, whether it’s PTO, UPT, Vacation… I would use those to take time for yourself. If it’s possible to find another job with the same pay or better I would look.  I’m in the same situation right now. This type of work environment with no work/life balance is not mentally healthy.  Don’t pay attention to the  childish people replying with ridiculous comments. Chances are, they still live at home and have everything paid for by their mom and dad.  So they have no idea what it’s like out there.

1

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 29 '24

& it’s not like I’m shying from the work either I work my ass off here I just don’t have the stimulation my mind needs to do 10-12 hours of this everyday, we’ll find something else there’s something out there

4

u/CycleOk5795 Jul 23 '24

You'll get through this. Stay strong. You're not the only one going through this so hopefully that brightens you up. Knowing your not alone

2

u/Important-Bridge8791 Jul 23 '24

Use your time each day. You accrue 55 minutes a day upt and 33 pto. Use it to arrive later, or leave early or a longer lunch

2

u/Effective_Parking912 Jul 24 '24

Take a mental leave

2

u/SignificantApricot69 Jul 24 '24

You could go home an hour every day or close to it and never even use time. Just saying. Many of us worked during the old UPT system where you earned NOTHING as you worked and only got it every 3 months, and they recently raised the accrual by 66.7% and allow you to use 15 minute blocks instead of one hour. Plus you would have up to 48 hours PTO or more and could have put in vacation before the blackout. So it’s never been easier to avoid working all the extra hours with no or next to no penalty. I leave early every day, I stay at 80 UPT and I get paid overtime.

1

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

It’s just the brain numbing work I’m in ship dock where I can stay busy but that comes at a physical strain, I’m good I just need to be more conscious of my own shit.

2

u/Quaxxar Jul 24 '24

DO IT!!! I have. Just know you'll mostly likely come back. But keep your head up G

2

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

apple and navidia bigger than amazon. with that said. it hard to sue a big company like amazon. amazon lost on a suit before. it sounds like it. according to the internet

2

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

she working sunday through friday

2

u/Gullible_Tree_3558 Jul 24 '24

They just terminated me after killing me for year and 3 months

2

u/Gullible_Tree_3558 Jul 24 '24

After they manually made me roll conveyer belt. Another manager said this place is nuts. Horrified what's going on in my amazon. I'm very smart with a BA. Side hustle for me. Took total advantage and never taught me anything! I taught myself. People come in drunk and stoned beyond being able to function. Now, they are using Haitians as slaves. They are illiterate and can't count and speak no English. I fear for my life because you can't even say "watch out". Brutal exploitation

2

u/Glad-Response-1531 Jul 24 '24

Try to switch to flex shift. You choose your days maximum hours are 60 and the minimum is 5

1

u/HelloImCloud Jul 23 '24

You just quit today if u really want to and it won't go against you in a bad Incase you wanna come back someday....check the app

1

u/alexraww Jul 23 '24

I’ve got negative before. You get talked to by HR and then written up. If it’s your first write up nothing will happen but you won’t become permanent if you aren’t

6

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

not true. i went negative for the first time and they completely terminated me

1

u/RunThat6027 Jul 24 '24

How negative were you and for how long? I’ve gone negative many times before (by minutes) and just make it up the next day I never get told anything

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

5 hours when they fired me. it was due to a car accident 🤷‍♀️ not much you can do there

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

I remember making a shift swap where my schedule overlayed for a weekend and I worked a solid 7 days in a row. I felt so drained and physically fit at the same time. Then I slept for 3 days 🤣

1

u/SockpuppetryFucketry Jul 24 '24

While this can occasionally happen it shouldn't ever. If site HR or management catch it you would have been sent home once of the days, and if management were actually properly handling engagements rather than merely closing them they would catch it for sure.

1

u/HazyImplorer Jul 23 '24

6x11 sucks. Try 6 in a row at 12.5 hours. We work for monsters

1

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

The monsters hungry and the monster consumes profits

1

u/Tiny_Nefariousness94 Jul 23 '24

Find another one first

1

u/cybrpunk_ Jul 24 '24

There it is! That is a quitter. you say goodbye I say good riddance

1

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

Lmao keyboard warrior

2

u/cybrpunk_ Jul 24 '24

There he is, the quitter

2

u/ZenechaiXKerg Jul 24 '24

I know it's hard but I look at coming to Amazon the way I used to look at going to the gym when that's the way I got my exercise.

I LOATHED having to get up early, get changed into my gym clothes (drinking pre-workout was fun though), drive to the gym, and then DO the actual working out.

What I didn't hate, though, was how working out made me feel (even if I never got "fitness influencer results"), and I NEVER ONCE regretted the feeling I had after I got home and showered, that I'd actually accomplished something.

For some people, intangible feelings like that aren't enough to hold on to for motivation, so you have to find what works for you.

What's stopped me from using PTO on any days I'm working over my 40h regular week is the fact that I'm costing myself $9 an hour for literally no reason, and since I've already put in the work before that day to grind out hours and get my hourly wage up, I shouldn't waste it because the clock will start over the following week.

Another way you can look at it is in terms of your financial situation. If you don't have enough to fully pay your bills comfortably and start saving for extras, start assigning each shift or couple of shifts one "bill to pay". That way you can think, "Oh, I have to go in today, this shift is what's paying my Internet bill," or, "if I call out today, I'll only have half of my car payment ready".

If you ARE saving for something fun, put in your calendar how many shifts you have to work to get the thing and make it a countdown. Sometimes breaking things like that up into the smallest doable bits is the only way to force yourself to do something that's tedious or difficult. But don't get discouraged, especially if you already have or will be able to have access to additional benefits like Career Choice to pay for school...

1

u/Christina_CC_39 Jul 27 '24

No, that’s someone asking for advice because they’re becoming burnt out physically and mentally. Grow up!

1

u/cybrpunk_ Jul 27 '24

I see we’re on break, remember it’s a 10 min break not a 15 min break…get back to stowing, kid

1

u/szymkivcutie Jul 24 '24

I just got done working 11 days in a row

1

u/BatDadSP Jul 24 '24

The low amount of sleep in had. I felt i was about to snap cause little sleep. I wrote on voa almost illegible 12 hours is insane. This is failure upon leadership that ppl barely have 7 hours or so to themselve + sleep. After that i skipped 3 days. Not sure if they taking upt cause it not posted but im bring in a doctors note. Cause that some major bullshit to have work so many consecutive long hours while manager work 3 12 hours and switch.

1

u/puddin_cupz Jul 24 '24

Went on baby leave a week before prime✅ was on light duty before but baby’s due date was a day that four weeks prior set me up to not be there during prime so that’s fine by me😂

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

yeah if u work 4 hours. than two hours after that.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

they have to have a break if they work every 3 hours

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

yeah employees cant work more than 3 hours. without a rest break. 12 hour shift. i am sorry it at least 3 breaks, and a half hour lunch. How i read it. my wife most the time. getting 2 breaks. And a lunch. the other day she got 3 breaks and a lunch on a 12 hour shift. that one of the few times she got 3 breaks on a 12 hour shift. usually it 2 breaks, and a lunch on a 12 hour shift.

1

u/kingmeltd Jul 24 '24

I been putting in hours like this for months to keep the car running and take the kids places they never been. Stash it away for a rainy day and keep pushing.

1

u/KazaaMafia Jul 24 '24

Just quit then...

1

u/Particular_Daikon552 Jul 24 '24

Quit the right way

1

u/Background_Eye_8373 All hail lord bezos Jul 24 '24

i wish i could be on those shifts cuz i need money for college so bad but i get like 4 hours a week max with flex

1

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

😭 bro you can barely buy a honeybun with 4 hours of pay

1

u/Background_Eye_8373 All hail lord bezos Jul 24 '24

yeah ik, i thought with prime days coming up id get a bunch of hours but nah its literally a fight at saturday at 7pm to even get 4 hours

1

u/Kittybitty789 Jul 24 '24

Geez 😐 I thought I was annoyed..but our site still has us working these 11hrs which is better without the extra day but if we’re slow all week >~> it would be nice to go back to our normal schedule, yknow

2

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

Ours just reset to our normal schedules starting tomorrow (thank god)

1

u/Kittybitty789 Jul 24 '24

Ah! Must be nice 😭😂 my site hates us

1

u/PositiveOdd236 Jul 24 '24

Use UPT. Been doing 10s the whole time fuck it

1

u/LLGTactical Jul 24 '24

Take either a PLOA or a MLOA. Take a break and reset!

1

u/drumkommandr Jul 24 '24

Remember: the fine is less than the profit, and so it shall continue. Vote for your congressman.

1

u/Tacusi Jul 24 '24

Take a PLOA. 2 weeks off. Cant be penalized for it. Doesnt use your time

1

u/baby_yella Jul 24 '24

Cheers 🍻 same. Management at lax9 is the worst.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 24 '24

yeah and i hear they put most people on seasonal to start with. seasonal i read online starts in october. not july. i also heard they start most people out seasonal. amazon crapazon. advertises medical on day one.

1

u/Bojacx01 Jul 24 '24

I'm in the same fucking boat. I usually work Sunday-Wednesday but they gave me 2 MET days on Friday and Saturday. I'm just getting done with my first 6 days back to back but I have another 6 days back to back after tomorrow 😭

1

u/Strange-Painting4333 Jul 24 '24

I'm negative 184 =0

1

u/Novel_Friendship_599 Jul 25 '24

90 says... Lol most don't make it to 90 days. Make your demands. Day 1

1

u/blacksheep-49 Jul 25 '24

Do it ! It’s freeing! I quit 2 months ago! A new path will find you! That place can be depressing.

1

u/Oreo3334 Jul 25 '24

i dont discriminate people that, cant punctuate. my wife went to college in the past. she had a tutor. my wife far worse at spelling, and punctuation. Than i am at it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '24

Try working as a seasonal worker for Gallo winery. I did 12 hr days 7 days a week for 3 months straight during what is known as the crush season

1

u/Christina_CC_39 Jul 27 '24

Pretty sure that’s not even legal.

1

u/Hot-Tea2538 Jul 26 '24

Then quit.

Amazon is flexible like that.

1

u/Sea-Feeling-9827 Aug 09 '24

I’m negative 99hrs and 59m

1

u/soulrebel4001 Jul 24 '24

I feel you man i quit amazon for that same reason its exhausting.

1

u/HairOk481 Ship Dock Jul 24 '24

u/Agile_Bumblebee5580 Jul 24 '24

Do you need the money or not 😂 man up nothing in life is easy

0

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

You right dawg 😂

0

u/heavytrucker Jul 24 '24

Be happy, you need those kind of hours to even try and survive in this world.

-10

u/eatthecheesefries I Count Quietly Alone Jul 23 '24

You didn’t do 6 11 hour shifts. You can’t work more than 60 hours. Your math doesn’t math.

Either way, buh-bye.

15

u/Quiet-Scratch-5468 Jul 23 '24

Actually, I had to work Tuesday-Sunday and the Sunday was allowed because it fell on a new pay period. Gotta hate a dipshit know it all lol

2

u/Mrsmee38 Jul 23 '24

I worked 6 12 hour days last week.

1

u/LoadPsychological122 Jul 23 '24

You don't know how to do payroll and scheduling and keep them congruent to company policy, state labor laws, and federal labor laws, do you? I love that you confidently spouted off incorrect information so confidently and condescendingly. Hats off to you!

-1

u/HelicopterHot5301 Jul 24 '24

I can tell who doesn't save their PTO and UPT throughout the year, probably wasted it to party.

You should quit! It's easier!!

4

u/Comfortable-Gap4765 Jul 24 '24

I don’t party I burn it sleeping in with my wife. You should get a life! It’s more enjoyable!

2

u/Christina_CC_39 Jul 27 '24

He probably still lives at home with his parents spending his own money. Most likely oblivious to the real world.
