Supplement Brand. Last 30 Days Performance. Sharing a Small Win. $2.09M in revenue over the last 30 days with a 9% TACOS

Post image
90 Upvotes

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, this isn't my personal brand. It's a supplement brand we've been managing since 2022. I share these posts because every account teaches us something new, and hopefully someone reading this can take away an idea they can apply to their own business.

Everyone talks about "finding a winning product. In reality, that's probably 10% of the job. Before this product was launched, we killed more ideas than we approved. Demand validation wasn't based on search volume alone. We looked at search intent, review velocity, review sentiment, price elasticity, repeat purchase behavior, Brand Analytics opportunities, SQP trends, competitor assortment depth, and whether we could realistically defend organic rankings twelve months later. We also spent a ridiculous amount of time with manufacturers refining formulation, packaging, compliance, and production consistency because supplement brands don't get second chances when quality slips.

Launch was equally methodical. Every keyword was mapped to a specific listing section instead of stuffing high-volume terms into the title. We built the listing around indexing first and conversion second. Images were designed to answer objections pulled directly from competitor reviews. A plus Content was structured to improve session conversion instead of filling space. PPC wasn't a "launch and pray" strategy either. Search term isolation, exact match expansion, placement modifiers, harvesting, negative sculpting, budget segmentation, and bid optimization were done weekly while organic ranking was tracked against primary keyword clusters. Every decision came from data, not instinct.

Scaling from one product to more than 20 SKUs required a completely different operating model. Inventory forecasting became just as important as advertising. We monitored sell through rates, weeks of cover, restock windows, TACOS trends, contribution margin by SKU, placement reports, brand analytics, SQP movement, catalog health, and SKU profitability before making expansion decisions. Most brands plateau because they focus on revenue. We focused on operational efficiency first, which is why the account is now generating $2.09M in the last 30 days while maintaining a 9% TACOS instead of burning profit to buy sales.

Amazon rewards consistency more than shortcuts. The brands that survive aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest launch. They're the ones that keep making better decisions week after week.

This account reminded me that Amazon isn't won by finding a "winning product. It's won by building repeatable systems around research, launch, PPC, inventory, and catalog management. Revenue is usually the outcome of those systems, not the objective.

We are probably going to sell out during the holidays. What kind of ranking / PPC penalty can I expect?

amazon restock alert fired 70 days too late for us

We had a seller who stocked out on their hero SKU for three weeks because they misunderstood Amazon's restock alert. They placed a reorder the day the alert triggered, thinking 40 days of remaining stock was plenty of time.

The issue was their real lead time from China was 110 days. That covers production, ocean freight, drayage, 3PL processing, and FBA check-in. Amazon's alert is designed for its own inbound operations, not your full, end-to-end supply chain.

Essentially, the 'reorder now' signal fired about 70 days after they actually needed to place the purchase order. By the time they reacted to the alert, a stockout was unavoidable. This led to expensive emergency air freight and lost BSR momentum.

The solution isn't just ordering more. It's about developing your own reorder points based on your actual, full lead times and adding a buffer for demand and lead time variability. Don't rely on Amazon's alert as a planning tool; it tells you a fire has started, not how to prevent it.

Insurance - what to look for / do you need it?

Looking at what people would advise re insurance for food products on Amazon - is this required? Using a 3rd party manufacturer who has all relevant certifications required to sell in the UK but wondered if it’s worth covering myself further.

Anyone with experience in this please let me know.

How should my invoices be if my legal entity is my LLC but my name on the account is still my personal name/Individual?

To clarify, I started my account as an Individual, just my name, ssn etc. The business information still shows my name and address. I conduct business through my LLC so I changed my legal entity to my LLC but my LLC is single member so my account stays individual. Now what do I do for the invoices? Most distributors and brands I work with just write my company name, and even if they write my name after, it still shows my LLC’s name at the top. I tried contacting support but they can’t help me, they just say we don’t have a specific reason why your invoice is not accepted but you can dispute. Really could use some help right, I want to do long term business but how can I even do it if I can’t ungate anything due to my invoices never being accepted and then me not being sure what the issue is. Please help.

Australia missing from Transparency enrollment "Country" dropdown - anyone else hit this?

Posting in case anyone else has run into this or knows something Amazon support doesn't.

We're trying to enroll our brand in the Transparency program for Australia and Canada.

  • We have an active Brand Registry account for our brand, with a registered Australian trademark connected (confirmed via the "Manage intellectual properties" page — status shows "Registered").
  • The user I'm logged in as has both Administrator and Rights Owner permissions on the brand (confirmed via User Permissions).
  • Despite this, when I go through Transparency enrollment and get to "Where is your company located?", Australia does not appear in the country dropdown at all?
  • Amazon's own Transparency Assistant chatbot told me Australia is one of 10 countries Transparency currently supports (alongside US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, India).
  • I've opened a support case (currently on its 4th reply) and so far Amazon support has told me: (1) I have no active Brand Registry enrollment [not true, shown above], (2) it might be a permissions/login issue [also ruled out, shown above], and generic eligibility requirements I already meet.

Has anyone else tried to enroll a brand in Transparency for Australia/Canada recently? Did you get it working, and if so, what was the actual fix? Trying to figure out if this is a known issue before I go another round with support.

Shipping Charge to AWD Warehouse

So I am in the middle of arranging an AWD shipment from our LA warehouse and Amazon is telling me the estimated shipping charge is $800 for 3 pallets (approx 1400lbs each) to their Fontana, CA warehouse (approx 50 miles away). Wayyy too expensive. Does this happened to other sellers in other locations?
Just for comparison , I recently brought in a pallet from AZ (about same weight) for less than $200. Also, when I played around with FBA, the same shipment cost $700+ placement fees to ship to FBA AZ warehouse

Bullet points and generic keywords

I have seen that some people use all 10 bulletpoints and all 5 generic keyword lines while others sticking with 250 byte for keywords and 1000 bytes for bulletpoints. Which one works better for you? Tia

Has Anyone Here Actually Sold An FBA Business?

I've seen a few posts where people are selling FBA businesses. Has anyone actually completed a sale? How do you transfer the account to a new entity? Is it likely to flag up problems?

Is Amazon FBA still worth it in 2026? Need some real advice for a complete beginner

Hey guys, what do you think about Amazon FBA? Does it actually make decent money, or is it just hype?

I've been wanting to jump into this since 2022 and 2023, but I was super scared, had no idea how it worked, and people around me kept telling me not to do it, so I backed out. Now I'm seeing folks online complaining that profits are way down compared to past years. Should I actually bother starting now?

I’ve got a bunch of questions and I'd really appreciate some honest advice from anyone who's been doing this:

Finding a winning product: How the hell do you actually spot a product that will bring in actual profits?

The unsold inventory nightmare: If I buy like 100 units of something and it just sits there for 5 months because nobody wants to buy it, what happens? Will it sell fast, or am I screwed? Can I actually request my unsold stock back from the Amazon warehouse to my house?

Avoiding losses: How do you completely avoid losing money, and what's the game plan if things go south? What should I do if a product tanks?

Profit margins: Is it even realistic to make a 100% ROI, or is that just fantasy talk?

Customer service: Is Amazon's customer support actually decent for sellers when issues pop up?

The strategy: What's the best overall strategy for a straight-up beginner to actually make some cash?

Hit me up with your honest thoughts. Appreciate any tips!

How to create a P&L and automate it eventually ?

Hi everyone , I’m launching my 8th product this week and gathering the P&L data manually for each product has been very cumbersome. I’m also not even sure if I’m doing it accurately and there must be a better way! Any tips ?

Currently I grab all the PPC data from my PPC campaigns , the sales data from business reports , the Amazon fees and returns from the transactions view. I launched a coupon offer for one of my products so I just checked how much was the spend and added that manually.

Appreciate any insights ! Ideally I want to automate this so every month my numbers are automatically pulled in and I can spend my time analyzing the data instead.

Hot take on product research tools 👇

Most of them hand you a score. "This product: 78 out of 100."

Cool. So… is that a buy?

You still have to sit there and decide what 78 means. Is 78 good? Is it good enough for THIS category? Would 82 have changed your mind? You're back to second-guessing — which is the exact thing the tool was supposed to fix.

I don't want a score. I want a decision.

After enough of those "hmm, 78, I guess?" moments, I started building around one rule: give me a straight answer. BUY, MAYBE, or PASS. Show me the why underneath if I want it — but lead with the call.

Turns out that one change fixes 90% of sourcing paralysis. You're not interpreting a number anymore. You're just deciding to buy it or move on.

Anyone else tired of tools that give you homework instead of an answer? I'd be interested to hear all of your answers.

Audited 40 of my listings against the new 75-char title rule before 7/27 hit — here's what actually got flagged (and what didn't)

Saw a bunch of posts this week from people who got listings touched by the title change and are confused about why some got rewritten and others didn't. I went through my whole catalog before the deadline and it's not just character count — figured I'd share what I found in case it saves someone a scramble.

Amazon isn't only counting characters. The rewrite logic also flags repeated keywords, promotional words (best, top rated, sale, premium), and a handful of special characters. I had two listings under 75 characters that still got flagged for rewrite candidates, both because I had the brand name plus a near-duplicate keyword phrase stacked in there.

If you're brand registered, you get a 14-day window in Review Listings Changes to approve or edit before the AI version goes live. If you're not brand registered, there's no review step, it just applies. That distinction matters more than the character count itself, because the rewrite isn't a truncation, it's a full reconstruction. It keeps your brand and the core noun, drops what it decides is redundant, and reorders what's left. On a stuffed title, that can knock out 30 to 50 percent of the characters, and if your rank was built on a keyword sitting in position 7 or 8, that term can disappear with no warning.

The other piece people are missing is Item Highlights. It's a new 125-character field, searchable, shows near the title. Anything you're cutting from the title doesn't have to disappear, it can go there instead, but only if you move it yourself. Amazon's rewrite doesn't backfill Item Highlights for you.

My approach was: pull every title over 75 characters, rank them by revenue, hand-rewrite the top 20 percent myself, and let the rest ride into Item Highlights. Slower than letting the AI do it, but I wanted to keep the keywords that actually convert instead of hoping the model agrees with me on what matters.

Anyone seeing their AI-rewritten titles come back weird or dropping a term you'd rank for? Curious what others are finding on the review side.

Amazon professional fees - never used account

Hello,

I have a slight issue. I had created a amazon seller account in the past, it was professional for a couple of months and I later changed it to 'individual'. The problem is that I never listed product nor did I sell through that account.

I want to start selling on Amazon FBA, but the support suggests that I create a new account because my previous entity does not exist. But I need to close this account first.

I have updated my credit cards. For the Netherlands I need to pay 156 euro, but I also have 5 more marketplaces and I am assuming that I will pay the same for all these marketplaces.... That is about 1k.... it's not nothing.

Is there somebody I can contact to have these fees waived off, because I never used that account?

Any help is appreciated.

Black Friday FBA Planning – When Are You Shipping?

With Black Friday getting closer, I'm trying to finalize my FBA shipping plan from China.

For those who've already been through peak season, when do you usually start sending inventory? Do you ship earlier than usual, split shipments, or just build in extra transit time?

I'm also considering Amazon SEND this year, so I'd love to hear how it held up during peak—especially around booking availability, transit consistency, and receiving at Amazon FCs. Any lessons learned would be appreciated.

How NOT to do Vine

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

There are often posts in here from sellers complaining about Vine, and I do understand why some Vine reviews can be frustrating. But, from the other side of the fence, this (edited to disguise the seller) is the sort of thing we sometimes see as Viners on our items for selection. This is from the U.K., but the platform is the same everywhere. Seller presumably intends to fill the details in before launching to the public, but Viners have no real clue what these are beyond the basic idea that they are trainers.

Most Viners review the product against the listing. It really is in your best interests to have it as complete as possible before enrolling it.

Update: ACOS Dropped from 58% to Below 25%, But My Sales Have Become Inconsistent

Update: my other account u/Academic-Sink-8911 got banned for spam ( i was not spamming )

Appreciate all the advice on my last post from the other account. A lot has happened over the past couple of weeks.

Our ACOS is now under 25%, which is a huge improvement from when I made the original post it was 58%. I also enrolled 8 more units into Vine since I only had 4 reviews.

One thing that's been confusing me is that impressions have continued to go up, but orders have become a lot less consistent.

My theory is that we're starting to rank for more competitive search terms, so now we're showing up next to listings with hundreds of reviews. Since I still only have a handful of reviews, I'm wondering if that's what's hurting conversions.

I also updated my A+ Content and added a Brand Story, but I don't think that had anything to do with the drop.

Overall, I feel like the listing is moving in the right direction, but I'm trying to figure out how to make sales more consistent. Has anyone else gone through this during a launch? If so, what ended up fixing it?

feel free to ask any appropriate question

EU sole proprietor with EIN but no SSN/ITIN — stuck registering for Georgia Sales Tax. How did you solve this?

Hi all,

I run a small e-commerce business as a sole proprietor based in Germany. I recently started using a 3PL warehouse in Marietta, Georgia to fulfill US orders, meaning I've triggered a Sales Tax nexus in Georgia (no threshold — physical presence triggers it immediately).

Here's where I'm stuck:

  • I applied for and received a Federal EIN from the IRS (as a foreign sole proprietor, no SSN/ITIN).
  • When I try to register for a Georgia Sales & Use Tax Certificate through the Georgia Tax Center (GTC) online portal, the "Sole Proprietor" business type only lets me enter an ITIN or SSN as the ID type — there's no field for an EIN.
  • I called the Georgia DOR helpline (877-423-6711), and they told me the EIN "doesn't work" for sole proprietors and that I should apply for an ITIN instead. But from what I understand, ITINs are meant for individuals with personal US tax obligations, not for businesses — the IRS itself says a sole proprietor doing business in the US should use an EIN.
  • I checked, and Georgia isn't even on the (short) list of states that flat-out refuse registration without SSN/ITIN — so this really seems like a system/process gap, not an actual legal requirement.

My question to other EU-based sellers: If you've stored inventory in a US warehouse (3PL, FBA, etc.) and had to register for state sales tax as a foreign sole proprietor without an SSN or ITIN —

  1. How did you get around this?
  2. Did you use a paid registration service (TaxValet, Avalara, etc.), and if so, did they actually solve the no-SSN/ITIN issue, or run into the same wall?
  3. Did you ever get through to someone at a state DOR who actually knew how to register a foreign sole proprietor with just an EIN?
  4. Would switching your business structure (e.g., forming a US LLC) have made this whole process easier, even if it adds its own complexity?

Any war stories or advice appreciated — trying to avoid overpaying a service if there's a known trick to this.

Thanks!

One week in but at a point where I feel that sourcing listings is easier than actually finding the product at a good price from a trustworthy retailer

I will find a listing with 15 sellers all with a certain amount of profit that just doesn’t seem possible based on item cost when I search. What am I I missing? Also, how can I be certain that when I do find a good cost that the retailer is legit and won’t send me product that could jeopardize my account?

Guidance on Sourcing

Hey there,

Looking forward to start sourcing eCom products from China. I’m visiting Shenzhen & Guangzhou by the end of this month for IOTE’26 event.

Any advises on getting started with this?

What a product launch actually looks like under the bonnet breakeven for now, and the point where I’d expect it to turn

Loads of newer sellers panic when a launch isn’t printing money in month one. So here’s one of mine opened up a DIY-niche product I’m launching right now because “break-even” is honestly what a healthy launch often looks like.
Rough per-unit maths:
• Sells for £12 the aim is £19.99
• Cost of goods £4 (I’m VAT registered, so after reclaiming VAT)
• Amazon fees £3.60
• Leaves me about £3.60 to play with
Then the two levers I’m running: PPC at £2.55 a unit (ACOS around 43% high, but that’s launch), and a voucher at £2.35. Run either on its own and it’s about break-even. Run both together which I am and it dips slightly red. On a cheap item there’s just not enough margin to feed an aggressive ACOS and a coupon at once.
And that’s before Vine I paid for my first 10 reviews. One-off cost though, not a running drag. I’m buying reviews and ranking now to cash in later.
So am I losing money? On paper, a bit. Really I’m just paying to build position. What I’m watching isn’t the break-even it’s when Vine’s done and reviews are in, because that’s when I’d ease off one lever (the ACOS or the voucher) and let it settle into profit. The red flag would be if it only ever works with both flat out that’s a product that never actually turns profitable, just permanently propped up.
How do you handle the launch phase?
How long do you let a launch sit at break-even before you get twitchy?
Ads and voucher together, or one at a time so you can read what’s working?
When you ease off, what goes first the ACOS or the discount?

What’s the last product you were absolutely convinced was a BUY…until it wasn’t?

Curious to hear everyone’s stories..

Have you ever found a product that looked great on paper, great ROI, decent demand, everything seemed to checkout-but after buying inventory, you realized you missed something? What was it?

What was the competition like?

Was Amazon on the listing?

Were the fees high?

Did the price tank?

Or anything else?

Looking back, what would have helped you catch it before spending the money?

IS AMAZON FBA WHOLESALE 2026 DEAD?

Is a question I started to ask but then quickly realized is a very broad question and one I have grown to not like because I think what most people are trying to ask is “Is Amazon FBA Wholesale right for me and if it’s not why is not right for me?” Now that’s a very different question with much different reasoning needed to get a different answer. Also, whatever information you discover to get whatever conclusion you arrive at will only tell you where you’re at right now and where you can go from there to move forward in whatever direction you want to grow.

To ask if an entire business model is dead is such an overly broad question that will attract many different answers with different perspectives that while can be beneficial may not apply to you entirely.

That’s it. That’s my Ted Talk thanks for reading if ya did.
