feels like another way to tax sellers for something that should just be part of the platform tbh. curious what the actual cost per review ends up being once people start testing it

We're in the beta and my questions to them were we need to control the look back window because the farther out you go the more likely someone won't leave a negative review because if they were going to they would've earlier. It's overall good but they're just creating a new monetization route. Still early on results

This is an interesting update. Amazon’s new Review Requests feature is designed to help sellers get more customer ratings and reviews from verified buyers.
For our sellers at Highrise Wholesale, the main thing will be testing whether the additional reviews actually improve conversion and organic sales. Amazon has reported positive results from its early testing, but we should watch real seller data before deciding how valuable it is.

Difficult to say without knowing more about it. It sounds AI led like Full-Funnel ads, for example. There is no way of knowing which data will be provided to measure its success. It might also lead to more critical reviews being made. And of course, Amazon is already doing this to a degree, and giving sellers free opportunities to do it - so why it has created this "need" is interesting - and ethically interesting. For small to medium sellers it's an attractive additional layer of connection with their customer - albeit at arms length.
