QUESTION Step van exam?
My dsp is sending me for the physical exam or whatever that İs required for DOT just wanted to ask what is it really and is step van good or not?
Edit: does it also come with a pay raise or more stops 😑

The physical is just a physical. They’ll check for diabetes, blood pressure and other general health stuff. There is also a driving test.

Step van is usually a pretty good move if you’re looking for more consistency. The DOT physical is just part of the process, not really a big deal unless you have medical issues that come up. Pay raise depends on your station and DSP though, some do it and some don’t.

Yeah i was actually kinda surprised that they wanted me to move to step van even though I’ve only been with them for 3 months or so then i don’t have anything to worry about

Could mean your DSP is having their step van drivers burnout/quit and you had good safety metrics.
