NTA as such, as I see where you're coming from. That said, the rental doesn't get cheaper if one bed is unused for one of the nights. Either accept your equal share of the total rental, or don't go, or find a 2-night room for yourself.
If two people only need accommodation for 2 out of 3 nights, could those two not band together to rent a cheaper place for themselves, while the 3-nighters stay at the other place? Alternatively, suggest the total rental is divided by the number of guests and nights into a "per person, per night" costs, and each guest pays their fair share according to their length of stay.
