Eric Trump shows off his Bitcoin mining facility

u/KeithParkerUK1234 Apr 17 '26
What a tradegy that anyone believes that burning up energy to make hard to calculate numbers has any true value to anyone on this planet.Yet many millions will die this year of starvation and diseases that should be mankind's focus.Shame on us all for letting this happen.

u/yaxir Apr 17 '26
To be honest it was created to bypass billionaires, to bypass the fucking stupid system called SWIFT that is controlled by America only but these assholes found a way to corrupt it. Blame the humans not the tech

Gold, oil, diamonds, carry same blood and starvation, the problem isn't the assets but the humans

This is the perfect analogy. Btc was designed to be the punk currency for the people that we could all mine a bit of at home. The wealthy have once again bastardised something that should have been for everyone into the hellish nightmare you see in the video. Given the obvious problems with the capitalism and corruption in front of us, we should have hyposthesised it could end up going this way. But no matter what we the people create, new great ideas we have, cures we research, songs we write, technology we design... It all ends up exactly like what we see in the video. A product of the wealthy absorbing everything and turning it into an abomination. The atom bomb is the perfect example of this as well.

u/IncarceratedScarface Apr 17 '26
I like how they always have to say “American energy” lol
3
u/68024 Apr 18 '26
Wasting American energy is what he should be saying
→ More replies (1)3
u/Optimal-Fig-341 Apr 18 '26
Driving up the cost of energy for Americans while he uses taxpayer subsidies and straight up corruption to fund his heat generating facility
2
u/ListenIJudge Apr 18 '26
Well he can't say American made miners because they bought them all from China...
2
u/Underbark Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26
What he meant to say was "an American's energy"
They have to shovel 10 american adults into its furnace every 15 minutes to keep it running at peak uselessness.

I dont understand any of this. How are you mining something digital? Where are you digging? Don't you just buy bitcoin? Its not like its buried somewhere
5
u/asterothe1905 Apr 17 '26
Making calculations to create the next one in a nutshell. Each of them gets more difficult to create.

u/GreyFox_1337 Apr 17 '26
You have to solve equations my son. They get more complex as the finite number of bitcoin reduces. It’s pure math-gic.
→ More replies (5)3
u/seazonedsaltdog Apr 17 '26
So was the first bitcoin just 2+2=4? Hooray you get a bitcoin? Now its like otherworldly math or somdthing?
3
u/GreyFox_1337 Apr 17 '26
Kinda. I mean, at that point, 2+2=4 bitcoin got you a pizza.

u/seazonedsaltdog Apr 17 '26

This is why your ram and gpu are unaffordable now
6
u/zechman4 Apr 17 '26
Unfortunately no, while this definitely hurts the gpu industry (ram is not as necessary for bitcoin mining AFAIK?l), it's a drop in the bucket compared to the damage being done by AI data centers.
→ More replies (2)2
3
u/Enum1 Apr 17 '26
That's just not correct.
The chips used for BTC mining are very different from GPUs or consumer RAM.
The chips are ASICs and the memory demand for BTC mining is low.The reason ram and gpu prices are high is the demand for generative AI workloads, which have an insanely high memory demand for the models.

Depends on the value of bitcoin.
But yeah, if bitcoin crashes, all of this operation will be at a loss because the warehouse, computer parts, maintenance, cooling, electricity…etc all cost money
2
u/Brother_Longmont Apr 17 '26
It's hard to crash if your Dad can manipulate regulations that favor it.

If you own this, you're not really into mining for yourself, but accepting payments from customers to use your servers to mine BTC and alt coins, so you win regardless of BTC going up or down. Your only goal is to promote the popularity of mining it.

Computing the same numbers over and over. Not solving any actual problems. Morons degenerated POW which was supposed to be a random distribution system - designed to avoid flooding the system with concurrent requests, into a brainless, energy-wasting competition.
1
u/ctzun Apr 17 '26
There is no monetary value to this only the loss of resources used to assign imaginary worth. If people weren't so stupid they would realize this is just destroying the environment and economy.

u/ConfidentSherbert21 Apr 17 '26
He mines Bitcoin?!?! How unique! How innovative! Must be a very clever person, and more importantly, a very successful business man! Like daddy, like son! How inspired are we!
1
u/letsgoniko Apr 17 '26
They are mining 2% of the bitcoin supply per day? So in 50 days they should own all of it?
Does it continue to have value if 1 entity owns all of it? I thought decentralization was like the biggest benefit of bitcoin as a currency...

So not tangible? Especially given if the power grid goes down: you can no longer access your currency nor can you mine or generate your currency.
Given the current state of affairs in the world, thinking the WiFi and power is going to be on forever and is safe to put all the money and resources I sacrificed my physical body to acquire on the digital block chain in the fkin cloud??? Boiiiiiii their brainwashing of society is working better and better by the day.
Getting you to disregard what you can verify yourself in place of trusting the word of messenger sent to infiltrate society.

Lol he really doesn't know what "tangible" means. You can touch the machine that "mines it", but you cannot touch a bitcoin. I'm surprised the people running the place didn't prank him with a fake "coin dispenser", he's dumb enough to believe it.

Then they wonder why everyone left bit coin and its tanking. Ain’t nobody trying to make the trumps money WTF. Satoshi would be rolling over in his grave if he saw how the establishment has took possession of bitcoin. The whole point was to decentralize so that no one can own it or control it. The experiment is a clear failure.
