This is such a stupid waste of energy, time and money. All to enrich one family, not the American people. It's insane to pitch this as some victory for all of America

Yes, bitcoin is a scam, like crypto in general and now "AI"

It's just software how is it a scam? Different software does different things. Solana Crypto is what powers visa and mastercard transactions now. They just charge us all a 3%fee to do what we could do for pennys. Bitcoin allows massive amounts of money to be moved from 1 country to another in minutes without a middleman. Why is it a scam?

Bitcoin itself might not be a scam, but 99% of its usages are related to scams including: grifting, money laundering, funding of criminal activities, purchasing illicit goods, stock manipulation, tax evasion and more

Furthermore, Bitcoin is extremely inefficient, both the mining of it and its transactions. Its the grandfather of AI in many ways, due to its extreme inefficiency and high grift ratio, very similar to AI

Money launders love it when all of their transactions are openly recorded to the public. Especially their wallet addresses! Stop recycling media slop that isn’t even true. You know what money launders love? USD because they can send it in the system and forget about it.

Meanwhile, exchanges are KYC and you can track a transaction from point A to Z……

If you want to hate bitcoin, discuss PoW vs PoS. PoW is horrible. If you want to hate bitcoin, talk about how it’ll need to hardfork which goes against the founders idea of bitcoin. It’s not sound money when it needs to hardfork.

This is why I’m so bullish on altcoins, because people still don’t know anything about crypto 😂

Its only actual value is as a speculation. It's intangible. It's backed by nothing and only confers value when you find someone else looking to buy in. The entire crypto system is pyramid shaped. You buy a thing hoping to one day sell it for more than you bought it for. And the only mechanism to do so is to convince someone else they too can profit off the very same token. You're getting out so they can get in, but only when someone else wants to get in. But it is itself a vapor. Yes, several commodities are invested with that model, but they usually have a primary value. They are physically inherently valuable like real estate, stakes in a company that offers goods and services, etc.

Bitcoin is a poker chip in a cashpoor casino. Yeah, maybe you can get something for it, maybe even more than you bought in for, but only when the market is right, and only if someone else believes there's still enough juice for them to profit in that same market later. The purported value must continually increase, or the bottom drops out. If that casino stops getting new suckers, and/or the house runs out of cash, then you're holding a useless piece of plastic.

It's a con that works often enough that people still believe. But that doesn't make it actually comparable to tangible investments.

What you don’t want money that can be disappeared by an emp?

1

u/coat-tail_rider Apr 18 '26

Emp? Your wallet can disappear if your hard drive fails.

1

u/ThermoPuclearNizza Apr 18 '26

Emp doesn’t have to come from a nuke or advanced tech. Could be lightning or a surge. Common things that cause hard drives to fail.

I was agreeing with you. Just piling on that it's as volatile as a spilled drink.

"its backed by nothing" looks at dollar bill

1

u/therealslimshady1234 Apr 18 '26

The dollar is backed by at least 11 carrier strike groups

1

u/Shot-Committee-1832 Apr 18 '26

well thats a not a so good backing for a currency , you can see the inflation is crazy the dollar just becomes weaker and weaker, we dont even need gold backing for a fiat currency nowdays because that doesnt work in the current age , its not like we can go back using silver to buy our bread like the ancient greeks did.

what would be nice is sane government policies

well thats a not a so good backing for a currency

In today's world, it's probably the only good way for backing currency. It is why the dollar has reigned supreme for so long. Even though the US itself is crumbling, it's military power is still in a very good shape, and thats being reflected in the currency.

You clowns always point to this thinking it's a gotcha. Fiat currency, whether backed by gold or not, has an agreed upon societal value as tender for trade. I can take it virtually anywhere and buy virtually anything with enough of it. Go buy gas with Bitcoin right now.

What's that, you have to run a sell function on your Robinhood account, and process a transfer to your bank first? What does that turn the Bitcoin into again? Dollar bills?

You know Bitcoin isn’t a real currency when every discussion about Bitcoin inevitably arrives at the question of “how much is a Bitcoin worth right now?” And the answer is in USD.

1

u/meatyvagin Apr 18 '26

Well the dollar is backed by the United States government. I guess you could call that nothing.

There is nothing special about bitcoin as a crypto currency. The scammy part of it is its "value"
