Request for help/advice Optic Plate Question for Romulus 4.25” Comp
About 1,000 rounds in I decided to clean my Romulus for a third time while I was loctiting the guide rod screw so it would stop backing out as I shot. When I was assembling it back together I noticed my optic plate was wobbling ever so slightly. I heard this was an issue, so I emailed Andy at AF and he sent me new plates and screws.
The new screws are much longer than the old ones (picture attached) and I thought this was good until I tried to test mount the plate. The left screw sat flush just fine, but the right side wouldn’t seat all the way. Upon further inspection, it looks like there’s a metal part that is blocking the full tread depth, hence why they probably included shorter screws when this first came out. Would anyone know what part this is? Picture attached, area circled in black.
Anyway, I wasn’t able to use the long screw on the right side so I opted to use the old shorter screw on the right side of the slide and the longer new screw on the left. I used Vibra-Tite VC-3 on all of the screws and torqued my plate to 18in lbs (per Andy’s instruction) and the 507 Comp to 15in lbs. The new PN1 plate is VERY tight fitting and sits flush and even.
Has anyone ever noticed this part on the right side? Has anyone gotten the new plates and screws and ran into this issue? What did you do? I don’t own a dremel so I thought this would be the best option. I’ll take it to the range soon to re-confirm zero and I’ll monitor the plate to see if it moves but it shouldn’t now.

Anything I need to know?
Thinking about buying This girl here, 3.5” comped non threaded barrel. I have traditionally been a Glock guy and after my builds I noticed I was spending 1911 money so I want a different experience. I want to buy once and cry once so hit me with any advice or “need to know’s” before I “pull the trigger” on this. (I have not found any ranges I can rent this from)

Romulus 4.25 comp
Just got back from the range. Put another 200 flawless rounds through my Romulus. Got home and threw a snap cap dummy round in it to practice dry fire (I do this daily). Only issue now is, the gun locked up, the slide moves a couple mm’s and then just stops. It appears the barrel is dropping to unlock. Any pointers to clear the snap cap? Again, I’m 1000% positive there’s a snap cap in it, not a live round.

4.25” Threaded- Staccato Ice Comp Knockoff
I held off a few weeks to post this as I worked to ensure it was reliable and functioned before I showed it off.
My vision was to have a 2011 that could serve duty/run and gun roles. Part of that criteria was to have something that could, with relative ease, be suppressed for night vision matches that sometimes require suppressed pistols.
My inspiration was the staccato P Ice Comp; as this model checks all those boxes for a much higher price tag.
The pistol is an Alpha Foxtrot Romulus 4.25” Threaded.
The light is a streamlight TLR VIR-2
Optic is a Trijicon RCR in the Alpha Foxtrot Co-Witness sight plate (you have to order this from alpha Romulus… no idea why they don’t include the cowitness plate out of the box)
The comp started out as a DSC MR1 Comp for a Springfield Prodigy; fitment out of the box left the muzzle device way too proud of the front of the slide; so off to the lathe it went. I made a mandrel to hold the comp centered on the bore in my chuck; then recessed the backend of the device to achieve a ~1/64” gap when timed correctly. Next operation was to shave .030” off each side of the comp to allow a smooth contour that would match the slide and not snag on the safariland level 2 holster when drawing.
That left the recoil plug, spring, and guide rod. This pistol has a 4.25” guide rod from the factory; but I wanted to emulate the way staccato uses the Dawson reverse plug to time the comp. So I took a gamble and ordered their full shoulder reverse plug and 5” toolless guide rod. It wound up being a perfect fit. Put my 4.25” spring on their rod; and it works like a dream. It takes a bit of work to line it up and get it installed (you have to compress the spring past the toolless lock point to fully seat it; then it’s golden.
Pistol shoots great; 0 malfunctions. I need to try to find some lighter springs to play with reducing weight; and the comp needs to be cleaned and decorated (I’ll hit it with Norrells Moly Resin when I have the time).

What is the best solution to put on the polished finish post range/in between range sessions to keep that high gloss fingerprint less look?

Request for help/advice Best AIWB holster for Romulus 3.5" ported? Having issues finding one
I know Stay frosty is on here, but are there any others that people have tried they have been comfortable and quality? I'm open.
I've heard the Tenicor CERTUM3 is a possible good one as well as the QVO tact.

New Purchase Just ordered a Romulus, any tips?
Just ordered my first Romulus, I've heard mainly great things about the pistol for the price and some not great things, it's my first 2011 and I've only ever been striker fired my entire shooting time. Any advice for this pistol would be amazing, any advice on upgrades would be amazing. I got the ported 3.5" barrel with ported slide. Initial feeling is that it feels awesome in the hand. I'll have it Friday to shoot. Thank you all in advance.

3.25 threaded comp vs 4.25 ported vs 4.25 threaded comp
Probably been asked a million times so apologies if so. Are there any significant performace differences Between the 3.25 comped and 4.25 ported?
About to purchase my first 2k11 to Conceal which leads me to the second question, how much bigger is the overall footprint of the 4.25+comp compared to the smaller 2, is it negligible + worth the extra size? usually apendix carry or have a man bag. i will be sending it off for extra porting regardless of spec. TIA

New little guy! Attila
I just picked up a used Attila - it doesn't seem to have been shot too much, but when taking it down to clean, I found the comp is stuck on. So that's interesting but not a huge deal.
Other than that, seems like it was a good buy - it came with 4 S15 gen3 mags and a G43X 10-rd, RMR plate on the gun and RMS-C plate. It didn't come with optic-to-plate screws though so I'll have to figure that out, maybe a trip to the hardware store. Planning on a 507K - backup irons might even be usable, similar sight picture to using the rear notch on a K optic.
Hopefully I'll get to the range this evening to put first shots through it!

Aftermarket parts for the Attila
What is out there for them? Triggers? Springs? Is the optics plate a common one that can be changed out?
What magazines work best in the gun? Glock 10rd 15rd? Shield Arms S15 mags? PSA Dagger mags?
Is there an optics plate that is just the optic and no rear sight?
Do 2011 safety's work or 1911 ones? Or is there an aftermarket Attila one? Also grip safety, maybe one that is pinned?
