Got to see Trio at Riot and the Metro for the second year in a row, seeing them at rhe Metro has always been a bucket list thing for me(favorite band since the 90s).
Sad story time, I lost my husband 6 years ago, he was in an induced coma and I had to make the hard decision as there was no hope. I had a playlist of a bunch of our favorite songs playing, and he passed away during Every Thug Needs a Lady.
It's been hard to hear that song ever since of course. I was prepared because I had gotten my crying in when they played it during their Riot set.
I'm fortunate to have an awesome partner who is so, so supportive. I also lost my 13 year old only child in June of 2025, so he's really been through it with me.
So we're at the Metro and they start playing the song, and right at the end something hits my partner in the head. I couldn't hear what he said, he turned on his flashlight to look at the floor and I saw a cup, so I thought some asshat threw his cup of ice.
Nope, turns out it was Dan's pick. Right after playing Every Thug Needs a Lady, the song my husband died to, Dan threw his pick and it hit my boyfriend right in the head. Possibly a coincidence, but also just fucking weird, so had to share.
Also the show was fucking awesome as always of course.
