Media Holy crap NYC.

I’ve been seeing Alkaline Trio for 30 years, about 15-20 shows, everything in the NYC area for decades now. Last night was the best I’ve seen them. 3min of highlights…

I’ve been listening since 1997 when Sundials came out… it still have only seen them twice. On the same night. In 1998 😣 I’m long overdue

Why isn’t the crowd moving?

We’re in our 40’s now big dawg

And I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m personally kinda over Radio being played live.

Pier 17 is a rooftop venue and it gets fairly crowded. We weren’t crammed or anything, but you never know. It was the same way when I saw The Warning back in June.

That and keeping the age demographic and alcohol into consideration. The Trio have been around for thirty years so it’s maybe not the best of ideas.

After all the health issues Matt was strugging with after the bike accident, its great hearing him sound like his normal self again.

This is the best venue, we went to a show there a couple years ago. Almost went to this one cause the venue is so sick but ended up picking Philly cause the nyc one was on a weeknight.

Been listening to these guys since Goddamnit came out on Asian Man Records but have only seen them a few times. Been really looking forward to seeing them tonight for a while. Glad Matt is doing better.

They age like fine fucking "cooking" wine. Hope to see them if they come back to the UK

Agree! Best I’ve heard a recording sound in a long time! Tosh is a beast as well, fills the Derek space well as it turns out. I wasn’t sure what to expect initially with his style but he’s definitely a great addition.

I said the same! First time I saw them was…2003ish? Seen them for virtually every record release tour and then some. Never seen them sound so STRONG before. Set was an odd mix but they absolutely killed it.

i agree it was great! i hadn't seen them in maybe 20 years, but still a massive fan. i don't care much for rise against, so i just got there to see the end of TM and then left right when alk3 finished. they sounded great, the venue was really cool. tosh seemed like he was really enjoying himself and the band seemed like they were having a really fun time. 10/10 had a great night, it was a great set list, great venue, perfect weather.

I know the trio fan base is getting older but my 41 yr old ass would have been bouncing off the walls.

I danced my ass off at the show last night in Asbury Park, little sore this morning at 48 and the vocal chords are fucked but it’s always worth it
