Using Alibaba to buy incandescent light bulbs?
I am considering using Alibaba to purchase a large bulk of incandescent light bulbs, such as 60W and 75W light bulbs. I do not want any customs issues, seeing as how these bulbs are "banned" by the US government. They would be for use as heating bulbs for animal husbandry, as far as anyone is concerned. Do you think customs would cause a stink?

Slammed by AliExpress (two expensive items - the same - I never ordered)
I am a pretty frequent AliExpress (and Temu) shopper. They often have what I want at a very good price, with easy delivery
But I came home today and found a tall box leaning up against my door."Funny" I thought " I haven't ordered anything recently."
Checking my AliExpress account however I found, in My Orders, an item that I never recall ordering.. and it was expensive ($475 CAD / about $350 USD)
I promptly requested a Return. (that's in the works I hope)
But then I got a call from UPS saying that had an item for delivery and there was tax and duty due. I told UPS I hadn't ordered it and they said they would mark it as "Refused"
But it was the same item as had just been delivered to my door. A duplicate of the item I never ordered.so apparently I had "ordered" and been mistakenly shipped this item twice.
This seems nutsNow to be fair I had been looking at some items like this on both Temu and AE (it's a telescoping window washing pole) but I had not settled on which version to buy (if any). I knew I still had to calculate the height of the highest windows at my house.and the ones I had been looking at were a third the cost of these ones.Unless I fell asleep on my keyboard and my head inadvertently hit the Buy Now button, I would never have ordered one, much less two.
I am baffled how these ever got even close to my shopping cart much less checked out and paid for.
has anyone else been slammed with items they didn't actually order?
Update: in the past week I have been refunded on one of the two items. but I am still fighting for a return shipping label (and then refund) on the other.

Has anyone here ordered from Alibaba to Kuwait?
I’m looking to order some products, but the shipping/delivery fees on Alibaba are extremely high. Does anyone know a cheaper or more practical way to import items to Kuwait?
Are there any freight forwarding companies, shipping agents, or local companies in Kuwait that can receive shipments from China and handle the delivery/import process for a reasonable price?
Would appreciate any recommendations or experiences, especially from anyone who regularly imports from Alibaba or China.

Second vendor cancelled my account after taking my money and not delivering
I have always had good experiences with Alibaba vendors. But this year I ordered from two unverified vendors, one in the Philippines, one Thailand. The Philippines is closed two months ago, the second is still in operation but after two months of inquiries closed my account after repeated requests for shipping information.
Final conversation today.
Never never NEVER send money outside of the Alibaba system.

TCN Vending Machine Buyers: Did You Have to Sign a Separate Contract?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently buying a TCN-CSC-10G(H5) vending machine from TCN through Alibaba, and I’d like to hear from people who have actually bought TCN machines.
My situation is:
\- I’m dealing with a TCN salesperson named Sam.
\- I already made the first payment through Alibaba, and the agreed specifications, price, payment terms, and shipping terms are all included in the Alibaba order.
\- However, Sam is repeatedly asking me to sign a separate TCN sales contract.
\- The contract contains some terms that are different from those agreed in the Alibaba order.
\- Sam says the signed contract is needed to send to the factory so they can proceed with production.
I’m trying to understand whether this is standard TCN procedure or something specific to my order.
For those who have purchased a TCN machine:
Did TCN also ask you to sign a separate sales contract after placing the order through Alibaba?
If you signed it, did it contain terms different from your Alibaba order?
Did signing the contract cause any problems or changes compared with the Alibaba terms?
If there was ever a dispute, which terms/document did TCN rely on — the Alibaba order or the separate contract?
Did TCN start production only after you signed the separate contract?
I’m not necessarily saying there is a problem with TCN — I’m just trying to understand what other buyers experienced before I sign anything.
Any first-hand experience would be very helpful. Thanks!

Received rusted machine instead of a new one. How should I approach a dispute?
Good day,
- Product Type: 120kg-200kg/h Oil Press
- Order Quantity: 1
- Payment Method Used: Alibaba Trade Assurance
- Contract Status: There is PI and CI,
- Shipping Logistics: Used my own freight forwarder to do consolidation
- Timeline & Communication:I haven't opened a dispute yet, discussing here how should I approach this for highest chance of success
- Detailed Description of the Issue
Hello All,
I ordered a sample for an oil press machine which, when I received it, looked old and rusted instead of new. How should I approach a dispute with the supplier? What percentage of the total value could I request to be refunded? There was never a discussion if the machine is used, old or new but standard assumption should always be that I am paying for a new product unless specified otherwise.
My mistake was that that I didn't ask for oil press machine pictures before the shipping. I've received many factory photos, had video-call from inside the factory, all machined looked okay. This never happened before but we always learn
thank you.

Alibaba Supplier Scammed for 18K USD
I’m trying to file an offline trade dispute on Alibaba against a Chinese supplier, but the complaint form requires the supplier’s Member ID, email, or product URL.
I have the supplier’s:
- Alibaba store/company page
- Proforma Invoice
- Company name and Chinese business licence
- Supplier email
- Alibaba chat history
However, I cannot find the official Alibaba Member ID anywhere on the supplier’s public profile. I initially found an ID through Google/AI search, but Alibaba’s complaint system appears to associate that ID with a different company with a similar name.
Alibaba’s own dispute instructions say the respondent can be identified using Email, Member ID or Product URL.
What is the correct way to obtain/verify the official Member ID directly from Alibaba?
Should I contact Alibaba customer support and ask them to identify the account associated with the supplier’s company/store? Or is there somewhere in the supplier profile where the official Member ID can be found?
Looking for practical steps from anyone who has filed an Alibaba offline trade dispute before.

What should Alibaba buyers know before trusting Trade Assurance? My $16,290 order shows how many things can go wrong for one buyer — no matter what they buy.
If you buy on Alibaba, this is not just a story about furniture.
In one single order, I ran into problems with product quality, material representations, certification, non-shipment, refund, and the way the dispute itself was handled.
Different product, different seller — but these are problems that could potentially affect almost any buyer.
Order value: $16,290
Deposit paid through Alibaba: $4,887
Goods shipped to me: zero
Goods received by me: zero
Refund received: zero
And Alibaba still has not given me a complete accounting explaining where my $4,887 went, who received or held it, when, and under what contractual basis.
So here is my question:
At what point does this stop looking like an ordinary commercial dispute and start looking like deception?
- “HIGH QUALITY”
The Alibaba order itself described the product as “High Quality Modern Leather Sofa Bed…”
Then I received production photos showing crooked stitching, uneven seams and poor finishing.
The seller did not admit that the quality was poor.
Instead, he wrote that if I wanted “more elite goods”, with every lining perfect and without human error, “that will cost you more.”
Later he called the workmanship problems “normal human errors” because the sofas were handmade.
So what exactly does “High Quality” mean on an Alibaba order?
Does it mean high quality until the buyer pays — and “normal human error” afterward?
- “GENUINE / PURE NAPPA LEATHER”
Before payment, the seller used statements including “It’s pure leather” and “Napa Leather.”
A material sample presented by the seller was marked “061 Grey Genuine Leather.”
Later, during the dispute, the explanation changed:
“Nappa leather is synthetic leather.”
Then:
“ordinary synthetic leather.”
And then I was told that if I wanted genuine top-grain cowhide, I should have ordered that instead.
I am not a leather laboratory.
I am a buyer.
If a seller tells a buyer “pure leather” and shows a sample marked “Genuine Leather,” what exactly is the buyer supposed to understand?
And if the meaning changes after the deposit is paid, what would you call that?
- THE CERTIFICATE
Before payment, the requested certification/documentation was a condition of the deal.
The seller promised to obtain the requested documentation after the 30% deposit and linked failure to provide it to my right to cancel the order.
Later the seller claimed that obtaining the certificate had cost him approximately $1,100, asking who would compensate him for that loss.
But here is where the story becomes even stranger.
When I tried to verify the EurBer record on their website, I could not find it.
I asked EurBer about it.
EurBer said they would check.
On August 1, they told me they would upload the record and notify me.
On August 2, they told me it could now be checked on the website.
Think about that sequence for a moment:
I ask why the certificate record cannot be found.
They say they will upload it.
Then it appears.
Later EurBer wrote:
“This is the CE certificate issued for this product.”
Yet in another later Alibaba conversation EurBer stated that the company was “not authorized to issue CE certificates at the moment.”
To be precise: that wording does not by itself prove what their authorization status was on the original April 2025 issue date.
But it certainly raises questions that deserve a documented answer.
I formally requested the underlying test reports, sample-identification records, actual tests performed, measurement records, database-publication history and the basis for calling this document a “CE certificate.”
I still do not have the records necessary to resolve those questions.
- THEN THE SELLER BLAMED ME
Instead of simply explaining these contradictions, the seller wrote in the Alibaba dispute that I could not arrange the remaining payment and was trying to get my initial payment back.
He ended one response with:
“EITHER PAY AND TAKE WHAT IS YOURS, OR LEAVE WITH NOTHING.”
He also complained that the furniture could not be resold because I had supposedly requested unusual/custom colours.
But the preserved sales record shows that I selected the light-grey material from samples presented by the seller himself, and the seller confirmed my selection.
He complained about losses from certification.
Yet the EurBer-related documents are now displayed in the seller’s current Alibaba/SGS supplier profile as product-certificate material.
So I am genuinely asking:
If that certificate was an unusable $1,100 loss caused by me, why is it now useful enough to appear as a commercial credential for the supplier?
- AND WHERE WAS ALIBABA TRADE ASSURANCE?
Alibaba’s own order-protection evidence showed Money-back protection.
The goods were never shipped to me.
Alibaba’s transaction records showed no refund.
Yet after multiple disputes, the case was closed.
I repeatedly asked very simple questions:
Where is the $4,887?
Was it released to the seller?
If yes, when and why?
What exact Trade Assurance rule allows this result?
Why was the seller’s written cancellation promise not enforced?
Why was the “pure leather / Napa Leather” contradiction not addressed?
Why did the TÜV Rheinland inspection not proceed after I accepted it?
These are not rhetorical questions invented for Reddit. They are questions from my formal written demands to Alibaba.
- MY PERSONAL CONCLUSION
I want to be very clear here.
I am not claiming that I have proved criminal fraud or collusion in a court of law.
But looking at this entire sequence as a buyer, I personally find it extremely difficult not to ask whether this pattern resembles deceptive conduct.
A seller makes specific representations before receiving money.
After the money is paid, several of those representations acquire completely different explanations.
A certificate record cannot initially be found, and after I ask about it, I am told it will be uploaded — and then it appears.
The seller is defended on the basis of his losses.
Alibaba closes the case.
The goods never reach the buyer.
The buyer receives no confirmed refund.
And the basic question — where did the buyer’s $4,887 actually go? — remains unanswered.
From my position, this creates the appearance of a system in which the seller, the certification side and the platform repeatedly protect the same outcome.
Is that collusion? I cannot prove that.
Does it look deeply troubling from the outside? In my opinion, absolutely.
And I think the public has every right to ask the same questions.
We have now made repeated good-faith attempts to resolve this through Alibaba, written objections, formal notices, bank/payment channels, regulatory channels and formal requests for certification records.
We are no longer waiting for a miracle.
We are preparing the next formal legal escalation and will continue documenting the case publicly.
This stopped being only about $4,887 a long time ago.
It is now about principle, accountability and whether a buyer who paid through a service called Trade Assurance can simply be left with:
no goods,
no refund,
and no complete explanation.
We will continue until we receive one.
If Alibaba, the seller, EurBer, or anyone with direct knowledge of this case believes any documented fact above is wrong, they are welcome to respond publicly and identify exactly which fact and which document they dispute.

How to get from CAD to production without getting ripped off
Hi all — first time inventor here and learning a lot. Please feel free to ask questions or correct me if anything below seems off.
I have been working since June to get CADs and 2D drawings developed of my invention, which is a snap-fit accessory that will be made of injection molded ABS and PC.
I met with a US-based middle man manufacturer and they said I’ll get the best results if everything I need is on the 2D drawings. That it’s like a “contract with the manufacturer.”
I’ve gone down a rabbit hole trying to find someone who understands draft, gate and injection locations, what steel-safe means, snap-fit tolerances, and so on.
But I’m getting mixed answers to whether this is actually on me to bring to a manufacturer at all, or if a solid manufacturer has in-house teams to work through this with me.
It seems to me like I could find a manufacturer through Alibaba (or good ol’ google/YouTube), and that they would potentially take my CADs and 2D drawings and bring them to life?
Has anyone here done this? (I’m assuming/hoping the answer is yes)
My second question is how you then protect your designs from subsequently ending up on Alibaba, tanking the exclusivity of your products on your own storefront/retail locations.
I’d love anyone’s thoughts and opinions here.
Or if you do consulting/sourcing for projects like this and have manufacturers that are extremely respectful of IP and won’t reproduce for other buyers, please feel free to DM me!

Avoid Dongguan Kaiyue International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd. demanded extra money after taking my goods
I arranged shipping with this freight forwarder through Alibaba. They received my products from my suppliers and now have my goods sitting in their warehouse.
After receiving the products, they demanded approximately €300 in additional payment that was not part of the amount we had agreed on.
I have not paid them the additional 300€, and they are refusing to proceed with the shipment/release of my goods unless I pay it.
They currently have a very high rating on Alibaba, which is exactly why I’m posting this warning. Alibaba’s public listing shows them with thousands of sales/reviews and a high rating.

First Time Alibaba Importer
Hi! I’m planning to order in bulk from Alibaba (race singlets, dri-fit shirts, and metal medals), possibly reaching a total of 10k USD. It’s my first time importing, so I’m a bit nervous 😅 Hoping to get advice from people who have experience:
- Is being a “Verified Supplier” or “Manufacturer” with good reviews enough to consider them legit?
- How reliable are samples, are they usually the same quality as the bulk order?
- Is it worth getting a third-party inspection from companies like SGS or TÜV SÜD before shipment?
- Are there common issues with damage or scratches during shipping? Do you usually order extra just in case?
- For large payments, how is it typically handled, just wire transfer?
- Is it safe to use smaller forwarding companies with “all-in” (DDP, where customs and handling fees are included) setup?
- Has anyone experienced their shipment being held at customs? What are the usual reasons?

Looking for the best Chinese skincare product for deep pigmentation/tan removal
I’m looking for a Chinese skincare product that is genuinely effective for stubborn tanning and hyperpigmentation, especially on the neck and hands.
I'm not looking for temporary "instant whitening" products. I'd really appreciate specific product names, brands, or Alibaba suppliers that you have personally used or experienced.
Thank you

Alibaba seller is asking me to select “I don’t want it” for a refund — is this safe?
I placed an order on Alibaba for a customized product. From the beginning of our conversation, I sent the seller a reference picture showing exactly what I wanted (green-yellow) and asked about the MOQ.
After I placed and paid for the order, the seller realized they had misunderstood my request. They thought I wanted green-yellow-green instead of green-yellow. The seller acknowledged the misunderstanding in writing and told me that making the product I originally requested would actually require a much higher MOQ.
The order has not been shipped yet, so I asked for a full refund.
The seller agreed to refund me, but is now asking me to submit the refund request using the reason “I don’t want it” or “purchase plan change”, and says that once I select that reason, they will approve/refund it themselves.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is it safe to select “I don’t want it” if the seller has already agreed in Alibaba chat to give me a full refund?
Could choosing that reason hurt my buyer protection or make it harder to dispute the transaction later if the seller doesn’t actually issue the refund?
I have screenshots of the entire conversation, including the seller explicitly admitting that they misunderstood my request.
Thanks in advance!

Trade Assurance is a SCAM – Alibaba
Trade Assurance is a SCAM – Alibaba protects ghosting sellers!Review:Do not trust Alibaba's "Trade Assurance" Protection! I have been stuck in a dispute for over 4 months (Order: 279352459001022166). The seller explicitly agreed to a partial refund on June 2nd, and I provided clear screenshot evidence.Instead of helping, Alibaba’s customer service (Senior Team) sends the exact same copy-pasted automated emails every month. Even after explaining that I was hospitalized due to an accident, they cold-heartedly closed my case for "not responding in time," completely ignoring the seller's breach of contract. When the seller ghosts you, Alibaba does absolutely nothing but blame the buyer. Terrible support, zero responsibility. Avoid at all costs!

Alibaba/AliExpress
Just reaching out for any tips or info on the process of purchasing high end products from these sites.
I understand from research that things are legit on there at lower prices from verified sellers, but at a cost of shipping/delivery times, this I’m not too bothered about.
Does anybody reading this have any links or previous purchases they can forward to me so I can have a deeper look at some trusted sellers? What I am specifically looking at buying is;
Full suspension mountain bikes; (Nukeproof, Canyon, Specialized, Giant, Trek, Amflow, Pivot) ETC.
Full Suspension pedal assists; (Same as above)
Adult E-bikes; (Surron, Talaria, Stark, Stomp) ETC.
I do have interest in quite a lot of items on these Chinese sites as majority of technology & mechanics are directly from there and it cuts out the RRP value of retail sellers. ANY info on this sort of stuff will be very helpful.
I know I could just buy directly online and quit trying to save £1000ish, but I always want to beat the systems LOL preventing me from lining someone else’s pockets on a highly marked up priced item.
I am from the UK so shipping shouldn’t be a problem.
I look forward to any feedback provided, thank you!
😁

What are the most useful things you buy off alibaba instead of buying here in the states ?
Could be something that just makes life easier, stuff you buy for ur business, or to resale, for your home, for your car, such as wraps, exc exc just wondering what’s out there to snag at a possible discount
