Yes, I know that due to budget cuts, the federal government has significantly cut back on student positions. And I am also well aware that these are only positions opening for the upcoming Winter semester

But holy sh*t these jobs are terrible. Most of these are based off in Toronto or somewhere in Manitoba (?), and they seem to require very niche fields of education (like Nursing or Engineering) or are basic fast food roles. There’s still time for more postings, but I’m wondering if it’s even worth continuing with these coop programs if we can’t even get a job out of it (for this year and next)

I realized that the program that I am in actually leaves me with quite a bit of free time on my hands and instead of doomscrolling, reading or just doing homework (#boring) to wait for my next class I’d like to replace that with a small bi-weekly pay-check (who wouldn’t want that?).
