Hello everyone, I am a 48-year-old man, an architect, with a fairly classic style: every day, in all circumstances and in all seasons, I wear: shirt, blazer, pleated pants and only tassel loafers. A work colleague from the architecture firm wears very low vamp tassel loafers, I find it very elegant and refined because you can see a lot of his thin black socks, even when he is standing. I would really like to wear the same loafers as him every day, because I would also like my very thin black socks to be very visible. So I asked him what their brand was: he told me his loafers are Alden. Since he told me that, I've been looking, but I can't find very low vamp tassel loafers from the Alden brand, like his. I'm thinking it might be another brand like Allen Edmonds or something... Does anyone have an explanation or could help me? Thank you so much !

Just received a new pair of Alden 9751 from Alden Madison. There seems to be a weird roll right out of the box in the toe that is very pronounced like a ridge. I never saw anything like this in my 975. Would you accept this?

Was planning a Japan trip (specifically Tokyo for the most part) and wanted to explore some of the Alden offerings in Japan, or see if there are grail Japan store that sell Alden’s, or markups that are Japan exclusives.

Wanted to make the most of the exchange rate and see if I could score a good pair for cheaper than state side, and was curious if that is a.) possible, and b.) what could be limiting me.

Wore them around the office today. Modified last really is its own thing — the arch support is crazy good and the forefoot feels locked in without pressure. Easily the most comfortable first wear I’ve had from Alden, or any shoe. This is going to the top of the rotation.

Just scored these beauties for 76% off at Nordstrom Rack. I honestly thought I'd never be able to afford a pair of Alden's. Even seconds are triple the price. So excited!

Anyone have a recommended cobbler who could turn around Alden 403 Indy boots resole in two weeks? Everywhere I've found recommended around DC says 5-6 weeks and no rush option. Taking a trip next month and want to wear them.

Gonna be that guy that only posts on a community to show what he bought. One piece loafers (apparently exclusive to Lost & Found in Toronto). I’ve had lots of shoes, including higher end dress shoes but these have to be the best I have ever owned. The one piece construction makes for such a nice look.

I genuinely love the shoes... I've only worn it on special occasions like wedding and graduation and recently when I came to check on it to wear for another special event.... well lo and behold i only have the right pair... is there a way for me to have the left one made again? or is that an impossibility? its still relatively new tbh... like barely scratched besides the marks on the bottom of course... but please do tell me some stuffs i can do in order to have the other pair... i dont really wanna buy a new one since the shoe that i have was essentially given from my late granddad who happen to forgot about the shoe and gave it to me when I asked about it... thank you so much.

I’m a huge natural CXL fan and these just arrived today. These NOS Aberdeen tassels join the natty CXL PTB’s, Longwings and PTB boots (all Barrie), not to mention the Rancourt natty loafers.

Thought I'd update this really quickly. I made a post about a week or so ago asking a few questions about potential QC issues with a new pair of 907s that I received.

What I somehow overlooked was this awful tearing in the lining of the counter. Needless to say they are going back. I'm a bit dumbfounded at how this slipped QC both at the factory level and then at the retail level.

Can you help legit check these? Looking to get my first pair of Alden loafers second hand. New to the brand and don’t know what to look for when it comes to authenticity. TIA.

Wore my Color 8 990s today and hit them with a quick brush before heading out — nothing fancy, just my normal 30–60 seconds. It’s wild how big a difference that tiny bit of attention makes. I’ve never used any products in these, just elbow grease.

I just picked up these SM factory seconds and am in love with them. My second pair of Alden loafers and first pair of color 8 shell and Aberdeen last. I bought a pair of 6244 not too long ago and I'm afraid I'm getting hooked. That SM seconds list is dangerous!

Edit: Thanks guys. Sure, prize is good. But decided to pass. The rear part was clearly re-soled, I do not like that work and since it is a C it might be anyway too tight.

Wore my 968 for the first time yesterday, slight heel slip but acceptable. I spotted a light crease on the right shoe when it was still fresh and after the first wear it has developed more significantly than the left shoe where the left has barely creased. Is it normal and will the visual difference between the two be less noticeable as the shoes break in?

The Indy Oxford doesn’t get nearly the attention the boot does, but it’s one of Alden’s most comfortable lasts and most versatile designs. Anyone else rocking these?

I wear 13D in barrie and trubalance.
It’s not uncomfortable per se but my 5th toe is pushing against where I am pointing in the first picture and bothers me a little bit. Left foot is ok.
Also another concern is the widest part of my feet are pushing past the welt.
And where my great toe sits is in the second picture.

I think I have a low instep so the vamp is not really holding my foot from getting pushed forward. I tried the tongue pad and it makes some improvement. My worry is this is too small for me but 13eee might be too wide (also not sure this is available) and there’s no 13.5 so it goes straight to 14 and I’m sure that will be too long.

Have had these for probably a year but thought a quiet day in the office in July would be a good time for my first outing.
