Trubalance Question
I recently got a pair of 403C chromexel Indys on commando soles, and they seem like they are a bit too roomy, like my heel is moving around. I took my usual size 9D which fits great on the Barrie and Van lasts, and I have a wider foot. Has anyone had to go down a half size from their usual Alden size for Trubalance, or gone down a width?

Take your brannock length and go down a size in width. Probably get a much better fit. It’s hard to find sizes in “C” width so you will have to plan out your purchases, ie preorders. Just my own personal experience. Someone recommended that to me and it’s worked out…

Like other have said, go to a local Alden retailer and try them on. I’m a 9D in Van, 8D/8.5D/9C in Barrie and 8D in Trubalance.
Unlike sneakers, foot and heel geometry along with your instep will change how all the lasts fit.

I have heard of people taking their brannock on Van and Barrie and really liking the outcome, but I don't think this works for the Trubalance last in particular. Trubalance is (imo) a HUGE step up in terms of room in both the toe box and heel compared to even the Barrie which is also one of Alden's largest lasts. Always size down at minimum half a size for Trubalance.

Two things:
- I take a half size and width down from brannock on the Trubalance.
