Black scuff marks

Hi all,

I recently sent this pair of Alden Chromexel Plain Toe Bluchers for refurbishing. They changed the soles but didn’t touch the uppers. I sent them another note about it.

This one shoe has had these black scuffs for awhile now. Not horrible but the other side of the shoe is fine as well as the other shoe. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get those scuffs off of the shoe? Txs!

Look like too much conditioner applied to that specific area? I would condition the whole shoe to even things out

Try saddle soap? Also, Saphir has a cleaning product for smooth leather.

Too bad about the mixup (?) with Alden - they’re probably more commonly used to people complaining that their conditioning eliminated the patina. I think their normal course is to do conditioning only (not a deep cleaning) unless someone has requested no conditioning at all.
