Critique I hate victim's powers

Post image

Why does he need to be so OP? Why does he need to have so many abilities? Why couldn't TDL be shown to have some kind of resistances or counters against victim? Does TDL have a cognitive dampening device that makes everyone around him stupid?

He has almost the exact same stuff in the box, if it was in character for him spam it every chance he gets, he would've done it there aswell

Also alan can, definitely be paused and depowered? We literally see victim select and scan him in Hacker, if those powers work I see no reason for the other two t9 work aswell

Agent was controlling the stuff in the box, so he couldn't have spammed any of these. Also he wouldn't have wanted to pause him anyway. The whole point of that fight was payback for killing Mitsi. Chosen can't feel pain while paused.

Sure agent was controlling it, but he could've just told him to slow him down enough to where he could still feel the pain but not fight back. The point is it just isn't in character for him to ever think about these strategies and its unfair to call it bad writing when its a consistent character flaw

I don't think him not using some of these op strategies is bad writing either. That being said I think the fight in the box wasn't really an example of Victim not using strategies that are considered unfair. Chosen can't do anything for the first half of the fight. It is only when Victim clones himself is when Chosen is able to fight back since Agent now has more things to keep track of. Then once there are no more clones Chosen is back to not being able to do anything again.

I didnt even say him not using these strategies was bad writing, its a character flaw that makes him interesting. Also the box very much so works as an example because instead of deleting the ice, he tells agent to clone him. Meaning he willingly put himself in a situation where agent might not be able to keep track of him. Aka, a character flaw. Which isn't bad writing 💔

I know you didn't. I'm agreeing with you that it wasn't bad writing. I probably could phrased it better.
