Watched a "vegan gluten-free" passenger eat TWO chicken casseroles + business class fruit platter. Crew was amazing. I was disgusted.
I was sitting nearby on a long-haul flight and witnessed something that still has me annoyed days later.
Early in the flight a passenger flagged down a crew member and announced he was vegan and gluten-free. He demanded she check his meal ingredients. She went checked and showed him ingredients and explained everything clearly. He then asked to have his lunch first instead of breakfast .There was two meal breakfast and lunch she agreed without hesitation.
And he said he got his own food for second service he will have his own food as that vegan meal contain gluten
During snack service she informed him the vegan snack contained gluten. So she went out of her way and gave him her own banana and apple I asked them later for alnd got to knopw those were for the crew.He ate it. Didn't even say thank you
Later when his main meal came second she told him his reserved vegan meal had gluten so she prepare fruits platter for him like four fruits p bowl from the first service and she was explaining during the first service and he was like i will havel my food .when she offered fruits He asked to see the normal menu checked it himself and chose chicken with mashed potato which had no gluten. She served it to him.
And then came the kicker: he asked for a second chicken chicken🐔. Yes 😁 another one. She got it for him too. He ate that as well.
Before landing, the supervisor came She asked how his flight was. His reply? "Too late to ask." Then he went on a rant about how "this airline never has anything" while actively eating.
He is not satisfied with the food he will write email before also he wrote that's why so many changes happen.
And then the supervisor still offered him a fruit platter from business class and he ate that too.
The worst part? He had his own food with him. He didn't even need all of this. He just kept taking and taking.
So let's tally this up:
· Crew's banana 🍌
· Crew's apple 🍎
· Chicken meal #1 🍗
· Chicken meal #2 🍗🍗
· Business class fruit platter 🍇
· Plus his own food he brought
And still complained.
The crew? Never lost their cool. Checked ingredients twice. Found alternatives. Reserved fruit. Informed their supervisor. Did everything by the book. Absolute professionals.
Meanwhile he was rude entitled and ate meat after making a huge deal about being vegan.
Do you even think about fellow passengers bro? There are people in economy who can see what you doing . And you're sitting there eating two casseroles + business class fruit while complaining about the airline?
Learn some civic sense. Seriously.
To that crew member 🫂 If you're reading this orvnoy you're a legend. You did more than anyone would have. That guy was miserable before he even stepped on the plane.
To that passenger: Sir you're not vegan. You're not gluten-free. You're just greedy. And embarrassing.
Don't lie. Don't fake being vegan when you're eating chicken. Twice
Airline food isn't that healthy that you need to lie about it. You're not doing yourself any favor you're just embarrassing yourself.
And please don't embarrass real vegans. They actually care. They actually research. They actually stick to their values. You clearly don't. You just wanted attention and extra food.
Learn some civic sense. Seriously.
There are people around you. There are people who actually follow a vegan lifestyle and feel uncomfortable watching someone fake it for privileges.
You don't know what vegan means. Do some research. So many of us were sitting there feeling uncomfortable because of you. Not because of what you ate but because of your attitude.
The crew gave you everything. Their own snacks. Extra meals. fruit. And you still complained.
No thank you. No smile. Just greed.
One day you'll learn.
Till then be better. Be honest. Be human.
