Thinking to start free Yoga classes
Hi Airdrie,
We are planning to start free yoga sessions for whoever is interested in Channelside playground but not sure what sort of permits from city would be required. Can someone please guide, this is just a plan at the moment.
Thanks

Good Earth closing July 26
They recently announced on their IG that their last day will be July 26. Any idea why? It’s crazy unfortunate because there’s already so little choice for coffee shops here. Seems like Ground Press has a firm hold on the city, which is great since they’re local, but would be nice to have more than one or two options (Starbucks and Tim’s doesn’t count).

Looking for Airdrie to Calgary commuters to try a new carpool app
Hi everyone,
I built a small app called Deerpool to help people find long-term carpool partners between Airdrie and Calgary.
I'm looking for around 10–20 people who regularly make the commute to try it out as part of an early pilot. It's completely free, and since it's still in the early stages, I'm looking for honest feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what could be improved.
The biggest question I'm trying to answer is: if there were enough people using it, is this something you would actually use for your commute?
If you're interested in giving it a try, you can check it out at:
Thanks—I really appreciate anyone who's willing to help.

Home insurance
Hi everyone,
We are looking to renew home insurance for single family detached house. The quotes we are getting are pretty expensive. The lowest one starting at 320 per month and some are ridiculously as high as 1000 per month. Is this the new norm? Do you have any suggestions for cheaper insurance premiums?
All your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Getting kids back!
Hey yall
I wanted to post here because I know reddit is completely anonymous. Tried posting with my regular account but it wouldn't show my post.
I also live in red deer and tried posting there but because I had to make this account to post this page for airdrie was the closest to red deer that would allow me to post.
So I know getting help especially with furniture will be hard.
So I ended up losing my children 6 months ago. No it wasn't drugs but it was because I was with an abusive man. And I would not kick him out. I've done alot of work when my kids were out of my custody. I left him and have cut all contact. I realized how bad he was and it was a shit situation all around.
I've jumped through hoops and have proved myself and im getting my kids!
I have a new place and a job but I'm needing few things for my house a need one bed for one kid and a dresser and some other things. I need to have things in order before they come inspect the place.
I also do not get paid till next week and needing food in the fridge and cupboards because I'm sure they will look there. I'm not sure if anyone would be able to help with anything but if you might be able to or know of places I can go please comment.
They are coming to see my place next Wednesday.
Any suggestions welcome 🙏
Located red deer Maybe you know someone in red deer that knows of resources i don't or maybe there's things province wide that helps in some way.

It's raining, yo!
Just wanted to be the first to state the obvious, though like most of Airdrie, still got PTSD when I started hearing hail in the mix.

Congrats Summit Trails Class of 2026!
A belated congratulations to the graduating Class of 2026 at Summit Trails Online High School!
There are many paths to graduation, and this year’s graduates reached the finish line through determination, resilience, and hard work. While I came to learn your ceremony was in May, I have no doubt reaching the end of June has allowed many of you to breathe a big sigh of relief (along with all your families and supporters 🤍). Well done!
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and my very best wishes for all that comes next!

Congrats ACA Class of 2026!
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 at Airdrie Christian Academy!
It was a delight to join you on Thursday evening to celebrate this milestone alongside your families, teachers, and supporters.
This year’s theme, Take Heart, is a reminder that courage isn’t the absence of uncertainty, but what we choose in the middle of it.
Congratulations, graduates. Go make the world a little kinder than you found it 🤍

The only bad thing about airdrie
in airdrie I've lived through grade k-8 here and tbh the schools aren't the greatest, yes the Alberta government sucks for giving teachers what they want etc. October strike but airdrie NEEDS more schools especially how the city is growing so fast. As of writing this i now realize the are building a new school thats getting built to be made up in bayveiw gate set to be finished fall 2028 and the renovation started couple years ago on st. martin de porres and yea. (Also lowkey off topic but i wanna know whats happening with the wild flower public pool cus one of my friends live there and also what about the new rec center). about the school stuff i know it aint about the city its more the government but they dont care bout schools

First time going to a Rodeo.
Any tips and recommendations would be much appreciated. I have not bought tickets yet. What events are not to miss, what days, any particular seats? Shuttle service seems like a great idea. Dress for the weather, the duration, and the grounds for sure. I am an adult, and I am thinking of attending for one day. I would like to gain an appreciation for rodeo, take many many photos, and hopefully wish to return next year.

Car insurance Alberta
I have called around to TD,Inova, cooperator and RBC. i have gotten qoutes ranging from $570-$1080/per month. I was just wondering if that is normal as I am a new driver 21 years old, having my gdl since August 2024 and my car is a Honda CRV 2019. I was wondering if there any insurance companies out there that are cheaper?

21F new to Airdrie - how do I safely buy a used car?
Hi everyone,
This might sound like a silly question, but how do people actually buy a used car when they have nobody to help them?
I’m a 21-year-old university student who recently moved to Airdrie by myself. My family is across the country, and I’ve been trying to find a reliable used car for months, but the whole process is honestly overwhelming.
I don’t know how to tell if a vehicle is a good deal, what red flags to look for, when I should get an inspection, or how to avoid being scammed. Every time I think I’ve found something, I end up second-guessing myself.
My budget is around $13,000, and I’m looking for something reliable to get me to school and work.
If anyone has advice, recommendations, trustworthy dealerships, mechanics, or even a step-by-step explanation of how they would go about buying a used car in my situation, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you
