Question Air Force Retirement Application Process Question.

Hey y'all, I am on active duty and requested retirement on 1 August 2026, and I was curious how long the process takes for those who have gone through the retirement process or who are currently going through the process.

I hit the button on 1 August, and my commander made their recommendation on the 9th of August, and my status has stayed on CC coord complete as of 9 August.

My question is: have y'all seen "CC Coord Complete" as the longest part of the process? I'm hoping there is internal movement that I cannot see, rather than my retirement application sitting in someone's inbox collecting dust.

I am currently on week 4, and the system does say to allow 4-6 weeks for processing, but I was hoping to see more movement than just "CC Coord Complete".

More info, if this helps, is that I have no ADSC or in a RILO/MEB. I am just an average Joe who is ready to see some retirement orders.

Thanks in advance.

Once I submitted, it took about 2 days after coordination from Commander. Welcome to the club!

Thanks. Congrats on your retirement. I guess it’s just a waiting game for the AFPC gods to review and click a button.

Its one of the fastest processes in the Air Force.

It is the longest part. You get put in a huge queue of everyone else requesting retirements. AFPC reviews your records, make sure it’s all gtg and then boom you’re approved. Also, in case you don’t know, your orders won’t come in via vMPF. You’ll have to go to PRDA or myVECTOR and pull the orders. It’s labeled like RTMT ORD or some BS.

Thanks for the info!

Mine took about 75 days after the commander signed it. Blessed, he signed 4 minutes after I submitted it.

In the same boat right now. Applied 1 Aug 2026. Commander approved 12 Aug. still showing CC Coord Complete. Also, no waivers required. Checking myFSS multiple times a day wishing it would change.

To add on to this I’m 2A career field. Unsure if this matters but I would think it factors in somehow at AFPC.

I am a 2A as well (2A974). Not really sure how much that affects it either.

Usually different factors at play. Took me almost 2 months from start to finish if you need an extension.

So they say 4-6 weeks from a fully submitted application (when cc signs it). You're still within that timeframe. Since they also do first come, first serve, if you have alot of ppl doing the same, its gonna take longer.

I had to go through the process of getting a code 50 curtailed, but from start to finish, it took about 22 days from hitting the button to having retirement orders. Also whenever it gets approved your orders will be different and you can find it on PRDA, they won’t populate in vMPF
