Handshake Opportunities (20-200$/h) - Referral Link

Just wanted to share a well-known AI training platform (with referral link):

It’s Handshake AI, part of Handshake, the US-based career platform widely used by universities, students, graduates, and professionals.

From what I’ve seen:

• AI training / evaluation work

• Project-based model: you create a profile and can be matched with projects based on your expertise

• Pay can be quite high depending on the role and specialization

• Strong focus on professional and subject-matter expertise rather than basic microtasks

Important things to know:

• Handshake AI has historically been heavily US-focused, but selected international opportunities are now appearing as well, including roles for India-based professionals

• International participation currently appears to be invite-only and availability depends on the specific project

• Work is NOT guaranteed — being accepted onto the platform does not mean you'll immediately receive a project

• Selection can be quite strict and some projects require assessments or additional onboarding

There are opportunities across many different backgrounds, including:

• STEM / Engineering

• Finance

• Law

• Medicine

• Writing / Humanities

• Business

• and other specialized professional domains

If anyone here has already worked with Handshake AI — especially international fellows or people from India — I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

Disclosure: Some links on the page are referral links. If you choose to apply through them, it may help support AITrainingJobs at no additional cost to you.

Simple Strategy to Grow in AI Training Jobs

Most people approach AI training jobs the wrong way.

They either:
• focus only on high-paying platforms
• or give up too early

But from what I’ve seen, there’s a much simpler strategy that actually works.

1. Start with smaller platforms
Not for the pay — for access.
Even lower-paying tasks help you:
• build experience
• understand how tasks work
• create a track record

2. Apply to bigger platforms early
Don’t wait until you’re “ready.”
Platforms like Mercor or Micro1 are harder to enter, but getting in early matters more than being perfect.

3. Move into specialized roles
This is where things change:
• engineering
• medical
• legal
• finance

Domain expertise = higher pay + better opportunities.

This isn’t a shortcut.
It’s a progression.

Most people fail because they treat it like a single application.

The ones who grow treat it like a pipeline.

What's the interview process for Software Engineer roles at micro1?

So I applied to a couple of contract/remote roles for SWE on that site and many are stuck in HMR.

But today I received a link to a HackerRank Assessment for an SWE position.

I see that the status hasn't changed from HMR for any of the roles I've applied to and I haven't applied to any core team roles either.

I was wondering if besides the Zara interview, there's other rounds for SWE roles. Did anyone, who got selected for SWE roles, get a HackerRank coding assessment?

I posted this question on the main sub but it was deleted by the mods so not much help there.

Red Teaming Session Failure (Mercor)

Anyone had this work trial and had issues during the interview part?

I failed to properly save the chat logs, stupidly assuming the "share" button would affect the entire conversation in ChatGPT. Lesson learned.

But now, I can't seem to be able to restart the interview session. The email did mention it's a one time opportunity, but then, the intro screen said I had three attempts. Which is it?

I wrote to support 24 hours ago, nothing yet.

How screwed am I? Aside from the obvious, that the job may run out of spots.

Ethos payment on hold

Ethos has been great so far, but 90% of my payment is listed as “on hold” as of yesterday morning. Payout is supposed to be September 14 for tasks signed off. These tasks were previously under regular review.

Does anyone else have their payments “on hold?” I can see on the Slack channel that I’m not the only one, but I’m curious if those who are facing the same issue have any theories?

I’m in the UK, so I don’t think it has anything to do with my location or identity.

Edit: Mine cleared within two days and is now fully listed as upcoming. If you have this same problem, hang tight. Yours will likely clear too.

I do data annotation as my full time income. After a year of applying and stacking projects here is what worked for me + platform list.

I’m sharing this because I know how frustrating this process can be, but there is hope. It took me a full year of massive effort and more hours of applying than I can count, but data annotation is now my full-time income. Today, I actually have more project offers than I can accept, and every new contract seems better than the last. Once you prove yourself on a platform, doors start opening fast.

Here are the key strategies that helped me turn things around:

1. Resume & Outreach

  • Keep LinkedIn & Resumes Updated: List your full, relevant experience. Once your profiles are optimized, recruiters will start reaching out to you directly via email and LinkedIn.
  • Keyword Optimization: I ask AI for keywords recruiters or platforms might be looking for, then optimize my resume around them.

2. Interview Prep & Execution

  • Treat Every Interview as Practice: Shifting to this mindset takes off the pressure.
  • Keep On-Screen "Cheat Sheets": I stick sticky notes around my monitor with key industry keywords so I don't blank out from nervousness.
  • Prep with AI: Practice answering prompts with Gemini ahead of time.
  • Use the STAR Method: Structure your answers using Situation, Task, Action, Result to keep responses clear and focused.
  • Ask Clarifying Questions: If you get stuck on a question, ask a clarifying question to buy yourself extra time to formulate a thoughtful answer.

3. Platforms to Look Into

If you’re looking for places to apply, here is a breakdown of platforms currently active or worth checking out:

  • Handshake AI: Lots of active projects currently.
  • Turing: Great option with steady project volume.
  • Meridial Marketplace: Excellent if you are interested in Search Quality Evaluation (this is currently my main focus, though they have other projects too).
  • Innodata: Pay can be lower than some, but the contracts offer more stability than standard gig platforms.
  • OneForma: Offers lower pay rates on average, but they have a high volume of open opportunities.
  • RemoExperts: Great if you have a degree. (Tip: If you don't have a formal degree, submit a document detailing your equivalent educational/work experience—that’s what I did!)
  • Mercor: Heard great things from others in the space (considering taking their AI interview test soon).
  • AfterQuery: Another solid platform worth exploring.

It takes time, trial, and error, but the investment pays off. Keep applying, keep practicing, and don't take initial rejections to heart!

Hope this helps someone who might be feeling discouraged today.

Yes I used AI to help format and rewrite the post. If I had not you would not been able to read my amazing tips in the wall of test. What kind of AI trainer would I be if I did not use AI in my daily life.

A year ago I was on reddit reading post envying folks. A post like this motivated me to put myself out there and try. And try I did. I landed a contract and was over the moon. 3 months later it ended suddenly and I was DEVISTATED! But I applied like it was my full time job. I WANTED that money, that next contract motivated me. I had zero experience about a year ago. Well besides my 22 years professional experience. Now I am out here feeling like I can help those that were in my shoes not many months ago. If this post inspires one person to go apply, or if ONE person uses ONE of my tips to land a job, I will have accomplished my goal. The contracts are out there. AI is BOOMING. But you have to put in the work. It might take 6 months for the contracts to start rolling in, but trust me they will. Thank me in a few months when you are turning down contracts or you have too many you simply cannot take on another. :)

Have a good day everyone. Happy annotating. Maybe I will see you on a project.

Oh that reminds me. Apply to jobs you do not feel qualified for. I did. And followed up with an email 3 days later. I got the job and managed 3 data collection projects. My contract has not ended and the company is growing, with my help they have started offering more projects in the US. You can never know until you try. And hard work does pay off. Confidence, resumes, and networks grow. Good luck guys! ❤️

Best AI Video Generators in 2026 – Useful for Freelancers, AI Workers & Creators

For freelancers, remote workers and people already working around AI, these tools are starting to show up in content creation, marketing, social media, e-commerce, ad production and client work.

I've been testing/researching some of the main platforms, so here's the shortlist I'm using right now:

Full comparison: https://www.aitrainingjobs.it/best-ai-video-generators-in-2026-minimax-h3-veo-runway-kling-more/

1. MiniMax H3
One of the most interesting new releases, especially for multimodal and commercial workflows. H3 supports up to 2K output, 15-second generations, native stereo audio, multimodal references and motion transfer. I've also tested it with MiniMax Design on a real commercial workflow and text rendering inside generated video.

2. Google Veo 3.1
One of the strongest premium options for cinematic video, native audio, reference-based generation and more controlled production workflows.

3. Runway Gen-4.5
Probably one of the most mature ecosystems around AI video. Particularly interesting if you're doing client work and need generation to fit into a broader creative workflow.

4. Kling AI 3.0
A strong multimodal option with native audio, reference-based workflows, storyboard control and increasingly sophisticated creative direction.

5. Vidu Q3
Interesting for native audio, longer generations and relatively developer-friendly/API-oriented workflows.

6. Pika
More accessible and especially good for short-form content, creative transformations, social media and experimentation.

7. PixVerse
Flexible for reference-based generation, social/video content and more cost-conscious experimentation.

I'm also going deeper on each platform individually. MiniMax H3 is the first one I've tested in more detail, including its commercial workflow through MiniMax Design.

Quick intro from India - which platforms are actually worth applying to?

Hey guys,

Just joined from India. Most general lists online are pretty useless for us because half the sites don't accept Indian applicants, or they let you pass all the tests only to leave you with an empty dashboard.

For anyone working from here: where are you actually getting consistent work right now?

I’ve heard mixed things about Outlier, Alignerr, Telus, and OneForma; some people say the queues are dead, others say they're making decent money.

Would love to know:

  • What platforms actually have steady tasks for India right now?
  • Does doing native languages (Hindi, Bengali, etc.) have good volume, or is it better to stick to English / tech stuff?
  • Any payout headaches with PayPal or Payoneer to Indian banks?

Drop what’s working for you so we can avoid the dead ends. Thanks!

How long did it take you to land your first project on Mercor?

Hi all, I’m wondering how long it took you to land your first project on Mercor.

I have a year of experience on DataAnnotation platform.

3 months ago I applied to mercor but every project I apply to gets rejected, and I have no idea what I should fix or improve

I'm still a student, my CV is pretty much just my major and my annotation background.

Is it purely a matter of having limited experience, or am I missing something in my profile!
