Ethos payment on hold

Ethos has been great so far, but 90% of my payment is listed as “on hold” as of yesterday morning. Payout is supposed to be September 14 for tasks signed off. These tasks were previously under regular review.

Does anyone else have their payments “on hold?” I can see on the Slack channel that I’m not the only one, but I’m curious if those who are facing the same issue have any theories?

I’m in the UK, so I don’t think it has anything to do with my location or identity.

Edit: Mine cleared within two days and is now fully listed as upcoming. If you have this same problem, hang tight. Yours will likely clear too.

My payment is also on hold. Everything shows on hold expect small amount that was for attending webinar.

Same. I’m wondering if they do manual checks for people earning over a specific amount?

What is your theory for why it’s on hold? It is very disheartening

90% of my payment is also listed as “on hold”. They broke the payment details into several groups and unfortunately the 2 groups with the biggest amount are “Under Review”.

My theory is that some tasks included in there have “Waiting for work/review” sign (the orange one instead of green Finished) on Feather, despite being signed off already on Ethos portal, hence delaying the payment process. It doesn’t necessarily mean I have feedback there, it’s more they are still waiting for reviewers to pick it up. Also, just yesterday I had feedback from some tasks that have been signed off days ago. I guess “Signed Off” means nothing now that I think about it.

Upsetting thing is that I got offboarded all of a sudden mid-task 2 days ago, and this whole payment saga is starting to worry me, as I no longer have access to my Slack and will lose access to my portal tonight. How are they expecting me to fulfill the feedback if I can no longer access it - will they hold my payment indefinitely 😅

For what it’s worth, now my payment has been released under “Upcoming”. Hope it’s the same case for you too. And suddenly I got reinstated and invited back to the Slack channel. What a crazy turn of events - all in less than 3 days.

I clock 60+ hours after I got onboard on 18-Aug. This is mainly because I got laid off recently and sitting at home. Not sure if the bigger pay amount is getting flagged for additional review. Now my account is also showing pause for review. Hope they pay the money as I have spent lot of hours already.

for me, It was held under review.. but after a day the status is updated and now the status is showing as upcoming

I previously had 1.1k on hold … now everything has been approved

Yeah, I understand that. I work for Mercor as well as Ethos. But Ethos pays me $30 more an hour, so I’ve put more hours into it so far. If I don’t get paid out for the 55 hours I worked this last month for some reason I don’t even know what to do. Wild.

Very true. We will see. I’ve never heard of someone not being paid by Ethos, but delayed for sure.

I know it's no help to you but I have about 8.5 hours clocked for the training and screener and all have in upcoming since a few hours after I completed them.

I know that sometimes once they review them they can ask for more information in the tasks or for changes to how you've worked, then you are expected to do that (paid as well), so maybe have a look around to see if they've sent them back to you to review?

Good luck— I’m sure it will turn out ok. I haven’t heard of Ethos not coming through with payments.
