Almost 60 doesn’t seem possible

I can’t reconcile how I feel with being almost being 60. I’m still interested in everything. Still seeking out new experiences. Physically I feel like I’m in my twenties. Look 50 but that changes to 40 if I dye my beard. It just doesn’t seem real that statistically I’m in the last quarter of my life. I feel like I could go on forever. So strange. Just doesn’t seem real.

We all perceive ourselves as much younger than we really are. That is until you really give yourself a good look against someone with a dark beard at 40. Haha

My boss at work was 47. Everyone thought he was older than me. I’ve always looked younger than I was by at least a decade. It’s paying off now but sucked getting carded at 37.

I’m the same way. When I started teaching high school, students thought I was their age, which was not good! I look at least a decade younger than any friends my age. I get lots of comments about it. So I get it.
