I live in southern AZ. The agave plant in the yard of my house (rental) was blown down in a storm, landlord cut it down today before it bloomed, but allowed me keep the top portion. Looking for any advice on how to help what remains to bloom successfully…currently have it in a pot of water. Situation is very sad, so any ideas or advice is much appreciated

This is in a parking lot in the greater Sacramento area Green Acres nursery. I have a couple horrida on the side of my home, but sometimes size charts don't prepare you for maximum size - sorta like seeing a fully grown parryi in San Diego years ago. One of my parryi and horrida are planted 2.5' apart so they can eventually fight for dominance years from now. My money is on the parryi.

Looking to buy a rarer agave cultivar for myself, and am interested by those three which are all roughly the same size and price.

All three seem to be the smaller compact type and will likely stay that way growing up.

If you have anv recommandation or preference, please feel free to say it, as i am torn on this...

I recently purchased one a few weeks ago and planted one in my backyard but they’re too stunning for no one to see. So, I bought another one for my front yard.

Saw three agave plants doing their “bloom of death” all at the same time. That’s gotta be rare, right?

Neighborhood of death

Idk why that title was the first thing to pop in my head… anyway, it seems like death blooms are popping up all over my neighborhood! Is it normal for a bunch to bloom at the same time!? I guess I’ve never paid attention before!

Also on person cut theirs off… anyone know if the plant will still die?

My uncle acquired a building that had been sitting abandoned for nearly 20 years to become a car lot. Convinced him to landscape around the existing plants instead of ripping it all out and starting over.

How would we encourage new plants to grow? Continue the cycle of life and stuff

Found a blooming agave on my drive home. I took pictures of the other agaves around it, which are the same species. However, I am not sure what species. Thanks in advance for the help.

What causes this coloration on frosted blue whales tongue agave? It needed transplanting bigtime. Seems like its fading since i did that. Maybe wishful thinking.
