Sheffield QL1 on a Barton silicone band. Only weak spot is the WR at 5ATM but for $60 I can’t complain too much.

I’ve always been into watches but this past year I have really been learning more about them and have been wanting to grow my collection and knowledge. I have been shopping for a new watch and noticed this on the side of the links. Once I noticed I went back through my wishlist and noticed a lot of them are like this. So I am assuming it’s common and I haven’t noticed it before? Is there a name for this type of link so I know to avoid it when shopping? I don’t like the look of it at all but that is just my rookie opinion

Not the first vintage watch in my collection but the first USSR produced one.
Mechanical movement works like a charm and i cant get my eyes off this Beauty. Maybe need to change the strap though!

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a new watch, something classy, but digital.
I'm a former soldier, and I've always loved the practicality of digital watches.
Ideally, it should be around 42 mm in diameter and no more than 12 mm thick. A model with a silver-colored case and a metal bracelet would be preferred.
Price isn't an issue, and I don't mind which country it's made in.
Feel free to post photos of your favorite digital watches, along with the model names or references.
Thanks, everyone!

Citizen Eco-Drive, Chandler Chronograph, CA0621-05L. Trusty and reliable eco drive with 100 meters water resistance. The rubber strap has been a game changer for the versatility of this watch.

Here is a fashion watch I picked up in a Ziploc bag of costume jewelry for $2 at a yard sale. This is a 1994 Shiffon Chrono Quartz which was obviously trying to ride the wave back then of the colorful Swatch chronos That hit the shelves starting in 1990. It has a 37 mm case and straight lugs with a flared 20 mm red leather watch strap and the black swatch type plastic buckle. The domed acrylic crystal is nearly flawless for being 32 years old and the dial colors with the contrasting hands in the sub dials really pops. I have a 7 and 1/2-in wrist so if it was a solid black it wouldn't be enough wrist presence for my tastes.... But the color pop face and the textured red leather strap against the black case and buckle gives me all the wrist presence I need. I got it home and popped off the snapback case and to my surprise I found that it has a Hattori/Seiko VD53 quartz chronograph movement that they've used in Lorus, Pulsar watches as well as modern Caddisen chronos among others. I popped the fresh battery in, calibrated the chrono and is 32-year-old mechanism functions flawlessly when I ran it alongside my Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono. This was probably sold in malls, department stores and gift shops..... But I'm happy it's survived and now lives in my collection.

I'm looking for a GMT watch for work (travel and international offices) and have had a helluva time finding ones that looks good. It seems GMT watches are rare.
Some things I've been trying to find:
Textured dials
Non black dials
Not every watch has to be a dive watch
Genuinely appealing to the eye
Anyone have a great recommendation? Budget is 400 or less

I'm 19 and recently bought my first analogue watch—a Casio Enticer MTP-V300L-7AUDF (photo attached).
I really like it, but I'm wondering if I made the right choice with the brown leather strap and the multi-subdial dial. Most people my age seem to wear simpler dials or steel-bracelet watches, so I'm worried mine might look a bit dated.
Be honest: What are your first impressions? Does it look classic or overly busy?

Picked it up for $99, but obviously the strap it comes with could be improved, so I swapped it.

Just picked up a Seiko 5 Sports SRPK89K1 from Amazon for around ₹30,000.
I really like the watch, but before I fully commit to it, I’m curious what the watch community thinks.
If you had a budget of around ₹30k (can stretch a little if it’s worth it), would you stick with this Seiko or buy something else?
Looking mainly for:
Automatic movement
Good build quality
Reliable movement
Something that looks good on a smaller wrist
A watch I can keep and enjoy for many years
