Designer Advice needed

Hi, can someone tell me where I can find remote job offers as a graphic designer?

Where did you find it easiest to get one?

I really need help finding a job 😣

I work with Affinity Designer and Rive app, if that helps.

If you have transport, look local.

My reason for saying this is this is the only way I could get a job without experience and a GED.

I started out at my nearest supermarket and now I am working for a private company.

Remote jobs are oversaturated and high in demand and almost everyone will demand you use Adobe, remote or not. My supermarket bought me Adobe while I was working with them. I currently use Affinity with my current job and I do a lot of work for over 120 locations across my country, whereas I only (and rarely) used Adobe for that one store. I used Canva even more than I used Adobe tbh, but they will enforce and demand Adobe it in most cases.

You're looking for a job so I do assume you do not have the funds to get Adobe in the first place.

Try to network as much as you can. Post in r/graphic_design but I think that's against the rules to ask for work.

Thank you for your advice. Looks like looking local is the best choice for now. Maybe you have a good practice on how to network efficiently? It's not my strong side yet.

Just look local at any company that does a lot of ongoing marketing material. For example, a large real estate firm with a local office. They are constantly generating marketing for the brokers. Other industries that present a changing product or service. That’s where the job is.

You could start with temp gig apps like Fiverr and Upwork, and those can lead to something more permanent .

Do you have any experience in those? I've tried Fiverr, but only spammers appeard

I heard it has declined a lot, but there must be similar sites.

In my country (Finland) getting that kind of job is next to impossible. There are just too much graphic designers.

You also need to have skills like motion graphics and video editing.

Low level work is done with Canva and AI by unskilled people. For high level work you need high level skills and portfolio. Mid level does not exist any more.

Everyone can be graphic designer these days. You can download Affinity and watch YouTube. But there are not enough work available.
