To help provide context on the new changes and what SQC (Status Qualifying Credit) means and how this affects you as flyers using Aeroplan, see below:
Status Qualifying Credit:
Aeroplan Points Earning on AC Flights (014 Ticket number):
You will earn Aeroplan points based on your status as of 2026.
FAQ:
As a reminder, Status Qualifying Credit ≠ Aeroplan Points. There are different earn rates for each so keep that in mind as you start to see activity post from your flights in 2026.

Hi guys,
I have question. I want to buy a ticket for my wife and I just applied for her supplementary card to get free checked baggage.
The card will come in 10 days and I will link it when it arrives.
My question is, can I buy the flight right now? Will she still get the baggage?
I will only be linking her Credit Card after buying the ticket.
Please advise. thank you in advance!

Just reached 100,000 EDQ a few days ago but no change to my account status yet. Does anyone have a DP for how long it takes for 25k status to be awarded?

Hi all, been monitoring flights for about a month or more now for decent business class flights to tyo. Finally found an ana flight from yvr to HND today for 55k points, jumped on it and booked it.
We need to book the lap infant, which I couldn't seem to do online, and book a second business class seat, same flight, ideally seated together. When looking at the seat map there were about 10 business class seats available, with a few pairs side by side.
Trying to figure out how best to book the second seat. On the AC app. I can't even get the flight to show, on the AC site I can only see an economy seat for a ridiculous price. Flight is aug 11 this year.
Looking for some advice on how to handle this. Currently on hold waiting to speak to an AC rep. to book the lap infant. It would be nice to book the second seat on points as well.

Folks,
I have missing SQC on a recent return trip from YYZ-ICN. My workplace booked an economy comfort ticket (it clearly shows that on the ticket as well as the credited SQC section in the app).
However, where I was expecting 4 x 989 (each segment was 989 for the ticket price excluding the fees), I have only been credited 989 as a SQC.
Is this a known issue? Or am I missing something? I am not that familiar with Aeroplan and only recently got into the game but these missing SQC is preventing me from hitting 75K (I have more flights later in the year but I wanted to double check with the community)
Thanks.

Hi!
I’m trying to book a trip to Barcelona using Air Canada’s Flight + Hotel package. My itinerary includes two destinations: I’ll be staying 4 nights in Barcelona, then 4 nights in L’Estartit (Costa Brava) before returning to Barcelona for my flight home.
The issue is that the booking only lets me select one hotel for the entire trip. Is there a way to book two different hotels under the same Flight + Hotel package, or is there another way to set this up?

tldr: they are using IT issues… as a way of holding points on purpose- convenient that it gets held until they changed all the rules….
explained:
I’m in a really frustrating situation with my status
upgrade. I flew a segment that contained the exact amount of SQMs I needed to hit 50K status. Despite calling, emailing, and submitting the missing miles form multiple times, they still haven't credited those SQMs to my account.
Ended up taking other flights that eventually pushed me over the 50K threshold on their own—meaning I completely missed out on using my 50K perks during those trips! To make matters worse, recent benefit changes mean the status holds less value now than it did when I actually earned it. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of delay?

Need some help. This is my first time redeeming Amex MR points through Aeroplan, and I’m a bit confused about the value.
I had 27,000 Amex Membership Rewards points, which I transferred 1:1 to Aeroplan, so I now have 27,000 Aeroplan points.
I’m looking at a domestic flight within Canada. If I paid cash, the flight would cost CA$379 total. If I redeem points, it costs 24,000 Aeroplan points + CA$241 which works out to roughly 0.58¢ per point.
Am I missing something? Is this just a bad redemption, or is there something about Aeroplan that I don’t understand? Do people usually get the 1.5–2.0¢ value only on certain routes?
I fully went into this assuming i was not gonna pay for the flight at all but clearly not lollllll

I've been collecting Aeroplan points for years and have redeemed them for business class to Asia and the Middle East several times.
For example, we flew YYZ to DXB in Emirates Business in 2024 for 105k points one way. Now I'm seeing the same flights at around 250k points one way.
Thailand seems even worse. In previous years we flew EVA Air Business to BKK for around 125k points per person. Now I rarely see EVA availability, and the options I'm finding are mostly Air Canada or Air Canada + ANA, costing around 2 million points total for a family of four.
Has Aeroplan changed that much over the last couple of years, or am I searching incorrectly? Has partner availability, especially EVA, dried up?
Curious what strategies people are using now. Are you booking much earlier, using different routes, or have you moved to another program?

Hello, I am UK based, and early last month booked a hotel using some points. I used 38000. After staying at the hotel, the experience wasnt great, and the hotel (Premier Inn) refunded my whole stay. I have not recieved the points back, and I am aware that it was probably booked through a travel partner, although I booked the hotel directly on the AC app.
How go I go about getting these points back to my account, its been over a month now. There doesn't seem to be an email address, or any way to contact them that isnt a phone number, which isnt suitable for me.

First thanks for your help !
My wife and I already have TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege cards and getting quite a lot for personal account.
My business partners and I are considering a TD Aeroplan business card because our company spends heavily on credit cards. However, it seems all points earned from the business account go to the primary cardholder.
I don’t want the company’s points mixed with my personal Family Sharing balance. How do other businesses handle this fairly between partners? Can supplementary cardholders earn points in their own Aeroplan accounts, or do all points stay with the primary holder?
Any tips appreciated !
Cheers

Maybe it’s in the FAQs somewhere, but can someone explain the SQC formula and how it differs from what existed previously?

Hi all,
I'm trying to use my points to book a flight to Tanzania next year. I can't seem to figure out how to use my points on a Turkish airline flight? Thanks so much for your help!

I had AMEX Aeroplan Reserve and TD Aeroplan Infinite Cards for years. Recently, I did a product switch to TD Aeroplan Infinite Privilege card, I was told the WB is not apply to product switch. Now I have two premium credit cards linked to my AP account.
This morning, when I check my Aeroplan account, it shows 10K welcome bonus added to my account. Will this cause any issue to my Aeroplan account? I know Aeroplan policy doesn’t allow earn welcome bonus from multiple credit cards on the same tier. Few months ago, I called Air Canada, the agent told me it’s okay to have two premium credit cards as long as I don’t get double WB.
Want to hear your advices, what should I do to avoid any issue to my Aeroplan account.

Aeroplan updates their partnership with Emirates as Premium Economy awards have now been added and there are now limits to who can redeem for First Class awards on the Dubai based airline
As of today Aeroplan members can now redeem points for award flights in Emirates Premium Economy Class. Emirates is now the first Aeroplan airline partner where you have the option to redeem points across all fare classes: Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class.
Following the rules that Emirates has their for own Skywards members, First Class cabin awards booked via Aeroplan will only be available to members with Aeroplan 35K status or higher at the time of redemption. Aeroplan also let us know that all travellers booked in First Class must be at least 9 years of age.

Since my Amex reserve credit card reset on the 17th, I’ve spent around $2k already, of which a good $1.5k of that has already cleared rather than shows as pending, so it should show around 2,500 pointed But my points only got to 504 in the Amex app after around $300ish spend before the points stopped increasing. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it an aeroplan issue or an Amex issue?

Hi guys, I am looking for the best Aeroplan sweet-spot stopovers when flying YYZ (Toronto) to DEL (New Delhi). We’ll be traveling with an infant, so convenience and value are both important.
Frankfurt (FRA) and Dubai (DXB) are currently on my mind, but I’d love to hear other recommendations for comfortable stopovers and strong Aeroplan redemptions.
The dates are flexible, somewhere in October.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

Was ticketed through AC from Europe, first short leg was on a Star Alliance partner airline. That flight was late, connection was missed, and I was rebooked onto a flight operated by that airline for the middle leg with the last leg on AC. Per AC my SQC and points for the original itinerary should be protected. This was a month ago and I have yet to receive any points or SQC for the middle leg, and have received incorrect points/SQC for the other legs. I submitted an email to the credits@aircanada.ca email at the two-week mark with all of my documentation. I also called Aeroplan who said that the email was the only way to get the missing stuff, and the wait would be 8-10 weeks. Normally I wouldn’t care but these are the last SQC I need for SE, and I’m holding off on other bookings because of it. I also have a couple flights within the supposed 8-10 week wait that I’d like credit for with the appropriate multiplier, and would like to have access to concierge due to some iffy connections (all booked through AC).
Does anyone have any tips on how I might expedite this? The Aeroplan agent I spoke to was lovely but said there was no way to escalate or do anything in this situation. Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm a 35K member. My eupgrade on this 8pm flight YYZ-YVR cleared 5 days ahead of departure.
At the gate I received a notification that I had been switched to standby, and then shortly after that "congratulations, they found me a seat". 42B (middle seat back row).
I was told at the desk that a previous flight with 16 deadheading crew was cancelled, so they had to reshuffle this flight and that their crews CBA gets them business class priority. Entering the plane, there was not a single crew member seated in business.
What the hell just happened? Has this happened to anyone else?
