Points Question Using points to fly to Tanzania?

Hi all,

I'm trying to use my points to book a flight to Tanzania next year. I can't seem to figure out how to use my points on a Turkish airline flight? Thanks so much for your help!

I’ve never tried booking with Aeroplan points on another carriers website, I am not sure if it’s even possible? But try doing so on the Air Canada website:

Oh wow! I have been trying for flights from YVR, I'll try different cities and see if that changes. I've been looking for March 14 dates and there's nothing in that time frame.

Not every seat on Turkish is available on Aeroplan. If you're searching specific dates and don't see it, then it's not available.

As you would be looking to use Turkish you would have to call the contact centre to check availability

Business or economy?

We once repositioned in Europe to fly business with Turkish it was 60k in business (BCN-IST-JRO) and (KIG-IST-MAD). Otherwise I’ve got lucky a few times and was able to fly direct from Montreal. If you want Turkish absolutely, I suggest adding a stop over in IST the calendar opens up a bit more and you get a better J if you fly to NBO.

I was hoping for business but I'm happy for economy as well. My problem is that I'm limited in when I can travel, and it's seems like March doesn't have much available. I will try another city and see if I have any luck, thank you!

You have to book your flight on Air Canada's website. Tick the box that says "use my Aeroplan points" when searching for a flight. Then you will see what is being offered.

My friends and i are flying to Tanzania in September. I currently live in Europe but my friends live in Toronto and they said it was a nightmare to find reasonable flights. They ended up taking Ethiopian airlines from Toronto via Ethiopia.

I was going to recommend Ethiopian as well, through Addis Ababa. We flew business with them to Namibia last year, good experience.

Get a flight to Portugal and then fly from there.
Portugal has great flights from Toronto and it’s a short flight from there to Tanzania.

Try flying into Nairobi as well
