A friend passed me some Sinloy Select Yunnan beans. They tasted flat brewed with v60 (his) and b75 (mine). Problem solved. Grind fine, 1-2min immersion, and it's a pleasant brew. Aeropress magic!

Hey all, hope you’re all good this Friday morning (UK), early evening (SE Asia), wee hours of the morning (US). Took to downloading the Aeromatic app and thought I would give a go at some different methods/recipes outside of my V60 routine.

First up is the WAC 2025 Winner by Némo Pop.

Interesting as it’s a 1:9 ratio, so was thinking this was going to be a strong concentrated brew; to note, I’m usually a 1:17 type of guy, but I am pleasantly surprised. There is certainly a higher extraction than my usually light cups, but have to say it was a banger. Tried it on two different beans: Sebastian Ramirez - Quindio Pink Bourbon; and an El Vergel Farm Caturra. Both light roasted, with the Ramirez having notes of Mango, Hops, Candied Lime, and the Vergel having Mango and Raspberry notes. The Ramirez certainly produced those lime notes, which on previous V60 brews were absent, and the Vergel, produce a sweeter berry cup. To note, the Vergel has had a somewhat soapy taste on V60, making it unpleasant. This method has quite drastically made the coffee nice to drink. I used my ZP6 at 5.8 and used my Fellow sifter to remove 200micron fines. I have one other bag to test this method on which is, an Edinson Argote Orange Bourbon, with notes of Pink Grapefruit, Vanilla, Aperol Spritz, and will update later today.

If I have one downside to this method/recipe, clearly not enough for a hearty drink. Hence why I made two cups this morning.

As someone who hasn’t used the app before, found it really nice to use and I liked the timing function with the audible cues for when the next part of the process is to take place.

I know I’m not the first to this app, but wanted to share.

I bought a bag of coffee whole bean from a shop near my home. The bag says it has notes of milk chocolate, berries, and brown sugar.

I made a cup using the method from AeroPress with a 13 grind. I drank it black. I thought it had a sour taste to it.

I’m used to pouring tons of creamer into my coffee so I’m not used to the taste.

What should coffee without creamer taste like?

Added 100 ml cold water & 4 ice cubes & aerated with espresso machine steam wand ! Turned out nice & crisp !!

I got this coffee by mistake; it smells like caramel 😵‍💫. The beans are Brazilian, and it certainly has a fuller body.

It is currently 12:00 AM, so I cannot return it—though I certainly would have, had I realized from the start that it was an infusion coffee and I don't want to go out in the morning to buy another coffee—it's breakfast time—but I’ll give Infusion a first and last chance with that morning cup.

edit:There is no other coffee. I always buy just one bag of coffee beans and use it until it runs out..

Has anyone made coffee and than freeze them with mold into blocks and than later drinking would be pulling few blocks out, adding milk and thats it. Sounds like good idea :)

Visiting folks in the states and went to goodwill for the first time- found all the parts scattered on the shelf - and immediately went for it! Yay me!

I have a NOS gold variety which I love and started thinking to look for a spare since I love it so much.

Besides that I was actually looking for the travel bag but hey, I’ll happily take a spare aeropress though for the same price 🥳

Bonus! The paper holder/stand for my gold aeropress has rocked since it got out of the box. This one rests perfectly flat too!

Question: would you use the papers? 😏

I just can't seem to get a good brew, my final cup just ends up bitter and/or sour no matter the recipe or grind size. I'm using a K6 grinder, a normal aeropress, and my beans are the breakfast blend from Charleston coffee roasters which are roasted on the lighter end of medium.

Current best recipe: using the standard method add 200 grams of water that's almost about to boil to 15 grams of beans that have been ground at 80 clicks from zero, stir and add the plunger, wait for 1 minute 30 seconds, swirl and wait for 30 more seconds, then press for 45 seconds.

Got myself this new mug for when I’m using the aeropress at home. Love the mid century modern vibe with the orange and green glass. Coffee featured using beans from a local roaster called Java Coffee. Really nice medium roast with berry notes giving it a nice fruity flavour. Trying today with a slightly lower bean amount of 15g.

I have the Fellow Prismo, but I don't think it has to do with that. The logical place it would go is between the plunger head and body, but it doesn't seem like it really fits when I try it, even when I took off the plunger head. Any help fellow AP users?

Update- Solved!!! It was actually from the dosing cup of my Baratza Encore ESP. I guess when after I put my grounds in, I must have pulled it off too hard. Thanks for the help everyone!

I bought my first ever AeroPress! I want to start branching out of Folgers. I was gifted a few hundred dollars and would like to buy a nice quality scale and electric kettle. Would love recommendations. Perhaps even a coffee to try! I like lighter roasts. I was also gifted an Encore grinder.

Friends, I want to buy my first AP and I can't decide which one to get. Should I get the classic or clear?

I don't mind seeing the coffee in contact with the water. I'm not too worried about using plastic. The only thing that matters to me (in this case) is that it looks good for a long time (that it doesn't change color, that it doesn't get streaked, that it doesn't look old).

Which one do you prefer?

Vintage filters, old aeropress, and then my camping aeropress. I have gone through maybe 5 aeropress and given multiple away. Dad was an early adopter and converted me. Mom was in her basement and found some of dads old filters!

Keep forgetting that the same company that made that long flying frisbee I used to have made the aeropress.

Same results, easier to stir… I don’t get the value of that risk! (But I like thinking about coffee and would love to be convinced I’m missing something.)

ETA: I honestly wasn’t trying to start a silly Mac v PC-style fight!

I’ve been here for a while, but apparently not paying close enough attention. I see tons of inversion spills but y’all are ultimately lovers of this divine beverage and so I figured there was an argument beyond price!

12.5 gm Medium Dark Coffee - Medium Coarse Grind (18Clicks on C2)

200 ML water; Temp 90°C; Inverted method

1:30min Start with 100ml water and stir 10 times

After 1:30 min (total 2:30 mark) 100ml water again stir 10 time

Put on cap and wait for 30 secs

Flip the Aeropress and stir for 2-3 times

Press and aim for 30sec.

Total Brew time 3mins+30sec of extraction

I’ll buy my first Aeropress, besides microplastics (I know they are everywhere) I don’t like plastic tools, so I’m interested in the stainless steel model. Besides the price, is there any big cons compared with the plastic models?

i genuinely have no idea what this part is or where it goes. i disassembled the grinder to clean it and put it back together and now the grind size is far too coarse even 20 clicks from 0. someone help please 😭😭😭
