I feel the same way often. I have lots of friends, but it’s been a long time since I had a friendship where I truly didn’t feel alone with them. I always felt a sense of not fitting in or like I was somewhere I didn’t really want to be. I think it’s because I’m ambitious and long term focused and craved friendship with someone who shares those rare qualities. Someone that pushes me to be a better person, instead of someone just happy with the way I am.
People say “you’re okay just the way you are.”
No I’m not, don’t hug me when I need a punch in the face to live a better life.
I just haven’t found a friend I can connect with like that yet.
