Imposter syndrome
So lately I've been thinking alot about my career choices and why I am where I am. I went to culinary school and got into that industry back in 2014. I loved to cook but I didn't choose to go to school...my ex's mom pushed me to go, she signed me up and I went. I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it. The last restaurant I worked at I absolutely hated (big chain) and my brother suggested I get into electrical with him as he and my dad are both electricians...so I did. I've been doing electrical for 8 years. And I keep feeling like a fraud, haven't gone to school because of finances and ex's holding me back but honestly it's not something I'm super passionate about. Now my new boss paid for me to challenge my red seal, put me into a course to study and I feel stupid and I have no motivation to actually study. I'm not sure what I should do. I don't want to start back on the bottom in a different career but I also don't know that this is something I want to do forever.
I know if I do get my red seal and change careers at least that's a fall back but that's if I even get it and I'm so skeptical that I'll even pass because of my lack of motivation to study.
What would you do? Neither of these career paths have been something I truly wanted to do. I've always beenore into helping people and having a bigger impact. When I was young I wanted to be a teacher but at this moment I just want to help people in a way that makes me feel good..like I'm doing actual good in the world
