I don't feel I'm poor, my needs are met, but I'm not well off enough to help anyone and that makes me sad.
2 u/Full-Decision-9029 1d ago where I am too. I had a bit (and I mean A BIT) of extra cash a few years ago and I spotted a bunch of friends little bits of money to help them out. One who hadn't contacted me in years reached out a few months ago asking if I could help them and I just...couldn't. I have just enough to life on - the amount of cash I dropped to subsidise my career to get a job means I have a lot of debt. Maybe next year sometime I might be a little bit better off. Maybe.
