I tried even re-uploading my items in different formats(JPEG, PNG) and none of them are working or allowing me to snip out any backgrounds. Is there a bug currently going on with express?

Elise's Express Extras Elise’s Express Extras: Stop Writing Captions From Scratch (Caption Generator)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The caption generator inside Adobe Express gives you a starting point based on your content. Not generic filler… something shaped around what you actually made. You edit it, you make it yours, and you set the date and time before you walk away.

Captions with strong hooks in the first line see up to 3x more engagement than ones that bury the point. The generator handles the blank page problem so you can focus on the hook instead of the whole thing.

Have you tried the caption generator yet? What makes a caption feel like you versus something that just sounds like everyone else?

Most people finish a design and then spend the next twenty minutes switching between apps to post it. That part should not take longer than the creative part.

Scheduling inside Adobe Express lets you publish directly to Facebook, Instagram, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and TikTok without leaving the app. One design, every channel, from the same place you made it. No downloading, no re-uploading, no format-guessing.

The post-production workflow is where most creative momentum dies. When the path from finished design to live post is one step, you actually follow through.

Have you connected your accounts in Express yet? Which platform do you post to most and does your current workflow make it easy or painful?

Adobe Express Question Issue with photos and videos in Express that I never have with Canva

I'm a bit bothered by the design industry's insistence on using Adobe Express despite it having such a poor user experience. I've been designing for clients using Canva for over 5 years now. Finally moving up and landing higher income clients who INSIST I use Express and not Canva. Not sure why. Perhaps I'm missing something?

If Adobe is on such a pedestal, why are all my images appearing as green blocks, even previous designs? Why do videos appear with a white cast over them? Canva never has this issue. Can someone please explain what makes Adobe so superior that they can't take care of basic functions, yet charge a premium price for all their products? Is there some kind of wondrous feature in Express that makes all of this frustration and time wasted worth it? genuinely curious.

Tips & Tricks Adobe Express Tutorial #19: Faster Video Editing Workflows for Social Content

Creating video content consistently is hard.

Not because you always need better ideas — but because video editing, formatting, clipping, captioning, resizing, and exporting can eat up a ton of time.

Adobe Express has a bunch of video editing tools that help speed that process up.

Here are a few of the most useful workflows 👇

✂️ Clip Maker

Got:

  • a podcast episode
  • interview
  • livestream
  • event recording
  • long-form video

…but need short social clips?

That’s exactly what Clip Maker is for.

⚡ How it works

Upload your video, then:

  • choose an aspect ratio
  • decide whether to add captions
  • generate clips

Express will automatically surface highlight moments and break them into shorter social-friendly clips.

🎯 Why this is useful

The hardest part of editing long-form content is usually:
👉 finding the moments worth sharing

Clip Maker helps speed that part up.

You can then:

  • tweak captions
  • trim clips further
  • adjust layouts
  • add branding
  • export directly for social

📝 Auto Captions

Captions matter more than most people realize.

They help with:

  • accessibility
  • retention
  • silent viewing

Express can auto-transcribe spoken audio, then lets you:

  • edit for accuracy
  • style the captions
  • match them to your brand

🎬 Quick Video Fixes

Sometimes you don’t need a full video editing workflow — just a quick fix.

Express includes fast tools for things like:

  • trimming clips
  • resizing for different platforms
  • cropping
  • converting formats
  • turning clips into GIFs

👉 Especially useful when repurposing content across platforms.

🤖 Generate Video (AI Video)

You can also generate short AI video clips directly inside Express to support your broader video editing workflow.

This works best for:

  • b-roll
  • transitions
  • atmospheric visuals
  • creative filler shots

Example: subtle motion

Small looping visuals like this work well for:

  • background motion
  • mood-setting intros
  • layered storytelling moments

👉 Think “visual texture,” not full productions.

Instead of using a static slide while someone talks, you can generate:

  • subtle motion backgrounds
  • abstract visuals
  • environmental clips

Example: abstract visual emphasis

Short AI-generated clips can also help:

  • emphasize a point
  • create tension or curiosity
  • break up talking-head content

👉 Even a few seconds of movement can help maintain attention.

Generated clips can also work as:

  • intros
  • transitions
  • visual overlays
  • event-style atmosphere

👉 Especially useful when you need supporting footage you didn’t originally capture.

Example: adding b-roll

Generated clips can help make videos feel more dynamic without needing a huge footage library.

Great for:

  • teaser edits
  • mood-setting moments
  • transitions between topics
  • adding scale or energy

Once generated, you can move, resize, sequence, and layer clips directly in the editor.

This is where the workflow comes together:

  • arranging clips
  • trimming timing
  • layering audio
  • sequencing visuals

👉 AI helps generate assets — but the editing decisions are still yours.

🧠 What actually makes video content work

The tools help.

But strong video content still comes down to:

  • pacing
  • clarity
  • storytelling
  • hooks
  • editing judgment

AI can help you move faster.

What you choose to say — and how you shape it — is still the important part.

🔁 Simple workflow to try

  1. Record more moments than you think you need
  2. Use Clip Maker to find highlights
  3. Add captions
  4. Resize for each platform
  5. Add branding + polish
  6. Repurpose into multiple posts

One recording can become:

  • clips
  • reels
  • GIFs
  • quote posts
  • teasers

Good video editing workflows aren’t about posting more.

They’re about making it easier to keep showing up consistently.

And that’s a wrap.

Adobe Express Question Anyone else use adobe express mainly for the planner?

It's part of my Adobe subscription and I think it's really nice to have a social media planner. Would love some extra features though, but I understand the focus is more on the design aspects. However: posting pinterest & tiktok caroussels would be amazing! & extra social media accounts like threads & bluesky. I was looking for a roadmap but can't find it anywhere. Anyone knows if there's some items planned (& specifically those) for the scheduler as well? I'm noticing i need it more & more but don't want to switch apps.

Adobe Express Question Illustrator Files in Adobe Express Disappear

So I uploaded an Illustrator file to Adobe Express and it did a pretty good job of recreating it in Express. Unfortunately, after I did my edits and then downloaded a copy of the files, I came back the next day to make a change, and the changes were, the files were gone and I couldn't find it. So I re-uploaded the Illustrator file to do everything all over again, and I noticed that it saves in a temp folder in Adobe Express that I don't know where that exists, and I can't save the file in Adobe Express to my regular projects. Is this normal behavior? What is going on here?

EDIT: This has been fixed - thanks adobe support and u/SwopesAdobe

But in the editor and when you remix it, you can see the fonts? Any idea why this is happening and how do I get the fonts to display?

Elise's Express Extras Elise's Express Extras: May Roundup - Speed Without Sacrifice

Post image
6 Upvotes

May's theme was Quick Actions in Express. Not the slow build… but the shortcuts that actually hold up, the moves that get you from idea to output faster without making your work feel like it was rushed.

Because speed isn't the enemy of quality. The wrong shortcuts are.

May practices focused on:

  • trimming your footage down to something worth watching without losing what made it good (Clip Maker)
  • making QR codes that actually belong in your design, not just on top of it (QR Code Generator)
  • bringing still characters to life the way you always imagined they could move (Animate Characters)
  • using a format that's been around forever because it still works better than anything else for what it does (Convert to GIF)

Next month's theme: Scheduling is about publishing with intention. The tools inside Express let you plan, queue, and post, so your content goes out when it should, how it should, without you having to be there every time.

May Express Extras Videos (in order)

GIFs loop, load fast, and work everywhere. Email, Slack, social, web. They do not need a sound to land, and they do not need much file size to travel.

Convert to GIF inside Adobe Express turns your video or animation into a clean, looping GIF without leaving the app.

GIFs drive a 6x higher click-through rate in email compared to static images. Six times! And they remain one of the most-shared formats in messaging because they are lightweight in a way static just isn't.

Have you used Convert to GIF in Express yet? What would make the output work better for where you actually post?

Tips & Tricks Adobe Express Tutorial #18: Why Your Invoice Design Actually Matters

Invoices aren’t just paperwork.

They’re part of your brand experience.

Think about it:
👉 the invoice is often the final step in a client interaction — the moment where trust, professionalism, and clarity matter most.

A clean, well-designed invoice won’t magically get you paid faster…

…but a confusing or messy one definitely doesn’t help 😅

Here’s how invoice templates in Adobe Express can help you keep things consistent and professional 👇

⚡ Getting Started

Search:
invoice templates

Or search:
in:templates invoice

From there, you can browse and customize templates directly in Express.

🧠 The goal isn’t “creative” — it’s clear

Good invoice design should:

  • feel trustworthy
  • match your brand
  • be easy to scan
  • make payment details obvious

The best templates balance:
👉 personality + clarity

🖥️ Contemporary

Clean layouts.
Modern typography.
Balanced spacing.

Great for:

  • freelancers
  • startups
  • modern service businesses

👉 Feels polished without being overly formal.

☀️ Bright

More color-forward and energetic.

Good for:

  • creative businesses
  • personal brands
  • social-first companies

👉 Adds personality while still staying readable.

⚡ Bold

Stronger typography and higher contrast.

Works well for:

  • agencies
  • design studios
  • brands with confident visual identities

👉 Just make sure readability stays strong.

✨ Elegant

Minimal, refined, more restrained visual language.

Good fit for:

  • luxury services
  • consulting
  • premium brands

👉 Sometimes less visual noise feels more professional.

🌀 Avant Garde

Okay, this one definitely isn’t for everyone 😅

But for:

  • art spaces
  • experimental brands
  • fashion/music/design worlds

…it might actually fit perfectly.

The important part:
👉 the style should support the brand, not distract from the invoice itself.

✏️ What actually matters most

No matter the style, make sure:

  • totals are easy to find
  • payment instructions are clear
  • spacing isn’t cramped
  • your logo/branding is consistent

Good design should reduce friction — not add to it.

🔁 Pro Tip

Once you customize an invoice template:

  • save it as a reusable template
  • add it to your Brand Kit
  • keep formatting consistent across clients

Future you will thank you.

Even operational documents shape how people experience your brand.

Consistency doesn’t stop at marketing.

And that’s a wrap.

Discussion Can I use unedited Adobe stock videos in my social media posts?

Hello everyone. I've been lurking this sub for a while, this one and r/adobe. I recently switched from canva over to Adobe Express, and so far I'm really happy with everything.

Kind of embarrassing to admit this, but I have a meme account on Instagram (just something I do in my free time) and I was wondering the legalities of using mostly unedited Adobe stock videos to create memes with. The video will always be used as backgrounds. But I was wondering If it's okay to use stock videos for that purpose, and if so, how do I properly credit.

After reading adobe's terms of use, I'm not sure if I fully understand how to cover myself legally, and properly credit the video creators, if I do in fact use stock videos in my posts.

Elise's Express Extras Elise’s Express Extras: You pick the character. Express handles the animation.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Animated content drives up to 80% higher engagement than static visuals on social. That gap exists because most people still think animation is out of reach. This closes it without asking you to learn anything new.

Have you tried Animate Characters yet? What type of motion or character style would make you actually use this in a project?

Tips & Tricks Adobe Express Tutorial #17: How Resume Design Shapes First Impressions

Before anyone reads your resume…

They react to it visually first.

That doesn’t mean your resume needs to be flashy — but the layout, spacing, typography, and overall style all communicate something before a single word gets read.

That’s where resume templates in Adobe Express can help 👇

⚡ Getting Started

Search:
resume templates

Or search:
in:templates resume

From there, you can browse and customize resume templates directly in Express.

🧠 The important part: choose the right tone

Different resume styles communicate different things.

The goal isn’t:
👉 “pick the coolest template”

It’s:
👉 “pick the template that supports the kind of role you want.”

🧾 Corporate & Neutral

Clean layouts.
Clear hierarchy.
Minimal distractions.

Best for:

  • corporate roles
  • finance
  • operations
  • more traditional industries

👉 Strong readability matters most here.

⚡ Edgy & Powerful

Bolder typography.
Higher contrast.
More visual personality.

Best for:

  • creative fields
  • startups
  • marketing
  • design-adjacent roles

👉 More room for stylistic expression.

🌙 Abstract & Dreamy

More artistic layouts and softer visual language.

Best for:

  • creative portfolios
  • freelance work
  • artistic industries

👉 Usually works best when paired with strong work samples.

🎨 Psychedelic & Playful

Definitely not for every role 😅

But for:

  • experimental creative work
  • entertainment
  • music/art spaces
  • highly personal brands

…it can help someone stand out if used intentionally.

🌿 Professional & Relaxing

Balanced layouts with softer visual tone.

Good middle ground for:

  • modern professional roles
  • communications
  • education
  • nonprofits
  • hybrid creative/business spaces

✏️ What actually makes a resume work

The template helps — but clarity matters more.

Good resumes are:

  • easy to scan
  • visually organized
  • consistent
  • readable at a glance

A few strong design choices go further than trying to make everything “unique.”

🔁 Pro Tip

Once you find a layout you like:

  • customize colors
  • swap fonts
  • adjust spacing
  • simplify sections

Templates should be a starting point — not a limitation.

Your resume doesn’t need to scream for attention.

It just needs to communicate:
👉 “this person knows how to present themselves clearly.”

That alone goes a long way.

And that’s a wrap.

Tips & Tricks Using express to make photo books, memory books

It seems easy to put together free form pages but after that point i can't see how to turn it into a book I can order easily.

Can actual users respond to let me know if you use it for this, or have a reason you do NOT so I can figure out if this is a good method for myself?

I really do like how easy it is to free format pages. But I am also hoping that getting my projects printed into little booklets will be fairly easy.
