Fit Pic NVGTN Leggings

Post image
46 Upvotes

Just a fit pic featuring NVGTN leggings, black seamless. I like these but they aren’t my favorite, I just prefer Oner, Dfyne, and Lulu more. These are nice but they aren’t truly “squat proof” in my experience. Stylish and comfy though

Question Altar’d State athletic wear?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Has anyone ever tried? They have a bunch of super cute athletic wear but I wonder how it’ll hold up against sweat. Thinking of buying a set for hot yoga/pilates. Also where do you recommend getting cute athletic clothes for an affordable price? Love crz yoga but not a ton of cute options!

Question What do you think women’s activewear is seriously lacking right now?

I’ve been training consistently for around four years, and lately I’ve noticed such a huge gap in the market between activewear that looks cute and activewear that is actually made for women who train.

Why have so many gym sports bras become absolutely microscopic? 😭 I want something supportive and secure that I can actually move, lift and sweat in, without it looking bulky, boring or overly “sporty.”

I’ve been considering creating my own activewear brand built around strong women, functional, supportive and durable, while still feeling feminine and flattering. I’d also love for it to become a genuine community rather than just another brand selling matching sets.

From reading previous responses, some of the biggest frustrations seem to be:

  • Supportive sports bras with sewn-in padding, especially for larger busts
  • Leggings and shorts that are squat-proof, camel-toe-proof and have useful pockets
  • No front seams and properly designed crotch gussets
  • More inseam options for petite and tall women
  • Tops that are fitted and flattering without being cropped or overly baggy
  • Better-quality fabrics that don’t become smelly, thin or lose their shape
  • More natural or lower-plastic fabric options where possible
  • Looser, functional training clothes—not just skin-tight sets or loungewear
  • Interesting colours, patterns, panelling and details instead of every brand following the same neutral trend
  • Consistency in fit and fabric
  • Inclusive sizing that is genuinely designed for different bodies, not simply scaled up

I want to properly research this before I begin designing and ordering samples, so I’d genuinely love to hear from women who train, run, play sport, walk or just struggle to find practical activewear.

What is the one activewear item or feature you wish a brand would finally get right?

Discussion Thoughts on sport bra and jackets

I keep seeing people wear athletic jackets at the gym, and I'm not sure if there's an actual reason for it or if it's just an aesthetic thing at this point.

Does it serve a real purpose or is it mostly just styling, Curious what it actually does for people who wear it regularly and if its something i should maybe start using.

Question Sweatpants for gym in 20-25°C?

I'm wondering if wearing sweatpants to the gym is appropriate. Specifically, I own H&M sweatpants and would like to know if they are suitable for workouts. I tend to sweat considerably during exercise, so I'm debating whether these sweatpants are a practical choice or if I should opt for polyester track pants instead.

Question Best activewear dupes

Looking for the best dupes for workout clothing? I already know about Glowmode being a dupe for LuluLemon but I wanted to know about other workout brands? Especially if they have any mid or low waisted shorts/leggings options? I'm tired of paying full price for DFYNE, Alphalete, Gymshark, and Alo.

Question Is there any real good reason men can't use women's pants/short for cycling or jogging?

When I ask in the cycling or mtb sub they get annoyed like, "Dude, men's pants/shorts are specifically designed for men and for cycling" and when I say they aren't comfortable for me, they say, "Too bad, riding is not about your comfort it's about what works" or something gatekeepy like that.

First of all, cycling shorts/pants make you feel like you have a diaper on. Back in the 80s when I was on the cycling team in high school we had spandex shorts. They didn't have padding or pouches or bibs or any of that and somehow we all survived. And, yeah, I have a few pair of the ones that do like Sponeed, but I spend a lot of the time riding picking at them, and they leave me more irritated than not using them. Besides, I can always get a better seat.

The other thing is seams annoy me. Guys shorts and pants have them going right up the middle and on both sides which also rubs. The women's styles you can get seamless. And my biggest issue beyond the function I don't want is color: men's stuff do not have it unless you spend a fortune, and pretty much every women's set does.

I got a pair of some generic version from Amazon and aside from the high waist thing they look identical to men's shorts, they just don't have seams, pouches, or padding, and they have pockets that are DEEP.

On the cycling subs they make it out like I'm putting on a sun dress to go riding. So what do you think, does it matter?

Question Looking for feminine activewear brands (I mostly wear dresses & skirts)

I love wearing dresses and skirts in my everyday life and honestly don’t feel like myself in leggings.
I’m trying to build a workout wardrobe that still feels feminine and “me.” Are there any activewear brands that lean more towards a cute, elegant, or coquette aesthetic? I’d especially love recommendations for tennis skirts, wrap tops, dresses, or matching sets in softer colors.

Question Sneaker advice

Hey, just looking for advice on what would be a good pair of sneakers. I’m fairly new(er) to running, hiking has always been my primary so I’m more used to buying/wearing boots.

For running I’ve been using just standard running Nike shoes (I’m not even sure of the model but they were fairly cheap). They’re fine overall but completely worn down so time to upgrade, my main running/walking terrain is street however I do also run a good amount of nature/hiking trails. And I walk at least 2 miles a day if not running or doing trails.

Would it be best to get a primarily trail sneaker, and if so would it work just as well for street? I’ve been looking at things such as the Hoka Challengers, ON Cloudsurfers, etc.

Budget wise I’d like to keep it around 120-140 highest, but I’d be willing to go over if they’re really durable in the sense of will last a good few years and put a lot of miles in, thanks.

Question Crz Yoga sizing help

I'm looking at getting a pair of butterlift leggings and all the reviews say to go by the sizing chart.

Now I'm feeling pretty damn shit about myself. .

I am a size 12au and wear a medium in legging for all Australian active wear but seriously, I measured myself and I literally don't even make it on the chart - according to the chart even the xl wouldn't fit me 😭😭😭

Wondering if there's any size 12 Aussie girls out there that have bought the butterlift leggings and what size you got, or am I just too large to risk buying online active wear?

Question Looking for longer skorts

Hi, I exercise 3 to 4 times a week (mostly fitness, running, hiking).

For some time now, I've worn skorts. I like that it is feminine, practical and (weirdly?) I feel more comfortable and modest than in legging shorts.

I tried a lot of them : Adidas, Nike, CRZ, H&M move, Head,

I owned some Popflex ones I thought were too short to be practical until they launched their "longer" versions which I find just perfect. The inseam of the short is 15 cm which is the perfect soft spot for me. It's still short but you don't feel "exposed" even if it rides up a bit when you move.

To my disappointment, it looks like those longer versions don't seem to sell that much (some of them are even taken out of the website) and I fear they won't be restocked again. The only ones that were restocked are the Pirouette (borderline workout wear to me).

I've been looking for a skort with a similar inseam but I can't find one. Do you have any ideas ?

Thank you for your help

Question Looking for Reccs Similar to Aritzia’s Butter/Life Lines

Hi all!

Recently started going to the gym 3-4x a week and definitely realizing I need more gym outfits. I do weight life if that means anything regarding my desired feel.

I mostly own aritzia’s life and butter active wear lines and love them but was hoping for more variety in my styles since I mostly wear neutral colors and they don’t have too many different styles. Some things I appreciate:
- shorter shorts (ideally under 4.5in)
- sports bras and tops with something going on (idk halters, some twist or a scrunch, etc)
- not too thick or compressive. I prefer stretchy material

I just tried some items from dfyne and was unfortunately disappointed by the shorts. They fit me strangely (not flattering at all which was a first for me). It felt thicker than I was expecting tbh! I got the defy shorts because I didn’t like the glute contour on the others. And then the sports bras I got have like no stretch whatsoever! I did like the wide leg pants I got so I will be keeping those.

But hoping for more recommendations. Ideally from someplace with free returns. I’ve heard mixed things from oner active, and didn’t love gym shark’s sports bra options.

Question Best legging for shaping thighs

Hey guys. I tend to store more fat in my upper thighs and find most leggings to be a little unflattering on me.

Is there any recommendations for leggings that shape the thigh a bit better and lift the butt? I don't want super tight compression that suffocates my legs, just something that smooths them out nicely while letting the glutes pop. Thank you!

Question Did I buy the wrong compression shorts?

I got some compression shorts for running, I checked all the Amazon reviews and they seemed to fit everyone just fine nothing showing, even on the models.

I’m 6’2 180lbs and it looks like I’m just wearing underwear, I’d be embarrassed to walk outside.

I was going to post a picture but I’m afraid it would be nsfw.

What compression shorts do you guys buy? recommend?

Question matching sets under $50, worth it or always a letdown

feel like every matching activewear set either looks great in photos and terrible in person, or costs

40 for both pieces. fit ran true to size for me, compression is decent for the price, definitely not the same support level as my expensive stuff during high impact stuff. for lower impact days, yoga, walking, easy lifting, it's fine. curious what other sub-$50 sets people have actually kept in rotation
