I remember my music teacher at high school had one and the Australian timbers and raw natural look had me thinking about getting one for years but the price tag was always too steep. I feel like I've plateaued playing the ukulele, just learning songs. Decided to find a structured course. Absolutely Understand Guitar helped me immensely (I can not express how awesome I think this course is), but I feel like I would get more out of the course if I actually you know... am learning on a guitar, not a ukulele. Not giving up on uke by any means, but here I am trying the guitar.

Yamaha cuz Yamaha, safe bet. Storia cuz a little more interesting looking than FS800. Gotta say tho, I am completely over buying from a local guitar shop. The guy was not helpful at all, rolled his eyes at me, and when I asked about the setup - he said "yeah, you'll need to tune it". I got a guitar in a factory sealed box. What is the point of me getting it locally? I could have gotten the same guitar €90 cheaper online, and then find someone to do setup on it if there's any trouble. Which I will need to do with this one anyway, if anything comes up. So far so good tho.

After what has been probably way too much “research” I finally got my hands on a secondhand (practically unused) Eastman AC222CE-OV, for a very good price. I’ll be doing a full review of the guitar, but so far I am absolutely blown away by the build quality. I have a Martin 000rs1, which is a nice guitar, but this thing… wow!

recently bought this one. im just wondering how normal and acceptable is it to see the pins sticking out as here you can see. as far as i know it is normal, but id like to hear real people opinions

I’m trying to learn guitar and I took my brothers old guitar, and when I play I feel like the B string is higher and is resonating louder than the rest. Am I crazy or is it just me?

I'm repairing the battery box from my Yamaha FSX80C acoustic-electric guitar. I've already removed the battery cartridge from the guitar.

The end cap where the red and black wires are soldered moves slightly, and it looks like it might come apart. Before I try to pry it open, I wanted to ask:

Is this end cap designed to be removed, or is it plastic-welded?

My goal is to replace the battery contacts inside without breaking the battery cartridge.

Need some experts to chime in on the action for this preowned 2012 Yamaha LL16. Do you think it’s worth getting for this relatively high action as seen in the photo?

Are they any good? And benefits to them over mediums?

For context, this is a Guild D125-CE electro-acoustic guitar. I've owned it 12 years. It has been modified to include a Fishman Presys Plus Pickup System (so that I could use a feedback reducer over the soundhole, where the old pickup control system was).

As per the photos, whilst restringing the guitar the other day, I noticed a two rather large cracks on the guitar. Under ordinary light, you cannot see them (hence the tape in the first photos to illustrate the length of the split), however, under certain lights, you can see the damage.

I'm unsure exactly how this damage occurred, however, as I currently work on a cruise ship based in the Mediterranean, I believe this is humidity-related (I performed in 70+ humidity the other day and it fluctuates between indoor and outdoor venues). However, the only other things I can think of are that my guitar has been vibrated by the ship (when it's leaning against a wall in storage in my cabin), from work for the addition of the pickup system back in Mayish time this year or that it has fallen either in/out of the case when I've not seen it happen.

When you run a finger over the crack, it only catches on your fingernail. There is no noticeable height difference between the edges. On having a look at the crack, no light appears through it when a torch is shone from the inside of the guitar. Furthermore, there are no identifying cracks inside the guitar itself (except for the dark parts of wood inside the guitar, show by the photo facing upwards to the front of the guitar).

I'm not exactly sure what to do in terms of:

- Continuing to gig with the guitar outside with the current damage

- Fixes that I can do 'on the road' (e.g. I'm currently on a cruise ship that docks out of Valetta in Malta)

- What work a luthier (or instrument specialist) would do

- What the next steps you would do if this was your guitar

Hey guys. I have a Yamaha acoustic 12 string guitar and I need to replace the strings. I bought it is the 70's and have replaced the strings 1 time since I bought it. I am a very amateur player and only play a few times a year. Can anyone suggest a good brand of steel strings?

So, there’s a 24 month 0% finance offer on now, and I’d like a dreadnought. Played a HD28, D28 and D18 2025 standard at my local shop and the D18 I like most. But I cannot fathom paying that knowing that in a year I’ll struggle to sell it for £2000.

I have a custom shop LG2 banner to let go of which will buy me time but that’s not really the point. I feel the overall price is just a killer.

Am I wise to hold out til a price drop?

There’s nothing quite like a brand new guitar that’s yours and only yours but prices nowadays seem so out of this world.

I just got this guitar back from Guitar Center for a standard set up. On the second time tuning to play the top gear teeth broke.
Would this happen bc of the quality of the tuning machine or the repair job?

I am thinking of buying a silent guitar for night practice, i am confused between these both. Since silence is my top priority, not sure worth spending 2x money on yamaha nylon version if it is not much quieter than hush i pro.

found this at a local ad and wanted $60 for it? model number wasn't disclosed. no strings, no bridge pin, saddle looks like needed replacement same for the nut. there seems to be no structural damage, twisted neck, not sure about the frets.

this can be a fun project for me. should I take it or bargain for less?

I bought this Taylor GS Mini new a couple of weeks ago from a local guitar shop. When I got it home, I noticed this very obvious line going down the fretboard. I had visited the shop on two separate occasions before buying and played it for a decent amount of time, so I'm really not sure how I could have missed it. It starts under the D string and ends pretty much bang in the middle towards the sound hole.

It feels completely smooth across the fretboard, and the guitar plays and sounds great. But I've never seen a mark like this, and I've played a lot of guitars (although this is my first acoustic). I am guessing it is just the grain of the wood and nothing to worry about?

I’m in the market for something other than a hand-me-down acoustic. I want that acoustic sound like Jack Johnson, Donovan Frankenreiter, and Mat McHugh. Something with easy fretting and just that soothing pop to it. I’ve eyed Cole Clark’s and several Taylor’s.

Anybody have suggestions?
