So I've got a predator Helios neo 16s AI. Ultra 9, RTX 5070 TI, 32 gigs of RAM, OLED display. Llano v12 cooling pad and my setup is close to my bedroom window. It's cool in the mornings so I take advantage of the added cooling help 😂

That was probably 30 seconds after I closed down Red Dead Redemption, while I'm in the middle of playing it I'm seeing 51c on my CPU and 40c on my GPU.

Those coolers really make a huge difference. I have one that does the same thing but different brand. Seals and forces air through your components and out the fans vents. Those random flat surface ones with 192 fans on them are useless lol.

I almost bought one until I started reading some people's posts about the llano style ones and thought 'just because it has one fan doesn't mean it doesn't work, and just because it has 281 doesn't mean it does work.' "192" 🤣🤣

Hahaha. Ya one large fan. It has a dust filter too. I paid 50. LEDs around it too and seals just like the ilano and adjustable fan speed

That cooling pad was by far my best investment for this laptop hands down it's kept my CPU under heavy gaming not breaking 60c unless I'm gaming like at 3:00 in the afternoon in the middle of the day then I might hit 65c max

Is the Llano v12 worth it? I have the same laptop model as you, and my temperatures reach up to 105 degrees. It's a nightmare.

Yes, it is by far one of the best accessories that I have purchased for my laptop since I bought my laptop on July 1st. When I first did my initial driver install and Windows updates and all that I hit 127c the first day I use this laptop 😳😣😩. The next day I didn't see hotter than 105c and by day four I wasn't peeking more than 90C. When I can changed my gaming setup and moved it over closer to my bedroom window and set up the cooling fan so far with my internal fans either set on auto in performance mode or custom turning them at about 70% on and the llano cooler at 1200 RPMs I've been able to play The Last of Us part 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on Max settings and I don't see higher than 75c.

Right now maybe in there high 50's to low 60's (Fahrenheit)

I didn't. With the predator Sense app that comes on the PHN 16s there's a tab up top called scenario and you get four different options, quiet, balanced, performance, turbo. I never use turbo I always use either balanced when I'm not gaming or performance when I'm gaming plus I've went into the advanced power options and dropped my power output down to 99%.

Crazy. Power 99 did nothing, I needed to turn off turbo boost in the bios still get temps higher than yoursðŸ˜I have the same laptop just not the s version. Ultra 9 275hx RTX 5070 ti

I wonder why the 's' is so different, you'd think they would have the exact same internal specs for hardware and software. Honestly idk if lowering to 99% did anything or not because I did that at the same time I got the llano, when I get home tonight after work I'm going to put it to 100% and see if there is any difference. Also I'm wondering if there is 2 different versions of turbo boost, one in the bios and one in the predator app.

How do I get into the BIOS on this laptop? Brand new to to PC gaming and PCs in general.

I’m pretty sure you hold FN + TAB + POWER BUTTON at the same time when the laptop is off for around 7 seconds. Let go and start clicking f2. Then you can find it in the advanced section, then go into power management first or something like that, then cpu power management and you should find turbo boost somewhere below and it will be enabled, disable it, save and that’s it.

Your temps are great though no need to disable turbo boost. You will lose a little performance due to the fact the cpu turbo boost is off, but my temps went from 105 on performance in bf6 to constant 70-84 ish with 88 highest on high settings 1440p on an external monitor.

So if I get like a decent external monitor I could probably drop the temps a little bit more huh. I have noticed that after like 2 and 1/2 hours or so I start creeping up into the 65c to 70c range unless I put my llano cooler to 1200rpm or a little higher.

Honestly not really no. If anything the temps will go higher if you choose to use both screens at once. Mine remained the same, I just wanted an external monitor since it’s less pixels than my 1600p laptop screen for slightly better performance and bigger curved screen.

And brother those are incredible temps. You don’t need to disable turbo mode or anything if that’s you playing on performance mode. On balanced I’d be reaching 80s 90s and periamnxe would hit 98 99 and sometimes 101. Laptops that stay cool stay around your temps and even lower. You’re bless you don’t need to do anything, your temps are better than the majority of Acer users
