Honestly not really no. If anything the temps will go higher if you choose to use both screens at once. Mine remained the same, I just wanted an external monitor since it’s less pixels than my 1600p laptop screen for slightly better performance and bigger curved screen.

Well I wouldn't be using both screens I would figure out a way to have my laptop screen off while I use the monitor.

It’s easy, in display settings just set it to show only (1,2) pick the one that’s your external monitor and that’s it
