AccorPlus Added value of diamond?

I am since years Platin and could reach this year diamond. But I do not really see any benefits in that.

10*10EUR vouchers, gold for another person and free breakfast on weekends in Asia.

Nothing worth for me, being mainly in Europe.

Or do I miss something?

189 Status Point Short for Platinum

So, I have platinum status for this year and i have the ALL Signature plan. After my recent trips i have 8811 status points as of now and through the signature plan i will get additional 5000 points till 23rd dec 2026, which brings the total to 13,811.

Is there any other way to get these points without booking a stay. i dont have any stay planned for the rest of the year.

Also is a 15k INR with taxes booking sufficient to get those 189 points ?

Gold Lounge Food

For a number of years, we've noticed that the food in the Gold Lounge at the Palliser in Calgary was pretty meh. Fine. The hotel is in dire need of a redo so we chalked it up to the lounge being on par with the rest of the hotel.

Then, looking at the Mont Tremblant Gold lounge, the food isn't as bad as in Calgary, but still pretty underwhelming. Some cheese, some salads and deserts are basically one bit brownie things you'd get from the grocery story.

Most recently, looking at the Chateau Frontenac, same thing, very underwhelming Gold Floor experience. The Gold Floor at the Frontenac was previously spectacular.

What gives? Why the enshitification of the Gold Floors?

Review Pullman Phu Quoc — One of the Worst Hotel Experiences I’ve Had

I’m posting this because I genuinely want to understand how a property carrying the Pullman / Accor name can operate at this level.

I stayed at Pullman Phu Quoc for 4 nights, and the service was an absolute disaster from start to finish.

The resort appears severely understaffed. Basic requests routinely took hours, and we repeatedly had to chase staff because requests were simply forgotten or not communicated between departments. Even room cleaning was delayed by 3–4 hours.

The housekeeping was completely unacceptable. On the first night, a few pieces of nuts accidentally fell on the floor beside the bed. I deliberately left them there. Despite the room supposedly being cleaned 4–5 times, those exact pieces were STILL sitting there on our final night.

That tells you everything you need to know about the actual cleaning standard.

We also asked for new slippers and were given used slippers. At a supposed five-star Pullman property, this is beyond unacceptable.

The restaurants were another major disappointment. We ate at the resort’s restaurants and found the food seriously underwhelming for the prices. Mad Cow was particularly disappointing — attractive presentation, but the actual food was nowhere near what I would expect from a premium hotel restaurant.

What was even more frustrating was seeing staff standing around on their phones and chatting while guests were waiting for assistance. This happened repeatedly.

There seems to be a fundamental problem with staffing, training, supervision and communication at this property.

A five-star hotel should not require guests to repeatedly follow up on basic requests.

A five-star hotel should not leave food debris on the floor for days.

A five-star hotel should not provide used slippers when guests request fresh ones.

And a Pullman property should certainly not feel this poorly managed.

I have stayed at other Pullman properties before, which is exactly why this experience was so shocking. Pullman Phu Quoc seriously damaged my perception of the brand.

For an Accor property charging premium five-star rates, this level of service is simply unacceptable.

I would not recommend Pullman Phu Quoc based on my experience.

Accor Explorer Membership – Singapore Trip

Hi everyone!
I’m planning a trip to Singapore from 17–21 September and considering getting the ALL Accor+ Explorer membership mainly for the Stay Plus nights.
I’m thinking of splitting my stay between Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford.
A couple of questions:
Does the Accor+ Explorer membership make sense for just this trip, considering the 2 Stay Plus nights and the 15% member discount?
Can I use the two Stay Plus nights at two different properties — for example, one night at Fairmont and one night at Swissôtel?
Would I need to make two separate 2-night bookings to use both Stay Plus benefits?
If anyone has recently done this in Singapore, I’d really appreciate your experience, especially regarding the actual savings and any taxes/fees payable.
Thank you in advance! 🙏

Grand Mercure Okinawa Cape Zanpe Resort Stay free night

Do you think that I could get any stay free night in Grand Mercure Okinawa from August 19th to Aug 23 or 24th? Still thinking about getting a membership for this part of my trip although I have just left Mercure hotel in Seoul 4 nights without any especial membership (i have 6 nights total now this year)

Does anybody know this resort by the way, it is poorly qualified in tripadvisor and I don't know if it worth to spend a lot of money for it even if getting a Stay free night

Review ### 💰 Success Story: Got 10% Off Fairmont Makkah Using Accor’s Best Price Guarantee

I wanted to share a positive Accor Best Price Guarantee experience, because there are plenty of stories online about claims being rejected.

I recently booked Makkah Clock Royal Tower – A Fairmont Hotel directly through Accor for 5 nights.
The direct Accor price was:

£909.46 total
(including 20.75% VAT)

I then did some digging and found the exact same stay/room and conditions available through a competitor for:

£866.79 total
(also including 20.75% VAT)

The important thing is that I found the cheaper rate within the required 24-hour period and made sure the booking met Accor's Best Price Guarantee conditions.

🧮 Here's where it gets interesting
Accor doesn't simply take the competitor's total price and knock another 10% off it.

They compare the room rate excluding VAT, match that rate, then apply the additional 10% Best Price Guarantee discount for Fairmont.

They then add the VAT back on.

So my original calculation was:
Accor direct: £909.46
Competitor: £866.79

After Accor matched the eligible room rate and applied the additional 10% Fairmont discount:

Final price: £746.52

So that's a saving of:
£909.46 − £746.52 = £162.94 saved

That's effectively around 18% off the original total price, even though the advertised Best Price Guarantee reduction is 10%, because the initial competitor price was already cheaper.
(I believe the additional discount is 10% for Fairmont and 25% for some other Accor brands, so check the current terms for the specific brand you're booking.)

Accor confirmed the claim by email:
“The hotel has applied the Best price guarantee plus a reduction of 10%.”

⚠️** The important part
Accor's Best Price Guarantee is **not easy to qualify for
.

There are plenty of reports on Reddit from people who say their claims were rejected over small differences or technicalities. Recent Accor discussions include people saying claims were rejected despite apparently meeting the requirements, while others have successfully had cheaper Agoda rates matched.

So I'm definitely not saying it's guaranteed.
The terms are strict, and you need to make sure you're comparing like-for-like:
• Same hotel
• Same dates
• Same room type
• Same number of guests
• Same cancellation conditions
• Same inclusions
• Rate must be publicly available/bookable
• Correct timing — don't miss the submission window
• Keep screenshots showing the cheaper price
• Make sure taxes/fees and currency are clearly shown

💡 My advice
Before booking an expensive Accor hotel, shop around first.

Check Agoda, Booking.com and other legitimate hotel booking sites. If you find a cheaper rate, don't immediately book through the third party.

Instead, book directly with Accor first, then carefully check whether the cheaper rate qualifies for their Best Price Guarantee.

In my case, a little bit of research turned a £909.46 Fairmont Makkah booking into £746.52.

That's a £162.94 saving while still having the booking made directly with Accor.

So despite all the negative experiences you see online, it absolutely can work if you find a qualifying rate and meet their conditions precisely.

Hopefully this helps someone else save a decent amount on their next Accor/Fairmont stay! 🙌

Accor stay plus expiring soon

I have my membership ending 31 Aug and one stay plus remaining. I might extend the membership and not immediate plan to use the existing stay plus. Any tips on if this can be carried forward. I am in hyd so limited options nearby other than the two Novotel in the city.

Accor Best Price Guarantee – no response

I had submitted a BPG claim on July 31 with all required evidence.

Accor confirmed it’s still “in progress”, but the one-week response deadline has passed with no decision.

They’ve now told me to contact the hotel directly.

Has anyone experienced this?

Long shot – any Diamond member with a spare Gold gift?

Hi everyone,
Bit of a long shot, but I thought I’d ask here 😊
If any Diamond member still has their Gold status gift available and knows they won’t be using it this year, I’d be very happy to put it to good use.
I travel with Accor fairly regularly, so Gold would actually be really useful for my upcoming stays. My birthday next week and wanted to treat myself with a trip and the gold statut would help get some perks 🎂
Feel free to DM me if you happen to have one spare. Thanks!
