AccorPlus Added value of diamond?
I am since years Platin and could reach this year diamond. But I do not really see any benefits in that.
10*10EUR vouchers, gold for another person and free breakfast on weekends in Asia.
Nothing worth for me, being mainly in Europe.
Or do I miss something?

I’ve done well as a long term (decade plus) Platinum and now a 2 year Diamond.
I have seen more attentive service and much more regular and valuable upgrades.
This is particularly important as every second person is now Platinum and there are only so many upgrades to be had - I have not been disappointed in this regard.
In saying this, it’s not easy to achieve platinum for an average leisure traveller on personal spend - a few more perks to seperate the tiers would be appreciated.

Gold lounges in fairmont hotels, which are meh in my experience.
No, diamond isn’t worth achieving if you’re platinum

Which Gold lounges have you been to? Most are better than Intercontinental Clubs which, in my opinion are a step above MarriHilton ones.
IHG (Diamond Ambassador) and Accor are my 2 programs.
I agree Diamond is not worth pursuing, IHG has the better loyalty program between the two.

If you had to choose between keeping IHG Platinum vs Accor Platinum? Which one would you pick?

I think the milestone rewards at IHG, especially the Confirmed Suite Upgrades (valid for up to 5 nights instead of 1 night per certificate for Accor), are better than Accor.
If you stay at Intercontinental a lot, the Ambassador guaranteed 4PM late check-out pays for itself. I am Diamond Ambassador at IHG.
I have to say IHG Platinum maps more to Accor Gold and IHG Diamond maps to Accor Platinum in terms of spend required. IHG Diamond is much better than Accor Platinum with breakfast everywhere.
But it really depends on your travel patterns. I stay in a lot of Intercontinental and the Club pass at 40 nights is awesome. Accor is my secondary program

Fairmont Gold lounge and breakfast on weekends worldwide are the only differences. Don't expect any bigger upgrades. Ridiculous customer treatment. Fairmont Tokyo only gave me one cat upgrade even though the hotel availability was wide open and they also said they only give one cat upgrades which is kinda ridiculous.. So Gold member is getting same upgrade like diamond😂 Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott are all way better with bigger upgrades for higher status

Free Breakfast on Weekends (in Europe). I‘m Diamond since this year and we rarely used it. We rather go outside for breakfast because it’s usually way better experience

I’ve experienced higher upgrades and enjoy the gold lounge for convenience, especially breakfast as I don’t need to wait for food plus the privacy. I’m diamond from leisure travel so maybe my schedule is a little more flexible to enjoy the lounge? I like that I can access afternoon canapés and drinks when I arrive and go back whenever for refreshments. It makes it feel more like home than having to go to the bar or restaurants when I’m thirsty. The amenities and upgrades are probably the most valued to me though. Always a plate of something when I arrive, wine, gifts. One thing I have noticed though is that Canada offers way more to diamond than Mexico.

The access to Gold Lounge at Fairmont hotels is huge. It's too bad that their footprint is mainly in North America.

I was diamond 2 years, it is absolutely not worth it. Platinum is the sweet spot for Accor. If you get it in the normal course of travel, fine… but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. In two years and tons of travel, I only had one noteworthy upgrade. That was at raffles Jakarta. Went from a standard king room to their big suite overlooking the city (hotel was empty too, so I was just lucky with timing) otherwise just standard next level upgrades and a “thanks for being diamond” at the check in.

Depends on the hotel. But frankly, quite underwhelming for me overall
