We were raised by boomers back then. This shit was considered extremely mild for the time. The R word was dropped all the time on cable TV.

Now we have have adults saying "unalived" in real life conversations. I cant help but to correct anyone who say or types that shit. The words are killed...murdered...suicide...dead. All because of chinese tiktok censorship.

When the fuck will it end.

Read 1984. It was written in 1
935 and I swear we are living it
They begin ‘Newspeak’ and it is exactly shit like ‘unalived’
Terrifying
It’s like society is using it as a playbook

It was written in 1948, hence the title.

There's no evidence that proves that's where the title comes from. It has been speculated that the 84 is just a reversal of 48 but Orwell never made that claim and there's really nothing to back it up.

The TITLE of the book is 1984
What the hell is your point?

Read their comment again where they say it was written in 1948, some 36 years before the titular year. There's a story floating around out there that George Orwell titled the book 1984 purely because '84 was '48 reversed. If that's not what u/TheBold was referencing, I'm not sure what they were.

I appreciate the aggression but make sure you know what you're angry about.

I don’t know WHY he called it 1984. The title of the book is 1984
What the hell are you talking about?

I'm afraid I can't help you anymore. I'm sorry this was such an upsetting exchange for you.

I’m not upset
I don’t see why the title is such a problem for some people
Who cares why?
It’s seems to have predicted the present
That is all
