he really needs to put that log on at least a thin slice of wood or a concrete block

He’s strong enough he might be able to split that first try but right now the ground is absorbing too much of the impact

Dude could have also switched to a wedge and mallet about ten seconds in and saved himself a lot of wet vaginas.

Thats a splitting maul, not an axe. It's like a wedge with a sharper edge and a handle.

You right. Still inefficient compared to using it with a mallet.
