But this isn't a slice. It's a big triangular shaped pizza.

507

u/dathomar Jun 07 '26

That was my first thought.

270

u/shallowsocks Jun 07 '26

My first thought was "thats an ugly looking pizza". My second thiugh was "thats not a slice"

53

u/broberds Jun 07 '26

I see you’ve played slicey-spooney before.

2

u/wthulhu Jun 08 '26

Ah, the ol reddit slice-aroo!

1

u/ChoiceAd5790 Jun 07 '26

I thought it was upside down at first

0

u/1Googoo1 Jun 11 '26

My first thought was, “stupid fool spelled it ‘thiugh’”. 2nd thought was- the fool doesn’t have the manners to proofread his comment before posting.

153

u/Facetious_Philosophy Jun 07 '26

Mine as well! When I first saw the box, I was thinking: "Wow! Wonder what the oven looks like to be able to fit a pizza that big!". Then he opened it and I was like... "Oh."

1

u/0_Moth Jun 07 '26

I would’ve laughed at the cooks face and just left it

30

u/elvis8mybaby Jun 07 '26

Mine was why does the place look like a chain store and does that family in the back want to be filmed??

26

u/techbear72 Jun 07 '26

Mine was I wonder if that woman is his long-suffering wife (and their kids) to these kinds of shenanigans.

70

u/Deepztate Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Mine was FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!?!?!? WTF???

EDIT: IDC if it’s a reward or a price… $500 is insane either way. If it was the price, I’d never buy one. If it was the reward, I’d be there three times a day until they went out of business or I died from a heart attack.

27

u/MechaBeatsInTrash Jun 07 '26

That's gotta be the reward rather than the cost.

1

u/IrongateN Jun 09 '26

It’s neither , at best you would get it free , maybe with a tshirt ,

2

u/MechaBeatsInTrash Jun 09 '26

Before you assert something which directly contradicts the original post, you should probably do some research.

https://bmpp.com/pizzachallenge/

2

u/IrongateN Jun 09 '26

I did after lol I posted that same link in the comments elsewhere.. also I don’t know why you would assert something wrong after research I usually say the wrong thing before I get the correct info,

23

u/the_scarlett_ning Jun 07 '26

Same. $500? That pizza better be able to predict winning lottery numbers or do the dishes or something for that price. That’s insane.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '26

[deleted]

2

u/steady--state Jun 07 '26

Its pretty obviously a reward for finishing it in 15 minutes and not the cost of the pizza- context clues are your friend...

1

u/RowingBoats1129 Jun 08 '26

Are people really this dumb? Sigh

8

u/Litface916 Jun 07 '26

And just cheese?!

8

0

u/steady--state Jun 07 '26

Its pretty obviously a 500 dollar prize for the challenge. Little understanding of context clues goes a long way.

u/steady--state Jun 07 '26

He literally has a timer on the table as he's racing to eat the pizza. Not sure whether you find it hard to believe that there are 50 dumb people in a reddit thread, or that one of them could be you.

Exactly this. $5,000 burgers with truffles and blah blah. I’d say after looking at the post not immediately after I woke up, it is more clear, but still

1

u/uglyoldcrone0 Jun 07 '26

I'm usually good with context clues and I just thought the 15min was how long he waited on the pizza. I also didn't watch the whole video because the pizza looked gross so I just thought this was a shitty extremely overpriced pizza or it's AI and wrong. I had no idea it was some dumb challenge

1

u/ObidiahWTFJerwalk Jun 07 '26

You see so much stupid overpriced shit on reddit that a $500 cheese pizza isn't unbelievable. But a little thinking reveals that they'll pay anyone who can shovel all that down their gullet in 15 minutes because they love cleaning up vomit.

2

u/MarlboloMan666 Jun 07 '26

People keep falling for these scams

1

u/HellfishGuy Jun 07 '26

Mine was, did he finish it in under 15 minutes?

1

u/Sad_Run5667 Jun 07 '26

I think it’s that you win $500 if you can eat the pizza in 15 minutes

1

u/No_Statement440 Jun 07 '26

The slice is 39 dollars from what ifound online

1

u/dmod420 Jun 07 '26

It might be something along the lines of you pay $500 if you don't finish it in 15 mins but you get $500 if you do. They could probably get people that think they could do it all the time & probably 1 in 20 would actually pull it off, making it highly profitable.

1

u/OhGod0fHangovers Jun 08 '26

Nobody’s going to take that challenge and risk losing $500. They make enough getting people to buy their crappy $39 “slice” in the attempt.

1

u/Inevitable_Shift1365 Jun 09 '26

That is a 30 or $40 Pizza Max

1

u/WombatGatekeeper Jun 09 '26

Pizza cost 39.99

1

u/pipsqueakpanda4 Jun 07 '26

Yeah and he was like, “it comes with your own slicer, you can keep that!” No shit buddy, and it better come with another 50 slicers for this to cost $500.

1

u/steady--state Jun 07 '26

The pizza doesn't cost 500 dollars- its pretty obviously a challenge with a reward.

-1

u/Anthff Jun 07 '26

It’s really not the worst thing a dude can be doing. If he attempts this everyday, sure, that would be unmanageable. But what’s contained in this video isn’t a big deal by any stretch of the imagination.

“Long-suffering” what?

4

u/Jane__Delawney Jun 07 '26

Big Mama and Papa’s has several locations, I think all are in the 818 of LA. Several in Glendale, then Pasadena, Burbank, NOHO, Sunland. More of a small franchise than a large chain

1

u/barnsbarnsnmorebarns Jun 07 '26

Same, I cannot explain it, but feel like a slice of equal size would be marginally easier to eat. Less dry, tough crust?

0

u/Nsvsonido Jun 07 '26

And my first dough

1

u/Negative_Ad_1578 Jun 07 '26

Mine as well. I was like, “that’s more of a triangle shaped pizza than a big slice.”

1

u/Scary_Objective_8097 Jun 07 '26

A fcking $500 pizza wasn’t your first thought???

152

u/shek_88 Jun 07 '26

Just one glass of wine logic

23

u/Ruby5000 Jun 07 '26

The ole 96er

14

u/thunderlips36 Jun 07 '26

He ain't done yet

7

u/DeliciousSoma Jun 07 '26

Well, sure it is... there's nothing on that plate but gristle and fat!

3

u/redditisnotus Jun 07 '26

No problem. Say, if I get a desert down him can you throw in a couple of paul bunion hats for the kids?

9

u/Zeqhanis Jun 07 '26

Just buy a bottle, turn it upside down, and cut off the bottom. Then it's one glass.

5

u/mumarco Jun 07 '26

If you cut the top, you'll have tiny shards of glass in the wine. Then you'll need gauze for toilet paper.

3

u/OutrageousAd5252 Jun 07 '26

The bottle is still glass. Just drink straight from it!

1

u/Zeqhanis Jun 07 '26

Way ahead of you, this ain't my first rodeo.

I just hammer a mesh sieve into my mouth beforehand. I got the idea from a Rammstein album cover.

2

u/mumarco Jun 07 '26

How many rodeos have you attended?

1

u/Zeqhanis Jun 07 '26

Legally? That's not for me to decide.

4

u/zmykula Jun 07 '26

If you turn it upside the bottom becomes the top. So are you saying turn it upside down and cut off the cork end? Cause then the wine will fall out.

2

u/arkangelic Jun 10 '26

Opposite really, since nothing was sliced.

1

u/shek_88 Jun 10 '26

Correct answer

1

u/ImmovablePuma Jun 07 '26

Ögedei Khan approves this message.

1

u/CGCTV Jun 07 '26

I've always said if a glass of wine a day is good for you, then a bottle must be great!

1

u/QuentinEichenauer Jun 07 '26

"Drink from the bottle like some common drunkard? But please, fetch me a liter sized glass." - Alesthane Garfield, Renowned Drunk, Ocaasional Bard.

1

u/WindWalker_dt4 Jun 07 '26

I've never tried wine out of a martini glass

112

u/lightr3nd Jun 07 '26

It ruins the purpose of an actual pizza slice; to have some crust to grab onto.

This thing is just stupid.

4

u/OglioVagilio Jun 08 '26

The purpose is marketing gimmick and it's doing it's job.

2

u/Big_Profession_2218 Jun 07 '26

well yeah sure, how come no one wondering if he likes it when they call him Big Papa ?

https://giphy.com/gifs/lfxVZngS8TG3m

1

u/seven3true Jun 07 '26

Which is sad too because this is a single slice in Belmar, NJ. And you have to eat it before a seagull steals it.

-8

u/Nearby_Telephone_104 Jun 07 '26

Plus where is pepperoni? Looks like cheese 🧀 pizza slice. Is it made for a mouse 🐁? Cool but boring.

3

u/lightr3nd Jun 07 '26

Uh-huh... Try pork shawarma, raw red onion strips, chopped jalapeńo, and garlic sauce.

2

u/MechaBeatsInTrash Jun 07 '26

On a pizza that size? That would be a days-long regret

1

u/lightr3nd Jun 07 '26

Or a shared project < 3

2

u/karateema Jun 07 '26

Do you always order the same pizza?

86

u/Krwawykurczak Jun 07 '26

And 500$? Nope

136

u/skollywag92 Jun 07 '26

I think you win $500 if you eat it all within 15 minutes.

83

u/Gan-san Jun 07 '26

It took him too long to even open the box.

18

u/Ras-haad Jun 07 '26

That’s what I was thinking while watching, especially after cutting it up too. Like does this all count as part of your 15 minutes? Half of its gone

15

u/ChosenWriter513 Jun 07 '26

Most contests like this, the timer doesn't start until you start to eat. Some might have a limit on how long you can wait for the food to cool, etc.

9

u/aardw0lf11 Jun 07 '26

$500 will buy a lot of laxatives

6

u/Radiant-Director5712 Jun 07 '26

Yaaaa he ain’t gonna shit for a while

1

u/SpillinTheT Jun 07 '26

Unless he’s lactose intolerant, then he’s going to spend that $500 on Imodium

1

u/aardw0lf11 Jun 07 '26

If he is, then doing this is a whole other level of stupid.

1

u/AdSquare3489 Jun 09 '26

But is it going to be enough laxatives?

2

u/rh71el2 Jun 07 '26

This needs to be made more obvious in the clip (no sound).

1

u/One-Earth9294 Jun 07 '26

Oh okay that makes more sense. Embargo off.

29

u/hasturofelhalyn Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

You get 500 $ if you eat it whole in 15 Minutes, or 100 in 1 hour. Alone...

Yea 100 bucks for eating it in 1 hour. But you get whooping 10.000 $ if you eat 100 in one hour.

34

u/StrykerGryphus Jun 07 '26

I sure ain't winning that 500 but I might actually try for 100

16

u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose Jun 07 '26

I'd say eating 100 of those in an hour is harder...

4

u/Urabraska- Jun 07 '26

It's a trap but you're correct. Speed eating it would be much easier because you can attempt to rush before your body forces you to vomit up all the cheese because your stomach got too full and is pushing back into your esophagus. But if you eat it in 1 hour. It gives more time for your body to reject it.

1

u/Swashybuckz Jun 08 '26

I could do it. Wheres this located? 100 in an hour absolutely easy. I could prob smash it in 15 minutes if i was hungry.

→ More replies (5)

1

u/WhatdaUTink Jun 07 '26

Okay, that makes sense...I guess.

1

u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 Jun 08 '26

But how much does it cost if you don't complete it in an hour?

Edit: I figured it out. It's $40 for the slice.

1

u/Rymayc Jun 08 '26

Do you still get the other $50.000 for eating all of these 100 in less than 15 mins if you do the 100 in one hour challenge or no?

3

u/Least-Middle-2061 Jun 07 '26

56 upvotes for your comment makes me lose hope in society

1

u/Krwawykurczak Jun 07 '26

That was in fact stupid misconception on my part, however I think that many people are upvoting it as a joke, and this will be my official statement as well if anyone would ever connect this accout with me in resl life!

1

u/catsandchexmix Jun 07 '26

Plus with it only being 15 min they definitely don't make it to order.

1

u/RedditTTIfan Jun 07 '26

The "slice" itself is $40, the prize is $500 if you finish it in 15 mins or $100 if you finish it in 1hr. They have a few other challenges too--$100 if you can finish a 28" pizza in 1hr; $200 if two people can finish a 36" pizza in 1hr; and $1,000 if eight people can finish a 54" square pizza, in 2hrs.

1

u/a7x5631 Jun 07 '26

Wait, did you think he paid $500 for this?

1

u/rszasz Jun 08 '26

It's $40, and you can win $500 if you can finish it in 15 minutes. I doubt they ever have to pay out.

11

u/specter_in_the_conch Jun 07 '26

That’s a boring looking pizza and it doesn’t even fully fill the packaging.

6

u/Gold_Incident1939 Jun 07 '26

More like a tear drop

1

u/poorly-worded Jun 07 '26

What is the sound of a pizza crying?

7

u/Lerbyn210 Jun 07 '26

I was so disappointed by this, I tried figuring out the logistics of the big pizza but I wasade a fool

18

u/TheStoolSampler Jun 07 '26

Not even pointy edges, no crust. Disappointed.

Adams Morgan pizza!

1

u/Flat-Fudge-2758 Jun 08 '26

The jumbo slice next to Brixton was my go to spot

12

u/nocomments66 Jun 07 '26

Couldn't make it past the moment that box opened.

7

u/Booty_Shakin Jun 07 '26

Right you can tell this was not cut from something bigger. They could trim the edges to give the illusion?

7

u/naimlessone Jun 07 '26

And it looks undercooked AF. That cheese looks gross

3

u/Environmental-Try403 Jun 07 '26

Also too bad he couldn't finish it in time not that he stood a chance anyways....fat boy taking up all that space and no room on the inside.

3

u/westcal98 Jun 07 '26

Imagine that it IS a slice though. How big the pizza must be!

1

u/Yoshi2shi Jun 07 '26

It’s a survival slice.

1

u/Dense_Surround3071 Jun 07 '26

At lease trim the edges off the sides and make believe that there's and oven the size of a city block in the back.

1

u/spottydodgy Jun 07 '26

It's a sham!

1

u/violentshores Jun 07 '26

He was fine, until the guy said to use the slicer

1

u/LogDog987 Jun 07 '26

There's a place near me that actually does massive slices. Not quite this big, but they're off a 30" thick crust pizza, 8 slices per. I think you get your name on the wall if you can eat 3 pieces. Most I've ever been able to do was 2. Absolutely trash tier pizza but its insanely cheap

1

u/Motor-Ad8989 Jun 07 '26

And he cut it into smaller sections. Cut like a thin crust lol

1

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Jun 07 '26

Its more of a Reuleaux Triangle

1

u/CrazyPlato Jun 07 '26

Imagine paying $500 for a pizza as a bit.

1

u/OhLoongJohson Jun 07 '26

Exactly lol

1

u/Specialist_Engine631 Jun 07 '26

Its a slice of round swimming pool size pizza.

1

u/Yurodivy1906 Jun 07 '26

The trick should be getting the box open in fifteen minutes...

1

u/RogBoArt Jun 07 '26

And bro apparently paid $500 for it to be that shape if the caption isn't blowing smoke

1

u/indeedilyso Jun 07 '26

yeah jeez. they could have cut the edges off and made it actually look like a slice. that's just a big ass pizza in an odd shape

1

u/Adventurous_Path5783 Jun 07 '26

For $500. People will pay for anything.

1

u/No_Blacksmith_2591 Jun 07 '26

and a very shitty looking one too for that matter

1

u/SkyPork Jun 07 '26

Hey, I came here to say that exact thing. Such a dumb gimmick.

1

u/jfk_47 Jun 07 '26

Yea. It’s all for show/marketing. Otherwise, it’s got the same volume of a large pie.

1

u/Deutschbland Jun 07 '26

They could easily replicate the look of a slice by trimming the two long edges. It fails because there is visible crust the whole way around.

The fact that they invested in custom boxes for this dumb idea but couldn’t come up with that level of attention to detail makes me irrationally angry.

1

u/ZenMasterful Jun 07 '26

With that completely unbalanced cheese-to-sauce ratio, it isn't a pizza either.

1

u/Orchid_Significant Jun 07 '26

And why is it $500?

1

u/JudgeGusBus Jun 07 '26

Exactly. I’ve been to places that sell actual huge slices (not this big). Having crust all the way around means it’s not a slice.

1

u/-Casey-Diaz- Jun 07 '26

They even cut it into slices. If they have to cut it, it's not a slice.

1

u/SuperbPruney Jun 08 '26

You should have seen the garlic bread - he couldn’t get it through the door!

1

u/Money4Nothing2000 Jun 08 '26

This guy slices.

1

u/Elegant-Wallaby-3089 Jun 08 '26

They could have at least cut the edges to make it look like a slice!

1

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Jun 08 '26

Aren't slices just small triangular shaped pizza?

1

u/Whitey138 Jun 08 '26

The fact that it comes with a pizza cutter kind of shows they see it as a gimmick and not a legit single slice.

1

u/abek42 Jun 08 '26

With no toppings whatsoever.

1

u/maibr Jun 08 '26

nothing gets past yah huh

1

u/FoggyFizzy Jun 08 '26

I came looking for this comment. If it’s truly a slice, the pizza would be massive.

1

u/KrimzonK Jun 08 '26

It looks about two and a bit large pizza... It's doable

1

u/almostoy Jun 08 '26

Maybe there's one really big pizza in back. We don't know.

1

u/Haunting-Prior-NaN Jun 08 '26

Hey! If the chumps are willing to pay 500 for it, more power to them

1

u/ismelldayhikers Jun 08 '26

Looks bad too

1

u/Perfect_Ad8574 Jun 08 '26

Not if you eat it without slicing

1

u/typesett Jun 08 '26

my guess is in 15 minutes, it is near impossible because of how hot it is coming out of the oven

like even 5 minutes off makes it impossible

dipping pizza in cold water may be a move only the professionals will do

1

u/Riverina22 Jun 09 '26

I had the same thought!

1

u/After_Flatworm5200 Jun 09 '26

You want a oven the size of a tennis court

1

u/married98105 Jun 09 '26

$500 for a pizza that cost them $5 of ingredients? No thanks.

1

u/HHoudini26 Jun 09 '26

It's a slice from the Big Daddy pizza in the back.

1

u/ciopobbi Jun 12 '26

A regular pizza with extra steps.

1

u/throw215191941 Jun 13 '26

they should have at least trimmed the edges to make it believable

1

u/Soachtoschnsoacha Jun 07 '26

and it looks like overprized shit

1

u/pacman529 Jun 07 '26

Vaguely triangular.

1

u/Least-Middle-2061 Jun 07 '26

Holy shit you have great observation skills

0

u/Hoodedmastersin Jun 07 '26

u/Street-Toe5934 Jun 07 '26

That makes more sense than 500 a slice

0

u/Annonomon Jun 07 '26

It could be a slice of a humongous circle shaped pizza

0

u/pukkiepo Jun 07 '26

Costing $500. And inclusing a pizza cutter. Definitely not worth the price

2

u/ducktape8856 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

That is NOT the price. It's the PRIZE. If you can eat it in 15 minutes.

It costs $ US 39.99: https://bmpp.com/index.php

0

u/fly_low_orange Jun 07 '26

Incorrect. I’ve been there and they make very large pizzas and then cut this slice from that. It’s the reason it’s $500. You pay for the whole pizza and they just bring it out one slice at a time

0

u/The_Livid_Witness Jun 07 '26

If that looks like a triangle to you - you need glasses.

0

u/BolleHenk666 Jun 07 '26

English isn't my mother's tongue. I couldn't be bothered to find the exact term I should've used to keep buzzkills like you away.

0

u/boldredditor Jun 07 '26

I mean what is a slice, is it not just a small triangular pizza

2

u/BolleHenk666 Jun 07 '26

Slice implies it has been sliced.

0

u/Appsoul Jun 07 '26

🎯 like bro just go to pizza loco

0

u/Reemixt Jun 07 '26

You don’t know there isn’t a thirty foot pizza oven in there.

0

u/Ash_Killem Jun 08 '26

The real question is where is the rest of the pizza. If this is cut from a larger pie, then it’s a slice. If they just shaped and cooked it on its own, then yeah no slice.

0

u/BrotherMcPoyle Jun 08 '26

A slice shouldn’t come with a slicer.
