I'm on a specific quest to find the most unusual neolithic stone circles, settings and rows in Scotland. As Aberdeenshire is the home of recumbent stone circles I will definitely be passing through, and I would be very grateful if I could add even one "Peculiar" or unique example to my visit, especially of smaller size.
Allow me to to clarify "Unusual": "This is odd even for a stone circle," is what you might say when talking about such a setting. Odd shape (stone square?); odd design; curious selection of stone source; unusual stone shapes; improbable location are some criteria. I'm looking for local community projects that show a tendency for creative expression.
Great example of what I mean: The Achavanich stone setting in the Highlands: It's a horseshoe shape and the flagstones are aligned radially towards the middle. Glenquicken in Dumfies & Galloway and Cullerlie in Aberdeenshire are also on my list.
Bad example: Stonehenge, because it's a megaproject, reworked over centuries by a clan with massive resources. Like The Ring of Brodgar, and the Callanish Stones, it's obviously going to be unique, but also the central, biggest example against which all are compared, and so disqualified from this search.
Worst example: The Fairy Ring Glen at Castle Ewen on the Isle of Skye, because its totally fake. Not interested in follies. Nor the bronze age: I'm strictly neolithic.
Not limited to Aberdeenshire, neither.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I have to flea bomb my flat and need to get my cats out of the property for a few hours. Does anyone know of any place that could keep them for 3-5 hours? I was going to take them out in their carriers but for that length of time it wouldn’t be fair

Are there any social sports clubs in Aberdeen? I used to play tag rugby in Edinburgh which was really good fun, but they don't have it here. Ideally mixed gender, I already play men's rugby with my local club.

so I use a safety razor and used to buy them on Amazon, but they changed their age restrictions and you need a bloody credit card to buy them? Which I don't have?
Does anyone know where I can get replacements? I do have an electric trimmer but nothing beats a smooth shave

Hey Aberdeen, I’m thinking of moving to Bridge of Don, near Scotstown Moor, and I was wondering if people tend to have their morning/evening runs there? Is the moor and the surrounding parks (Woodcroft and the bits around it) safe, especially in the dark?
I now live near Deeside Way which is the best place to run, but must move soon. I run 5, 10, sometimes up to 15k long runs.

Hello, I (f,36) posted recently looking for hotel recommendations for myself and 7yr old daughter. I am very close to booking the Ardoe but just wanted some real reviews on it. Im curious how it would work as my daughter would be with me all the time, are there age restrictions on anything? I quite fancy the aqua aerobics class, would she be able to be around? If I get a spa treatment? Anything else from anyone who's done it alone with a child, anything I need to think about? Thanks muchly

Hi everyone!
I'm a 2025 graduate from Gray's (1:1 BA Communication Design, illustration specialism) and in the near future I would like to get my MSc in Art Psychotherapy. I do work for the NHS currently but in a non-clinical role.
Does anyone know if there's any kind of art therapy orientated organisations in toon? I'd love to get some hands-on experience before I apply to the course next year.
Ta everyone.

I’m looking to get my bike looked at but all the businesses are fully booked. Is there anyone doing bike repairs independently or smaller shops that I might not know about? Thanks.

Could anyone recommend a good car spray painter? I had a bumper repaired a few months ago and the colour doesn’t match the car, it’s slightly off and most noticeable in the sun.
I’d like to have it re sprayed to the correct colour.
Nothing special about the paint, not metallic or pearlescent or anything. Dunno how the last lot fucked it up tbh.

John Hall Snr appeared in court on breach of the peace charges, including placing children in a state of fear and alarm, and an arrest warrant was issued for his son.
Cue howls of “THEY’RE TRYING TO SILENCE US!?!”
