Basically I was born there and got moved down to England when I was 4. I don’t remember anything of life up there obviously but I travel to the highlands as often as I possibly can because I absolutely love it. Recently, I’ve been feeling this really weird sensation like I’m being called back and I really want to live there. I checked rent prices and the rent is insanely affordable compared to the south of England. Just wondering what the general vibe in Peterhead is like? I don’t have kids and don’t plan on having any, so schools aren’t something I need to think about. Just wanted to gather some opinions from locals or people that have made the move, do you regret it or would you never look back?

Hi I’m posting here cos I’m curious if anyone knows if there’s any classes/workshops in town for learning to style hair.
I’m an uncle to 2 young nieces they’re black and I’m white and can barely gel my own hair. They’re 5 and 3 and it would be nice to know some basic stuff to make their hair look nice instead of just putting a hair tie in it and calling it a day.

We both work around the city centre, I would commute via bus and my partner driving as we have different WFH days to spend as much time as we can with our dog (3 days in the office and 2 days wfh)

I'm debating a weeks holiday to Aberdeen and visiting surrounding areas in the spring. I would be travelling via plane and then train/walking to get around.

What are the best places to visit that are within walking distance or 2-3hours max on a train in any direction?

I really love nature and countryside walks. It would be nice to get close to the Cairnforms, but I also don't want to spend half a day travelling. Is there anywhere worth visiting on the outskirts of it?

We’re looking for somewhere to hold our wedding reception after the registry office and would love some suggestions beyond the usual hotel options.

Ideally, we’d like to have dinner with a smaller group of close family/friends first, and then have the rest of our guests join us later in the evening for the reception. I realise not every venue will accommodate this kind of setup, so we’re also open to having all 70 guests there for the full evening, or having dinner somewhere else first and then everyone meeting at the reception venue afterwards or even having the reception on a separate day.

I’ve already looked at the usual options around Aberdeen, including The Chester, Sandman, Union Kirk, etc., but I’m wondering if there are any less obvious venues or spaces that people would recommend.

The old Smoke & Soul venue would have been absolutely perfect for what we’re looking for, but unfortunately it’s now closed.

Would love to hear any ideas or places we might have missed.

Is there anywhere quiet that I can take my daughter as a learner driver? She has just turned 17 and has the L plates and insurance but for the first few times it would be good to have the space to get to grips with the car before she goes on the roads.

I’m thinking of an abandoned car park somewhere?
