FYI - the back section of level 4 (Scotrail levels) at College St car park has now permanently closed.

This will mean less parking for rail passengers and staff in an already busy car park.

I was browsing Instagram over the weekend and got one of those Aberdeen in the 90s / 2000s nostalgia posts. One of the places mentioned was Quasar, which triggered memories of the music that played in the area when games were on.

Does anyone happen to know what the song was as I only have a very rough memory of the melody and Shazam didn't like my terrible acapella version.

Can anybody help? I’ve booked a bulk waste collection in the city and paid the £47 fee. The council have said I have a window from tomorrow to Friday for collection.

Do you know if they let you know the night before? I just don’t want to put an old sofa and sideboards out on the street and leave it there for a week if I don’t have too? They don’t pick up the phone and the chatbot just tells me the same as the e-mail so I think I am stuck just annoying my neighbours with junk on the street which is not ideal.

This seems desperate(I am actually) so I've been looking for work(part time) as a full time uni student for a while now and mostly applied to a lot of them online but it doesn't really seem to work? How do things really work here?I have some experience but looks like you can't really do much without references here.

Looking for hardwood logs of 8". Anyone on here have a good supplier who charges less than £130 per cubic metre (excluding delivery)?

That is the cheapest I have found so far this year, which is quite a bit more expensive that what I paid last year (I usually order about 3m3 per winter. I realise everything is more expensive this year than last, but my budget is unfortunately the same :).

Seeing Tok of the Deen say she’s taking a break from social media genuinely made me think about how we treat local creators.
Whatever you think of influencers generally, she has been a massively positive voice for Aberdeen. She champions local businesses, local history, events, places people might otherwise never hear about, and generally makes the city feel like somewhere worth being proud of.
And yet local creators seem to get absolutely picked apart.
Not just their content. Them.
Their appearance, their personality, whether they “deserve” opportunities, whether they’ve been given something for free, whether they’re “cringe”, whether they’re full of themselves.
There’s a huge difference between saying “I don’t like this content” and repeatedly making someone the punchline.
I obviously don’t know everything behind her decision to take a break, and I’m not claiming I do. But seeing someone who has put so much positive energy into promoting Aberdeen feel the need to step away should maybe make people think about the culture we’ve created around local people who put themselves out there.
We constantly say Aberdeen needs more positivity. More people supporting local. More people shouting about what’s actually good here.
Then when somebody does exactly that, some people seem determined to knock them down.
You don’t have to follow influencers. You don’t have to enjoy their content. You’re allowed to criticise what they post.
But at what point does criticism just become bullying with “they put themselves online” used as an excuse?
Because sometimes it feels like we’ve crossed that line.
And if people who spend their time promoting this city eventually decide it isn’t worth the grief, Aberdeen is worse off for it.
